  1. I would do this in order: - Voltmeter - 0 gauge - New AGM battery under the hood - New AGM battery in the trunk - H/O alternator That being said every vehicle is different. What size alternator (stock) do you have? Do you have any other amplifiers(running component/door speakers)? Upgrade each step and make sure to monitor your voltage.
  2. Upgrade to 0 gauge wire before anything else.
  3. Why not follow AA's recommendations? Mayhem

Yes it does. Especially stuff like this. It only takes one bad transaction to go public like this one to ruin a company's rep. There has been bad transactions from other companies, like you said no one is perfect. The difference is how they handle it. I have had problems with other audio companies myself. They made it right and didnt give me the run around like is going on in this thread.

    Need some help!!

Do you have a vid of your setup?? I want to see those 8" woofers in action. And you have the super tweeter with those. That's a nice idea. Not a nice idea. The B&C he linked is a great driver, but I'd at least match it with a tweeter that was listenable. Super tweeters and cars never really make sense. If you need more output step up to a horn. ok you guys. I ordered 1 set of crescendo components. And may buy watts09 AA mids if he still has them Monday. will try both, and if my HD cam is in, in time, i'll do two video's of their performance. THANK YOU ALL!!! You all have helped me out ALOT! I took my rear speakers out already, and will take front stage out when I get crescendos. Will keep you ALL updated. Thanks again to you ALL. looking forward to progress

This ^^^. Only get one set of components. 2 woofers and 2 tweeters or step up to a 3 way setup. Anything more is a waste of money.
  9. That sub is essentially a dvc 1ohm subwoofer. So you can wire it to .5 ohm or 2 ohm. I have no idea how you could hook it up two different ways (series and parallel) and get the same thing. Its impossible. Also, you only need to hook up one negative and one positive speaker connection coming out of the Sundown. Pics to help you.
  10. This^^^. This build is coming along nicely. Can't wait to see some fiberglass work.

I agree with this, in terms of your goal being a balanced system, or one that gets really loud but does not have much audible distortion. Ok. So, I'll take out the Kenwood 5-ways 500watts. So no speakers for the rear deck?? My car didn't have factory back door speakers. So you all suggest I install 2 or 3 speakers in each door (I'll fiberglass them for customs), with no rear deck speakers? Is that what you guys suggest?? AND NO SUPERTWEETER?? Don't put anything in the back of your car. Not in the rear deck or the rear doors. Focus your budget on what is in front of you.

    2003 Dodge Durango Build

Oh, I have one more question lol- was it 40" to the plastic trim panel, or the actual hatch? 40" was useable depth. My box is 37" and it has some space in between it and the hatch. Of course, like most SUV's the hatch curves out farther near the floor and gets smaller towards the roof.

What kind of coils do you have now. I have two SSDs (last gen) in the for sale section that are fully loaded and are D1s. copper flat wind i think they are called, no im looking for D2's, it sucks that they changed it, i emailed them see if they could build me custom to match the one i have now or see if i could send mine off get it reconed and the magnet changed to the newer one Yeah the ones I have are two months old and have the bp power, flatwind coil, and cooling options. What final impedance are looking for?

I have been happy with my Diamond D6 components. To me they are hard to beat for the price. I have one set of the components in my Durango and they keep up with my two 18'' Xcons. To me what you have in your signature for speakers is overkill. Loving the old school icons though

Just a cheap table saw. Believe me I am not the best wood cutter out there. Sanding down edges actually helps me if they are off a little. I just make sure to cut bigger than I need if I do screw up.

    2003 Dodge Durango Build

I finished building the box and have it installed in the Durango(Pics later today). All I can say is wow. It is crazy how much louder these are then the 12's. The Xcons continue to amaze me with how they sound.

Let me know when works for you this weekend while you are driving through this way. I was thinking the same. It will stay unfinished for awhile until I do more adjusting. The box is 15 cf with 240" of port area.
  22. I would go brand new over used or refurbished any day. The AQ3500 would be perfect. Db-r does do great work and don't hesitate to buy from them if they have something you want.
  23. You are perfectly fine. Its a good practice to maintain your batteries. I check mine often to make sure they are good.

Thank You Probably just going with boring carpet. I havent decided 100% yet though. I am probably going to install it unfinished for awhile. For sure. Whenever works for you guys. Can't wait. Thank You. It better be able to hold a few hundred pounds since it weighs a few hundred pounds. More to be done today. A little paint in the port. Sick of the black port.
