i went to the local car audio store and one of the employees told me that 15's are unable to play very many rock songs because they "simply cant hit those notes, its impossible" he said. was this guy just feeding me a ton of bs to sell me his product or did he know what he was talking about? ( he also has never heard of FI ) ive had my heart set on two fi bl 15's but after that i dont know if i should reconsider and get 2, maybe 3 12's or even like 4 10's? ( kind of exaggerating, but not completely ) ive got a ford explorer so i have the room to fit this amount of subs.

is there a certain distance the driver wants to be from the back of the enclosure or is it fine anywhere as long as the correct amount of volume inside the box is present? also, is there any advantage to buying a dual voice coil sub over a single voice coil?

i plan on running two fi bl 15"s on one sundown saz 1000d, eventually two..

hey guys, so im new to car audio but have been doing quite a bit of research.. i first planned on getting two 15" jls but then i found fi and would really love to get to 15" bls and two amps to power each. ive got a 93 ford explorer with completely stock stereo, all four speakers are blown so i need all new speakers and an amp to power them. i also need a head unit. so i basically need everything new. i plan on doing the big three upgrade and any other things necessary to have a clean install, i also plan on making my own box. if anyone has any suggestions or anything to say about my plans id love to hear about it! another thing is that i see people giving bls 1500 watts+ rms but i saw that they are only rated for 1000 rms? can they just handle wayy more power than its rated or what? might be a stupid question but im curious. Thanks!!

Not all amps are strappable. I'm not too familiar with any Soundstream amps since I've never used one. How can I tell which amps are strappable?

Okay yeah.. then strapping the two amps sounds perfect.. do you need special amps to do that or can it be done with any mono amp out there? I really like soundstream amps btw..

no i dont think i am going to.. ive heard of bridging them, im thinking about doing that.. and i dont know if that is the same a strapping them but i know nothing abbout that so any knowledge would be very appreciated!

i dont know if you read it or not.. but ive got an explorer.. and i originally planned on only getting one amp but i have so much room in the back i decided two would look better and maybe beform better.. but thanks anyways for the advice!!
