Thank for the link Great job love your box and everything else too! Only questions is whats the thickness of plexi and did you put anything between plexi and wood?
-
I'm going to assume you have everything else planned out already . The two 12's will have more cone area than the one 15 in say a 4 cubic box so if you are throwing 1000rms at them the 12's will move more air.

I have installed a second battery in the trunk and I am going to be running the grounds from amps to the negative on the battery. Whats the longest run of ground you guys have used? -

Thanks for the input guys I still have a long way to go and I am certainly not done yet. All this will come in handy now and with any future upgrades I might do. I see myself probably at around 2000rms and different sub LATER on down the road, when I get there I'll for sure run 1/0 power and ground to it. My main efforts right now are to get my electrical up to snuff and next on the list is a mechman 240 amp alt for my cruiser. My plate is full with this as well as baby boy due within the next two weeks -

I was thinking that too but after I ordered. I have big 3 1/0 done, 1/0 from front battery to rear battery and then a run o 1/0 from negative on rear battery all the way to front battery negative. the power and grounds from amp would be the only 4g runs. Just to know where does it become a problem? -

It's going to a P1000-1bd and a P400-2. This is what i have now, I am working on a different box which would let me put battery between box and seat if all else fails. but sou yu can get an idea here's a pic. -

Impious then I'll be ok with my runs? I'm a worry bug and I think things over a million times before I do anything lol. I am waiting on some ring terminals as well as the ground wire so I have time to plan it out. I wanted to put the battery behind the tail light in the corner of trunk and have the sub box towards the backseat, and amps bolted onto the backseat so thats why I asked about the lengths of ground. They would have to come around from amps to the battery. As for pics lol my car is far from photogenic lol very ruff around the edges! -

rf 1000.1bd explanation

I have this one, http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/products/product_details.asp?cat_id=2&series_id=6&family_id=19&item_id=108232&locale=en_US&p_status= in the manual the infrasonic filter is selectable 12dB/Octave,-3dB@28Hz infrasonic filter - A 28Hz High Pass filter designed to prevent frequencies below the audio range from being applied to the subwoofer from the amplifier. Consequently improving subwoofer performance and power handling, particularly in a vented enclosures. -
I have front and trunk batteries in parallel and want to know how to charge them together without taking them out of the car if its possible. I don't want to just hook charger up while everything else is connected and burn out an amp or anything else electrical in the car. But if its safe to do it then that would help instead of going through the whole routine of taking each one out and doing them one at a time.

Is it safe to charger two batteries while they are still in car?
Robert replied to Robert's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I have this, http://www.autozone.com/autozone/accessories/Schumacher-75-20-10-2-Amps-speed-charge-automatic-battery-charger-engine-starter/_/N-2604?itemIdentifier=58755&_requestid=4686535 I just went out hooked it up to front battery and in about 4 minutes it was done. I guess maybe my alternator has been do0ing a good job of topping them off. Before I had the secondary battery I used to take the main battery off to charge every once in awhile and it would take about 10min to charge by itself. I'm still in the caveman stage of learning so I'll understand this better as time goes by. -

I needed the peace of mind with your answers, hell if you only know the luck I have even the tiniest easiest things in all the world tend to turn out to be mountain climbs for me lol. Thanks guys -
I'm sorry to say but you think DC wants to refund him and be stuck with paper weights? Someone should have gracefully bowed out along time ago.

ok been awhile but I have purchased what I need to hook up second battery my only question now is do I ground the amps to the negative of second battery as well?

When building a sub box and putting pieces together how long do you clamp each pieces with glue until you pre drill and then put screws in and move onto next side?

In the end buy whatever makes you happy

I have an amp laying around and I would like to know is it worth fixing or just get a new one?

Any difference with upgrade?
Robert replied to BanginGMC's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Why don't you change a third variable like the box too and then further misapply what you are reading. Funny to compare a Q to a fart cannon as well. There will be a huge difference, but not sure if it is the type you are looking for. The speaker I mention was an idea since looking at others that carry around the same RMS rating is a wide range to choose from. As for the box I am glad I built one off a design from a man named fallen off another site that can work with 2k pretty good so all I would do is swap subs out and upgrade amp, hell the box is way better than the flea market stuff around here. It's just that I am a simple person much like most that come here and from most threads that have popped up in the last two weeks regardless of how redundant they are they "seem" to end off saying you won't notice anything from slight to moderate RMS output increases. I'm glad you have a ton of knowledge when it comes to this stuff but take time to put yourself in everyone else's shoes and think like them going off the numbers on the box regardless of how big of the hammer you swing in circles trying to get them to understand meters and what not. lol my fart box is at 4 cubes tuned to 33hrz
