Best tweeters for sound quality?
S.DeYoung replied to Austin863's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I too run Mach 5 mids. I paired them with a LPG 25NFA. These tweeters work really well in off axis installations. For a small format tweeter they can play down to 2000hz pretty well. I have the Mach 5s playing 63hz-2000hz and the LPG 2000hz and up. For a simple installation they sound really good together. I have a brand new set of these tweeters for sale in the classifieds. I also have a nice used pair of Mach 5 MLI 6.5" mids available as well. -

Did you buy new or used?

I watched the video again. Is there something you are leaving out of this story? There should be no reason that woofer does that, even on 2x the power.

JL audio tw5 13.5" Dust-Cap issue
S.DeYoung replied to Frostedflakejake's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
What a steal! I am a picky SOB, so I would have a new cap put on or a recone. Duran has made me a few carbon fiber caps. I would recommend his products highly. -
Just read Durans post. Agree 100%

Watching the video, it sounds like it is a dustcap loose. Check around the edges of the cap and see if there is any movement.

200w each for a month. They have lived priviliged lives. I would say so haha. And it's safe to assume that it'll handle the 1750w RMS rating still? I don't know much about modded subs so I'm just trying to cover my bases They only have custom dust caps. This is only a cosmetic change. They are still exactly the same other wise. Yes they are still rated for 1750wrms.

Battery Isolator? Thoughts.
S.DeYoung replied to wannabang's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
If you listen to it for awhile(few minutes or more) while the engine is off, then add one. You really need to make sure you stick a charger on your agm battery every once in awhile as well. -
Battery Isolator? Thoughts.
S.DeYoung replied to wannabang's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Why do you think you need an isolator? The only reason you would need one is if you listen to your stereo with the ignition off/car not running. -
Happy happy birthday!

Need a head unit
S.DeYoung replied to Pimp-Juice's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
JVCs new line is pretty nice. I have used a new one recently. Check them out. You can get a double din for under $200. -
I do not think you will be able to get that much power for that price in a Sundown amplifier. A couple of months ago I sold my SAZ2500 for $550. If your budget has to stay around $500, there is nothing wrong with giving those XCON's a smaller amount of power. They will sound great and get loud very easy.
