Don't know the context of your problem, but I believe Sean DeYoung & MacNCheese are both in the Grand rapids area. Or were at one point. I'm in Kalamazoo. 45 minutes from GR. Mac is in GR.

Recommending that much power over rated is never a good idea, especially using the words "safely recommend". Just because you did it doesn't mean everyone can.

He clearly states two d4 subwoofers. Amplifier will be fine. Make sure to set your amplifier correctly. No need to run more than rated power. If you want to run more step up to the SA series.

Good job on building the enclosure. Install the amplifier you have, it will work just fine with those SA's. If you absolutely feel like you need/want a new amp, what is your budget?

Plans have changed a little. Since this car is an extra vehicle I decided to go a little farther with the stereo. I have purchased another 10" XCON and will be building a box for them and sealing it off from the trunk. The Zed Miniliths are for "daily listening" and I am going to purchase another amp that is rated for 4k-5k to drop in for competitions. Any recommendations on amplifiers in this power range @ 1 ohm would be great!

Small update: New dish caps for my two 10" XCONS. Yes, they are real carbon fiber. I would like to thank Duran for making an awesome product!

Exactly people see that my status says "newbie" well im not i just dont use this forum much. But its cool i got a MB Quart 2k. Ive never blown a woofer. Ill be fine on that amp. Im not stupid. So yeah i think ill be just fine with my 2k and active set up. Oh what a "newb" is going active? Oh how did he know what that was? Ha ha anyway. Thanks SPL MAN. If you have a fair amount of experience in car audio you knew the answer. Also, running an active setup is easy. Running it correctly is another thing.

The SSA Dcon is built upon ordering. I believe the 187 series is now gone. IA is switching to the I series subwoofers as their lower line.
