rockford vs audioque
whatnow275 replied to whatnow275's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
i'm not worried about the power...will the RF sound much better on 2 type r 12" 1243 or 1223s? No, it will not sound better or worse for that matter. Buy what fits your budget and has the features you need. well then what are the real-world advantages to buying a t1500-1bdcp over keeping my current powerbass asa1500.1dx? (sorry i know that probably sounds like a stupid question) -

how much difference does rockford's constant power technology actually make? -
thanks for the info on the actual efficiency. i'm more into output. i currently have 2 10" type r's (1042, not 1043) ran off of a powerbass asa 1500.1dx. i'm thinkin about going to 2 12" type r 1243's (the new ones) off of a rockford either t1000-1bdcp or t1500-1bdcp so i can save some money on subs and invest in a quality amp (subs are 144 a piece). any opinions on the newest type r's?

how would type x's compare to the pioneers?
-
has anyone heard anything about planet audio's big bang 2 series of subwoofers? the 12" has an efficiency of 95db at 1W/1M
-
i had already considered a 15" fi BTL a little while ago...do you think that is a better choice than 2 pioneers? it has less surface area...
-
He ha s 1500 watt amp so 2 SSD's or SA-12's would be alright but no Fi X's i'm probably going to upgrade to an audioque 2200.1
-
i can get them for 175 each, and i was planning on a 3 or 4 cu ft box for both of them (no separate chambers) tuned to high 30's. what else would you recommend? do you know anything about planet audio's the big bang 2 subs?
-
which would be better, one fi btl 15" fully loaded or two fi ssd's with the BP power option, both on 2100w rms? pros and cons of each would be appreciated
-
thanks. how do the ssd's compare to planet audio's bb2 series subs?
-
oh sorry, i thought i put that i was looking at 12" ssd's. yeah i want loud, but i would also like to bump on more than just rap
-
alright sweet, i want it to shake shit a lot more
-
I have heard that mounting a 15" subwoofer (btl) in a car will be louder, or at least shake more, if it is facing up rather than back. does anyone have any experience or insight on this topic?
-
yeah i've already got a second battery, will do big 3 soon enough. my electrical is pretty solid, it always stays above 12 volts. which way should i go with amplifiers
-
Which would be the better route to go to power a 15" fully loaded Fi BTL, 2 powerbass ASA 1500.1Dx amps (i already have one) or one Hifonics Brutus BRZ2400.1D? does anyone know if powerbass actually puts out rated power? i heard that the brutus is under rated
-
Thanks for the input. I just recently pointed my 2 10" subwoofers up and it hit some notes WAY harder and others stayed about the same. i think i will be facing the 15" BTL i will soon be buying up with the port back. how was the volume on each of your positionings?
-
Which would be louder in ideal enclosures, two Fi Q 12 inch woofers or one Fi BTL 15 inch woofer? both would be running off of 1500w rms. I dont want answers that say i need to measure my car to make sure i can fit the box, i already know i can. I just want to know which will be louder
-
i dunno. he didnt specify a budget. but his budget is somewhere between 2 q's and 1 btl. i cant wait for his next thread: "which would be louder, 50 of Tweeter A vs 40 of Tweeter B?" lol nice satire. sorry about that guys
-
lol nice parody. sorry about that guys
-
Hey, so I was just wondering, which would be louder in a car running off of a powerbass ASA 1500.1Dx amp (both would be 1500w rms at 1 ohm), two Fi BL 12's or one Fi BTL 15?
-
^This. There are people who spend thousands to gain a few tenths on the meter, so if $200 is worth the gain in output is up to you. Either way if you only have 1500 watts just get 2 SSDs or one BL, this will save you even more money. I'd go 2 SSDs because from your experience level you'll be better off with 2 subs sharing that power. If you plan to upgrade your power down the road by all means do BLs, but with your current amp they aren't necessary. what do you guys think if the I Heat Ring? worth getting or not?
-
first off i would not put 2 15" ones in, the whole point of going for a 15" btl over 2 12" bls is it would save me about $200. the website says i have 481 liters cargo capacity, its a pretty big trunk. i would like to know if its worth getting the btl 15 in comparison to my 2 type r 10s
-
okay thanks, so is there enough difference between the volume from 1 15 btl and 2 12 bls to warrant the $200 price difference? Right now i have 2 10" type r's in a prefab ported box and they are pretty loud. how much louder would 1 15" btl be in a ported box tuned for spl? would there be a night and day difference between the two? what vehicle is this going in? how much space do you have (volume)? haha by volume i meant sound output, but it is going into a 2000 ford taurus, so it has a ton of trunk space. my 2 10's take up probably less than a third of it haha by volume I meant volume (SPACE) in your car for an enclosure, not sound output... I definitely have the space to put a 3-5 cu ft box in my trunk. how much difference will there be between two bl 12's and one btl 15 on 1500 watts? will there be a night and day difference between the btl and my two type r 10s? also what does "Re: 0.7 Ohms/coil | 1.4 Ohms/coil" mean? does it mean that if i get the dual 2 ohms and wire it in parallel it will actually be .7 ohms instead of 1? its the voice coils resistance, not the impedance, so don't worry about it. one dual 2ohm speaker can be wired to either 1ohm or 4ohm. Two dual 2ohm speakers can be wired to 0.5ohm, 2ohm, or 8ohm. that makes sense. so what about sound output? (spl)
