    Welcome to the IHoP

What thread? I've been out What a joke. I wouldn't mind if he/they just left here. Now there is two straight pages of the box builders defending their design.

    2003 Dodge Durango Build

I am finally starting my new build on my Dodge Durango. I almost have all the equipment in. Just waiting on the new battery and some wire. The ride: The wheels: Anella Diamond II Suv 22" My vehicle has a third row (I never use it) which I will be removing to create a false floor for battery and wire storage. Third row removed: There is a storage place in the back of the vehicle where my amps can fit perfectly into: Amps: MB Quart DSC 1500.1 MB Quart DSC 480.4 running Diamond D6 components right now until I purchase some Bravox components These amps have always worked well for me. They look nice next to each other because they are in the same case and are the same size. I am doing a single sub install and thought I would get the 2010 Icon. Thanks SSA for the awesome deal. 12" 2010 Icon D2 with aluminum coils: That is it for now I will post more pics as the build goes on.

I definitely have room because the battery is located in the spare tire well. Thank you for your quick response.

    2007 Chevy Cobalt

The stock battery is classified as a group 45 battery. Which of your batteries is the closest to the stock size? CCA's is 600 amps.

    Just saying hello

    Welcome
  14. It is a Power Acoustik. The brand is not what it used to be. Recommendation: get a more quality amplifier.

    Can't stand that guy
  17. I've read so many horror stories about EA products... I contacted Mechman and XS Power and neither of them carried anything for my vehicle. I haven't called excessive amperage yet, so I might give them a call and see what they have to offer. I've heard horror stories about them too, so I guess I'll have to keep that in mind. I did not know that. I and friends of mine have had good luck with them. I'm still looking for alternator options. Instead of doing a high output. I want to get a dual bracket with two oem alternators. Good luck with whatever you decide. With your two options, I would do the bigger alternator first and then add some batteries as you can.

    6 skar 10 or 12s

Instead of getting 6, why not just get 2? I can understand the "WOW" factor. But does it make much sense to jump from 1 to 6 on the same power?
  19. Have you contacted Mechman or Excessive Amperage? I have been very impressed with both companies.

Limited space. What would you do?

Can you load up more pictures of the inside of the vehicle?

    Retirement of old friends

Valeo FTW. I replaced my straps for hooks long ago. They seem to do the job and last a lot longer.

Limited space. What would you do?

What are you trying to achieve? To be as loud or louder than what you have now but take up less space? Under seat space (I doubt it)?

Need help picking out an enclosure

Go to the tech tab at the top of the website. The tech section has recommended enclosures for each subwoofer. I would recommend a ported enclosure for your 12" Icon. Make sure you have google sketchup downloaded so you can open the file. If I had to pick between those two amplifiers I would go with the Audioque. Thanks for the help No problem if you go to the Team SSA section and look through my build log (2003 Dodge Durango), you will see I did a box for a single 12" Icon. Its in the first few pages. The specs are close to recommended. Do your seats fold down at all?

    2003 Dodge Durango Build

Its close. I think it may be choking it a little. Its roughly 8" on the floor from the box to the hatch. But it gets to 4" at the glass. I was stupid and didn't account for this. I haven't metered it yet, but I think a new box will be coming soon. Overall it sounds good but I think it can be better. Sounds like my old box when I was running 2 almost exactly, tho you do have a good bit more port area than I did. (180") If you can fold your seats and push the box, try that first to see if it helps. When I moved that box, it changed the peak frequency from 36 to 37 but didnt do anything for the score good or bad. That said it did help my new box a good bit. Try it both ways. Hard to know what it is going to do really. Yeah I am going to move it around a bit to see if it changes anything. My 2nd row seats do fold down. Of course this would only be a temporary solution since I use my 2nd row often. But I can change my dimensions around and build another box similar. I may give subwoofers and port up a try.
