How do i check if my electrical is okay? i assume il need another battery

I want to go huge, so im goin to. I would like to get: Sub-Fi BTL 15" or 2 12" Amp-Sundown Audio SAZ1500D or Soundstream DTR1.3400 Alt-Iraggi Battery-Xs power (size unknown) or kinetic I dont know what to do about electrical, i know am going to do the big 3, i also know i need a new alt prob. Please help me out here, i want it to be cheap but i want good quality stuff to, i also want to do really well, ive been to 3 SPL comps and there sick, i loved seeing wat people did with their cars and what not. If you think there is a better sub or amp, let me know for a speakers i wont pay more than 500 for one and 750 for 2, for a amp i will not pay over 1000. If you can help it will be greatly appreciated. Thanks Sam

I am goin to be buying either 12" or 15" speakers, i dont really know what to buy, do you recomend goin for 1 18" or 2 12s or even 2 15s? Money is a lil tight, but ive been trying to get a second one. I also need to know about a amp and a box so i know what i need to get and save (money wise). I was thinking for a amp, either a Soundstream or a Rockford Fosgate. If you think there is a better, cheaper and produces more power please let me know. My budget for speakers is about 800-850, then for a amp 500-700. For 2 12" BTL i think its 728 if im not mistaken. True, to perform at full potential, but on the same power it should be louder then the BL or Q. So if he already buys the btl he isn't going to change subs later, only amps. I love the "GO BIG, OR GO HOME" philosophy. I almost bought a BTL for the Jimmy instead of the SA-8's for that same reason. In all honesty, the reason I tried to talk him out of the BTL setup is simply because I'm affraid that once he starts down the road to a BTL he might decide to cut corners for cost, difficulty, or inpatience reasons. Then be either unhappy with the results or end up with broken equipment. The bigger the setup the more money AND time it takes to do it right, all of us with experience knows that. If he can get the enclosure built properly then the amp and electrical can come in time, true enough. My biggest concern is that like most younger people today (my little brother included) he'll not want to WAIT for things to run their course and everything be done correctly then be back on here asking why the sub blew or the amp fried. If he's in it for the long haul then I expect the results to be as fantastic as the rest of the great BTL installs I've seen. SAMZ, if you're sure you're ready then go for it. Haha yea i think im ready, i just will need some advising, however and luckily, i am a tech and clean freak wen it comes to wires and what not. Im glad you love my philosophy, its pretty bad sometimes but w.e at least im not a cheap ass haha

How can i turn my rear subs on and off? i ask this because at the moment i share a car until my mom gets a new one. Should i buy an equilizarer? How the hell do i build a box? Ive been trying to figure it out, because thats prob one of the things i should be doing because im trying to organize my money so i know what im buying. FYi, i am either making a box for a havoc or a btl, dunno yet, most likely a btl just for cost reasons. hope you can help

Yea, the btl is quite the beast, ive been looking into some designs, should i go ported for the beast or an othr type of box?

The question couldn't be any more vague. For starters, we haven't got a clue what your system does or will consist of. Some headunits have a feature built in that allows you to turn off the sub output. If your headunit doesn't have that feature, the 2nd most simple option is the install an SPST switch on the REM wire for the subwoofer amplifier. What? Is this a separate question, or related to the first question? You either design a box or have one designed for you, cut MDF to the appropriate dimensions and glue it together. First question-1 15" BTL, Audioque 2200D or Sundown Second-My question bout an equilizer is should i buy one because my headunit does not have a bass gain knob how do i figure out the demensions for a ported box? i know it has to do with the fs(hertz), qts and vas, but i dont know what to do with these numbers

What is a good voltmeter? My front speakers are very load and they can handle almost all the volume my deck can produce before becoming staticly, wat kind of 0ga wire? If you put an amp on your front speakers then they'll not only get louder without "static sound" aka distortion but they'll sound better (nothing beats a clean signal) You can either get a dmm digital multimeter for checking voltage and/or a lcd display voltmeter (such as the one made by stinger). I suggest buying both as a dmm is required in this hobby and the stinger voltmeter comes in handy when your inside the cabin and can actually watch the voltage. ya i will prob mak one, il prob need a guide, wat about remote gains such as a Clarion EQS746 to control the bass, i already have a pioneer deck, its pretty nice.

I cannot buy a 1000 dollar amp, would the Soundstream DTR.3400D be able to power 2 12" Fi BTLs?

first things first, should i order directly from the company or get the subs from a store. So what ive been looking at Ascendant Audio-Mayhem 18, Smd 18, and havoc 18 Fi-BTL 18 Rockford fosgate- Power 12 or 15, punch15 Then for amps i am looking at Soundstream-XXX, Refernce Rockford fosgate-Prime500-1, Punch400-1 I also dunno what are good amps, i alrdy have 10' pioneer subs in the car, and i have a 2005 toyota 4 runner Thanks Sam
