well i was talking with some of my friends, and we got to talking about some stupid crap. so i decided to ask the same question. When you are listening to your system in your car, do you tend to leave it on even numbers or odd numbers? (ex. i like mine on 18) i tend to lean toward even numbers, and some of my friends will only listenin on odd numbers. what are yalls thoughts?

alright well i have been contemplating getting an rl-p 12 and porting at something pretty low like 20 hz for home audio use. putting about 540 watts to it. im starting to wonder if this would be overkill, and if i should go with an rl-i with alil less power. i also wanted to know if there was someone who could draw me up some plans, or at least someone i could talk to about plans. thanks yall.
-
yes thats what i want. now i just needa find someone to do plans.
-
i really wanna port the sucker, but sealed may be more practical for what i have, because i dont have tons and tons of room. but if i can port this thing in under say 3-4 cu ft total then it may work that way.

ya i listen to rock mostly, but rap and techno too. and im also looking for a decent plate amp to power it with. the only ones ive found thus far are the ones at parts express, what is yalls take on those, and do yall have anybody i could pay for enclosure designs?

lol i like that

im lookin to do almost the same thing, except with an RL-p 12" so im quite interested in this. It will be my first venture into DIY home audio, and am looking for some box plans as well, and i am also looking for a recommendation on an amp. i was thinking about a partsexpress 500 watt plate amp.

Home Audio Amplifiers
tsealsut2010 posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
ok well i dont know if this is exactly where im supposed to put this topic, so correct me if i'm wrong. I'm looking to start making some stuff for my dorm room next year, and i was wondering, what some good brands of amplifiers that are out today in the home audio spectrum. i mean power amplifiers, for subs and such, and also some other good 4-8 channel amplifiers for speakers. I assume i can just use a home theater receiver for the speakers and such, but as for the power amplifiers, im lost thus far. What are some brands that you all like, that y'all recommend. ive been looking at some Crown, but i dont know. My dad has meridian, but thats out of my price range for sure. any thoughts? thanks. -

all the stuff i have right now was mainly used for guitar recordings, and with use with guitar amps. i have a relatively nice marshall one that takes 200watts rms, if anyone is interested. its 2 twelves in it. i have the alesis powering that right now with my electronic drum set, in which im trying to sell as well. -

im not sure about the tube, it was something my stepdad had for his recording studio. my initial thought is nothing special, but i havent looked up much on it, but i believe it said something on the amplifier itself about microphones or something, and only like 26 watts per channel, i think itsa 4 channel. so i didnt really think to much of it. i plan on looking at it more, but as for now its in my garage at my moms apartment. -

oh and ya a good bargain is always sought for, but i mean i wont be shasty with what i choose due to budget constraints. i mean i have alot to live up to, my dad wont let me get anything that is subpar. he spent more on his speaker setup in our media room, than he did on the purchasing his car. (745i), but i mean im lookin at probably $2000-$3000 at the very highest, and im wantin something thats kicken, with some killer SQ -

ya, im just trying to get some brand names to look at, so i can start researching and such. and of course i will be asking many detailed questions later, as this will be a long process, which is why i am starting now, when i go off to college this fall. as like car audio should i get an external amplifier for my outer speakers instead of using the recievers outputs? -

ya, i have some old studio reference stuff from my moms divorce. some tube amp, and some alesis reference amp, crown is just one of the first ones that ive heard. i have an onyko receiver already, so i will probably look at some of their stuff first. i love it when you can match brands, but if its not the most practical then i can look elsewhere. thanks for the input. -

ya the shift knob is kinda f'ed up. i havent had time to deal with that yet. I AM A try and push the box back alil, but the trunk doesnt have much room back there because of the bars the move when it closes. im really happy about my stuff. and excited about it. thanks.

i just finished my latest install in my '01 accord coupe. its nice, im very pleased. i may be in the market for some new mids soon. in the front and puttin sumtin else in the back as well, in the spot of the 6x9's. well as of now i have some alphasoniks in the front. and some chity infiniti reference 6x9s in the back. the 6x9s are powered from the deck, but i can turn the decks amp, but the alphasoniks are powered by a US AMPs MD41 (thank you flakko) bridged. it does 160-180 rms. so those alphasoniks r pretty powered. but if i were to get anything else i would be going 4 channel, and getting comps that r around 60-75 rms. but ya, thats somethings else entirely. and i will be building some kicks soon. for the rear. i have a diamond audio d915d2 15" in a 2.25 cubic ft sealed enclosure (my first enclosure build). powered by a us amps ax1000de pushin 1000 rms at 1 ohm. and that has surpassed my expectations. i have the whole car deadened with RAAMat, and the h/u is an alpine cda 9855. overall i am really excited about the whole deal. and it was a blast doing it all. this was my first true system install, and i will be posting pics very soon. thanks for all yalls help with various problems to SSAudio is amazing.

on the enclosure, im trying to find the best place for it. i put it there for pics, but if there are any recommendations, dont hesitate to post.
