    Anti-cabin gain?

I thought cabin gain was supposed to make a sub sound louder and play lower, yet with my doors closed and windows up, it is signifigantly quieter than with a window down or door open, especially in the low bass region. FYI, I have an audioque LW8 (awesome sub btw) in a 1 cu. ft. enclosure with 16in^2 of port tuned to 35hz behind the driver's seat of a 1998 ford ranger extended cab facing backwards. It seems like there is some sort of cancellation going on; in my HT I could help this by adjusting the phase, but i've never heard of a phase adjustment on a car amp. Anything to fix this, or am I doomed to rolling the windows down when I want to bump? I've already tried reversing the phase, but I don't know what to do to fix this. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanks, Greg

    Audioque LW8 review

Yeah, that's pretty much exactly what it looks like. It's in a 1 cubic foot box (after displacement) with 16 in^2 of port tuned to 34ish hz. And the 300wrms rating is conservative, we tried it out with my friend's amp (500 wrms @4ohm) with some burps and bass songs it it took it like a champ. I wouldn't run it with much more than 350-400 daily, but it's a hell of a speaker. Also, in my experience (built and listend to about 15 subs and boxes, im just getting started :-) ) this sub plays below tuning very well. Im getting extension into the mid 20's with little to no dropoff in response. Probablly because of how stiff the suspension is (rediciously stiff) and the magnet strength, but I might be mistaken. Anyone wanting a loud 8 with fairly good sq (can't really tell, my truck rattles too much) should definately consider the lw8, it's almost as loud as my friend's 8w7 in a bigger box with more power, but mine was only $99 :-). Oh yeah, it's in a 1998 extended cab ford ranger

    Hey...

Well, it was only about 2 feet from the top of the washer to the open door of the dryer... I hit my head. Anyways, i think it made me smart. who knows.

    Audioque LW8 review

Well, this is my first post here, and I didn't see anything on audioque over here, so I figured I'd share my experience. I just got my LW8 last week, and built the box DJ recommended for me, albeit a little lower tuning than recomended. First impressions running off 350ish wats from the bazooka amp is impressive. This little 8 (weighs about 15lbs) can really move some air. And it sounds good too, I was surprised but this sub is fast but low and not too punchy. Even with just one (i've got another on the way) it shakes everything in my car and everyone thinks i've got a 12" sub back there. Well, if you guys got any other questions give me a shot, and i'll answer asap. Overall, this has got to be one of the best 8's on the market and the company has the best customer service i've ever seen. Laterz Greg P.s. - i don't have a digicam so no pics for now, ill have my sister take some when she comes home
