Pre-Order Inventory Due Shortly / New Shop Sneak Peek!
Alex01 replied to sundownz's topic in Sundown Audio
Congrats Jacob. The new shop is beautiful!!! I always knew that Sundown would blow up fast since 05,06.. You know Im Sold on all concepts Cant wait to get my hands on all the new toys .. Now we have to get a machine shop in there so Sundown Designs, tooling, proto testing machining etc can be done on site!!!! That way it will stay here and away from the overseas selllouts. Then certain companies and or people wont be able to BITE "copy" the product!!! I can see it now. Sundown Audio will be a self contained unit with some top secret ish going on. Yea I know it will take time and money but it will happen watch and see. Congrats on a veyr successful year. -

I love woofer prn lol!!! That is awesome. -
Jacob, This time when they bite it I hope it tastes like ish in their mouths. There will no 8" platform on the market that will be able to touch it. Nothing. The Regressive Spiders are just beautiful.Glad to see them actually being put to use in the real world. Also the new triple joint tooling. Can't wait to get my hands on this new tool. I'm ready for testing!!!! When you get a chance email me the projected TS if you have time. I would like to model it just too see what alignments I will be using on this platform.

No the score hasn't been verified by Jacob. Perhaps when I do finally get a chance to get the car up to him we will get all the verification you all need, I do understand that the score maybe unbelievable but, If you are in my area come by and I will show you. I love demoing this vehicle. I also have a new camera on the way as we speak. I will get more videos of the vehicle. I thought my score was crazy. Skip doing 48+ 's On a single SA. on 2 2500's In a SUV, now thats SICK. Or a Single SA8 doing 53's on a 3500.SICK!! Like I said. I was one of the first to post high numbers out of the trunk with a set of these. I guess that and what vehicle did it caused a stir. More and more people started posting huge numbers as well. Not only that, The SA sounds awesome to me. Im am in no way a SQ head. I could give a crap about all that. Just as long as they keep up with the front stage and get loud thats all i need. The car is at its limits as far as scoring goes. I seriously doubt I could get any more out of it. Unless I blew it completely threw. In no way the point of what I'm, going for in this build. Now that the car has been modified and its structure is where I need it. I see good numbers out of a number of test's Ive done in it. Single 15's etc. I will just keep quiet about that for now. The SA does a awesome Job on power handling. You just have to make sure you stay within its mechanical threshold and you will be fine. In no way do I recommend putting 2k a SA all day thermally, but for some demo's and lane runs they kill it. You have to be a complete retard to break the things. No doubt the SA is a history book sub. I keep getting questions about the enclosure. Its is a very simple 40 on 100 off axis. It has a modified internal collector along with a number of bolt up output chambers. The pictures that you all seen posted are not what the trunk looks like when everything is in there. Those were Install pics. Position/ and how it loads makes all the difference. Alot has been changed in the entire car. I may even change a few thing by the end of the year and have a set of NSv.2 12's on a strapped pair a 4500's. We will see. For right now I'm having fun tripping people out running a N.S. v2 15 on a bridged down 100.4!!!!!!!!!!!! Ask Old tomorrow night. He will be here tomorrow a friend of his.

I'm amazed...How in the world do the subs NOT blow? I know subs can handle burps but I cannot imagine him never playing them for at least 10 minutes....600RMS sub getting probably 2400... Anyone?? How do you keep a 600rms sub from blowing? I will show you when you come by on Saturday. People sleep on the SA. Well more then than they do now. You have to know what you are doing. If not then I don't care what the Driver is designed for, Either thermally or mechanically, if you don't know you can blow anything. Seriously you have do something real stupid and be a pure noobix to tear these things up. It goes a lot further then "oh X square on X air space @ XX cycles should do it on X amount of power. Way WAY more complicated then that.

Sundown will prove itself time and time again. Just to start the SA has proven itself to me personally well before " most " people started using them. There is no sub on the market for the price that can do what the SA does. If so send it to me and I can bet it wont last in my setup. Jacob has supplied us with the tools to get the job done... Not to mention the new tooling for the SA-8. It is very difficult to get a 8" platform to be stable mechanically etc. I cant wait to get them for some abuse testing. I'm 100% confident that they will kill it period. Russia's got in on lock down over there. Every build I see them do is mature and well thought out. Cabling is perfect, they pay attention to detail. Nothing but respect for Sundown in Russia. It would be awesome to fly out there and hang out for a week or two.
-
That was awesome!! Team Sundown Russia FTW!!

Seriously.. You will be fine with your electrical.. Big 3, upgrade your stock battery to a deka G34.. Wire correctly!! I would do 1 run Positive and 1 run Neg to the back dedicated. On that AP1500.1 You will be fine at 1 ohm. Just make sure you have the enclosure designed correctly and you will more then happy with the outcome.

That is beautiful Jacob!! SICK!! All the hard work pays off in the end doesn't it Spec's are in model now. I have something to play with! I like the Surround on the 18 as well!

finally got my loud daily driver up and running
Alex01 replied to hiloracerboy84's topic in Sundown Audio
Nice work. From experience the NSv.2 is awesome on daily. Of coarse its how you set it up. -
Beautiful!!

There you have it. More and more people are seeing that the SA are very capable of mind boggling scores. From trunks to SUV's,.Single, multi it doesn't matter. Around 3.5 to 4.5.... That smell is only bad for a short while, just excess burning off. Then it goes away. That is just letting you know that they are almost ready for some more. Seriously. It has since pretty much gone away. Just pay attention and they will last you forever. I just drop the volume, run 15 cycles on them and or outside of tuning and let that magic SA cooling do the trick. Absolutely impressive score
-
Again Beautiful. I personally back anything Jacob comes up with. From the SA's to the V.2's , D class power to A/B Class power and on ever since 2006. Seriously, I don't give a damn how crazy it may be. Im on it! Beautiful build just plan sick.
-
Beautiful!!!!
-
Thats beautiful. I always knew it would be. Maybe 2 45's on a set of 12's?
-
Nice for sure. I'm glad to see more and more people getting awesome scores out of the SA's. Should pretty much squash the whole "there is no way" talk I heard here and there. SUV too. Nice scores.
-
Throw a 4500 on them and call it a day.
-
Hahaha it was all my fault. I kept him out to late.
-
Jacob, All I have to say is, Just make sure they are paper coned.
-
Thats been changed. I just did that for quick testing. There are bolt terms on it now. Normally don't do it that way.
