I know I know

I see you got my exact point.

Wow Based on those measurements, the 12 and 15" XXX should be good contenders for the current RL-s. The motor force and sensitivity is about the same and both have linear(ish) motors.
-
Tell me that is that NOT the new $2300 RE 18" XXX???
-
Looks very handsome. is that dual 1" x 6.125" mags?
-
I don't know what VC the mag has nor have i heard or tested the new ones, so i can't say anything for cretin. I can make comments based off pictures and what I know from the parts that are obvious but that is hearsay.

The 5100 would be better with limited power. The 5100 can still move 2.5 to 3" peak to peak, more than most drivers, but its limit will show before the LMS-5400 or TC-5200 because its a smaller under hung coil with less x-max. However, the PA-5100 is about 5-6dB more efficient than the LMS-5400. For pure SPL it may not be a bad idea after all. Cars are very limited by power and secondly, power compression from amplifiers is a huge factor when you start talking about thousands of watts. You probably here about cars that have 10,000 watts.. even 100,000 or 200,000 watts absolute complete bullchit... These amps are constant voltage amps and when the voice coil heats up more and more, the voltage stays the same and the resistance rises... well it doest take a genius to guess the power will not rise... if you can use a driver that doest need as much power, because after all... excursion only gets you output down low. If this is truly for SPL at 35 or 40 or 50 or 60hz, then the PA-5100 would be the way to go! The new TC4-Radial motors are not even out yet, in fact they only exist in my PC right now. Here is a rendering.

CBFryman, I don't mean to sound rude, but I'm simply telling you, not debating. I think if I took a picture of the coils next to eachother you would understand.
-
Are you kidding? The 4HP's will walk over an MT.. much bigger motor, much larger coil, almost 3 times the power handeling. This MT that I reconed was blown with a 2500 amp. The 4HP will run cool off that wiht a sinwave at 20hz.
-
Why not just buy a TC driver? The 5000's are less money than the MT.
-
CBFryman, The tc3k is the 3HP motor, Both the TC9 and 3HP use a 3" diam vc. The 3HP motor is a little taller for a little more Bl and xmech About the MT
-
"bass" The SX has more motor for smaller boxes, most likely higher output with full power, the T2K will have better mechanical linearity

got the forums back online.. what a nightmare upgrade that was. Joe, did you get your driver?
-
Hey Joe, we'll make it up to you somehow, its been a rough take off here, I just had our damn forums hacked so I have to install new software tomorrow that I just bought and then spend another day on the skin. The parts have been a problem but they are all on their way. We have decided to improve a lot of the parts we have been using for our customers over the last few years and the more we get into it, the more we want to change. My goal is to have everything in stock ASAP, meaning a 1-2 day turn around for shipping. The TC-3000

Here is the install with Kicker subs. i will update it when I get the new box built. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2350773 <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Sounds like you need to EQ the drivers a little. Get some decent measurement equipment and try to flatten out the response. I'm sure once you do that you'll have the best sounding system you have ever heard!

We made the subwoofers for the Z3 if you got the upgraded stereo system. It was sold through sunfire, but we designed the mini sub. It was pretty bad ass. A little 5.25" active woofer with 2 passive radiators. The box was very tiny and made some pretty good bass for its size.
-
Thanks for the complements, I had flash installed and I was ready to do something interesting, but then I realized every time I went to kicker.com and soundstream and mtx, I just got annoyed. I think the kicker site is very nice btw. We have wanted to release our own product line for a long time and I finally kicked Thilo in the ass and got the site done for us. We have been working non stop on projects lately and pulling all night

3/4" MDF is plenty strong enough for the walls, but you need bracing, even with 1" or more you would still need bracing and if you don't you'll lose a lot of power from your subwoofer because that energy is going into moving that box, not creating sound waves. On the baffel go with a 1.25" or more.

My 12" Eclipse Titanium isn't hitting hard at all.

Believe it or not, the fact that your sub is loud inside and not outside is awesome! Basically if your car resonates or vibrates anywhere, it will leak sound outside from the inside kind of like a big passive radiator. This will inherently take energy away from the inside of the car (where you listen from), to the outside of the car (where you don -
"dry xbl^2" as in being so clean as to not have the "warmth" that most typical drivers have from the distortion inherient in their design. personally, it wasn't so much that as that the rl-p jsut flat out dropped lower, was just as crisp and fast and almost as loud for less money. and the rl-p isn't as box picky. and tom, your right, the new XXX is SG technology, not xbl^2. if believe it's a version of sorts of LMS (they can't use LMT anymore) wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee <{POST_SNAPBACK}> no, the xxx doest use our coil... at least they better not, lol.

We have some new stuff coming out, but you'll have to wait a week or so for our new website.

I dont know who owns that frame, but looks like that black one will do it. You really need to get a drawning of the basket and make sure hte spider is at least 10", it proably is based on the picture. good luck!

You have a PM with my source. I sent you an email on the 14th about this as well. I have every intent on staying in good terms with TC Sounds. Please get in touch with me via email (info *at* ologyaudio.com) or preferably via AIM: OlogyAudio. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Hey thanks, and if you need anything for your project, let us know.
