More headroom for sure. I have a MB Quart DSC1500.1 (1500wrms @ 1ohm) on my 12" d2 Icon. I have seen these amps on ebay brand new for $209-$229.
-
Love the pods on the dash Great work!
-
Yeah running with the stock alternator, but it is 160amps. No voltage drop with the one dsc1500. We'll see how it handles two.
-
I believe it is just a pair of tweeters in the dash and 6" woofers in the doors. Capacitors on the tweets nothing on the woofers
-
Which Sundown amps are you thinking about? Your subs will def be able to handle than those RFs. Looking forward to this build pics of the truck?
-
Yeah I have used them both ways. I personally like them this way better. They still work the same way and the sub seals just fine. Going to try hurricane nuts on the next box with the two icons.

I have owned the Dcon and D3 subs. Both sound great in sealed and ported boxes if built right. Dcon>D3. Take advantage of the great deals going on right now! -
Which Headunit
S.DeYoung replied to casedawg350's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I have owned only Pioneer headunits in 4 vehicles and have never had one problem with them. Both nice headunits either way! -

I want to upgrade my front stage in my Durango. I was to fiberglass my doors to hold a woofer (maybe 7-8"), midbass (4-5"), and tweeter. Looking at the Goldwood brand? Any other suggestions? This will be an active setup with a seperate amp to power each different set of speakers (1 for woofers, 1 for midbass, 1 for tweeters)
-
Yeah I was looking at Parts Express at different brands. It looks like I could get my whole front stage for under $200! if I go with Goldwood.

ordering Alpine Type R's. 6.5" (Crutchfield vs. WoofersETC?...
S.DeYoung replied to swagger_wagon468's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
I have purchased products from crutchfield in the past. The higher prices are for warranty, awesome customer service, and if you specify the vehicle you are buying the equipment for the give you step by step instructions on how to install. Also if you need adapter brackets and/or wiring adapters those are included in the price also. Crutchfield is great for people that may not know how to take their dash apart or their interior door panels off, etc. -

What are the dimensions you have to work with?
-
It sounds like your box may not be tuned to 32hz if it is not hitting the lows like you want it to. Can you post dimensions of box along with port dimensions?
-
Thanks for the input. I'll turn the box today and see how that sounds.
