Cant Get Enough

My alt charges at 14.4 Have a batt bank, and stays above 13v whith hard bass hits. After a while my subs loose "thump" I still have some bass I'll turn the volume down and it comes right back. I have my gain set to 7 at 28 volts well below max output. Brand new T1000-4ad running two P3's.

Quality depends on the circuts used example a resistor with a 1%tolerance will cost about ten dollars and one with a 5% tolerance costs about 50 cents. Higher percentage tolerance can cascade "strain" a circut board causing premature faillure. It's not all about overhead

I'd just piggyback the alt to the batt positive, fused of course. But I would trace the two gounds from batt to frame/body and batt to engine block and replace the existing grounds completely. The grounds are already in the best location for the car and piggybacking them will cause more chances of corrosion.

Just connect your remote wire to the red or key switched wire on the back of the head unit. That way it'll only come on when you turn on your car.

It's actually a front stage amp. Not intended for subs. Why do people use only ab for door speakers?

My whole system currently is Rockford. Everyone that hears it says It's the clearest they've ever heard. Hits pretty hard also.

I have a batt bank, 2 hc2400's and a hc1800 Bought a 200 amp power bastard alt that is a direct fit for my 02 taurus It spiked to 16+ volts when i hit the gas lights got real bright then the voltage regulator kicked in and it settled back to 14.5 v. Sent ot back they put in a new regulator same problem. Bought a HO rebuild kit for my stock alt, same problem. Went to a local mechanic and he said there is no way to solve the slow regulator issue I'll buy a mechman if they can solve this issue. I also need a direct fit due to space restraints Why is my HO alt having these issues.

Those little guys are sensitive. You can actually repair the fuse with a little instruction.

I solved my loss of bass problem. When I was doing routine connection cleaning I found that my ground to body from sub amp had almost pulled completely out of the crimp connector and didn't notice it under the shrink wrap. Yeeaahhhh!!!

True surround sound will sound awfull. You'll get most of the sound in the center channel and bass with just accents in the left right and rear. It's best to have it in stereo with amplified front and rear and run a center channel off head units speaker outs. I use a pair of rockford punch 2 and a halves. Turn your head unit up to 75% the increase your front stage until you cant tell if it's coming from which speaker then turn up rear until it you can tell it's coming from the rear then back off slightly till you don't notice the direction of sound. Now the sound will envelope you instead of hearing it come from the speaker. Only one issue is if your head unit doesn't turn up the center channel loud enough you'll need a small amp.

It's actually direct fit alt,not universal and I changed the regulator when I first got the alt since I was getting voltage spikes and the one I ordered to replaced it was exactly the same brand and model that came with the HO alt but I didn't know until I opened the alt up. I also bought a HO rebuild kit from a different site for my old burnt up stock alt and that even came with the exact brand regulator with the exact same voltage spike issue. So with the new batts and oem regulator I hope it will solve my dilemma. This will be my last attempt with a HO alt or it'll be batt bank and stock alt.

Just ordered a couple new hc2400's and bought a cranking batt also ordered a motocraft voltage regulator and gonna swap out that crappy aftermarket regulator then see how it goes I'll update after the alt install

They have them at parts express 8 ohm 100 watts. They dont click off but they'll go to zero which is the same thing

. You can purchase a variable on off volume knob so when you turn it down you can click it off and wont cause any spikes to damage your amp I actually use one for my center channel. Make sure it can handle the load you'll put on it. Remember old time knob radios when you turned the switch it clicked on then you turned up the volume. Same thing and when its off you convert back to 4 ohms.

2 ohms amps are hooked to the back batts and they're still charging

I know people will say you can't here the difference but I can and even though you probably cant hear the audible distortion and me having a background in studio recording there is definately a loss in transparency "hearing through the bass"

I've been installing my own systems since 1992. PPI and Rockford were my favorites so I've stuck with them and class ab were all we had but when class d came out with higher wattage I tried them and thought the sound was awful muffled and woofy. So I never used class d again until Rockford came out with class ad that was supposed to be as clean as class ab so I swapped out my T6002 ab for the T10004-ad to utilize th e full potential of my P3's and they were definately clean but Rockford doesn't make a 2 channel version so I'm stuck using a 4 channel. I guess manufacturers don't think someone would ever want a clean sounding 2 channel amp with enough power going to subs

I also checked my batts when they were new and the autozone guy said they all were bad didn't pass cca test. But I heard cca's are low on kenetiks and should measure using ah

I changed it out tonight but the messed up part is I've swapped out my alt so many times I can do it in fifteen mins I'll change it back to the HO tomorrow and try each batt seperately. I originally started with the hc1800 and the ho alt got pissed put the stock back in and then added the hc 2400's to solve dimming issues. But the ho alt really makes the bass hit, thats why I want it to work so bad. I,ve only recently decided to put the ho back in when I read a batt bank is required with ho alt.
