    my new rl-p

The box is supposed to be tuned to 30 hz. 2.5 cubes. I say supposed to be cause I bought the box, did not build it myself, and the guy said "its around 30 hz" when i asked him. Anyways, I am having troubles with the rl-p because it is severly drowning out my boston speakers (unamped). I guess thats what i get for buying an awesome woofer. I just purchased some focal 136k 5.25" components off of ebay to help this out a bit. I will amp them with something like 75-100 watts. Oh and about burning up the rl-p, i dont think that will happen cause I set my gains with a dmm using the sticky in this forum. 800 watts * 2 ohms=1600. Square root is 40 volts, so i set my gain at like 38 volts to be a tad conservative. Does that sound good to you guys?

    magnet weight

Hey mike, i got my rlp the other day. I had a question for you. The other sub i had in that box was a bit bigger (inner diameter), and when I put the rlp in, all of the screws caught except one. I think the hole is bad for sound output and stuff. Is there an easy way to plug the hole? Should I put a small amount of epoxy in the hole and let it seal? Other than that, the sub sounds great.

Her is something funny... Its the old sub that I am replacing with the rl-p...I went from a total piece of crap to one of the best!!! i am also looking at some focal components to keep up with the subwoofer. I currently have some of bostons worst coaxials, and they werent cuttin it with the old sub!! pics

sorry if i took it the wrong way, but it seemed like you were calling me an idiot or something with that smilie. I was just curious as to the magnets role in a subwoofers abilities.

    rl-p excitement

I have only a single 12 setup right now, so I was trying to get a great woofer to fill that requirement. I am a pretty big basshead, so I wanted something that pounded as well as sound nice. Does anyone know what I can compare this sub too? Is it up in class with a brahma or a w7? My understanding is yes, it is. Thats why i went with this woofer at 273 shipped. Its a steal!

    rl-p excitement

Whats up guys im new here...I post at carstereo.com alot. I recently bought an rl-p from mike at ss, and just want to say that if the sub sounds as good as his customer service is, I will be impressed!! I get the sub saturday or monday, and I cant wait. I had an aw1205n from audiocrap and I blew it within a day. I had it runnin at 1200 watts at 1 ohm, it couldn't handle it. I am going to run the rlp at 800 watts at 2 ohms. Mike said that would be enough to make the thing slam. Does anyone else run about 800 on their rl-p? Does it pound?

    rl-p excitement

yeah I am going to be runnin it at a 2.5 cube box tuned to 30 hz. That would be great from what mike said. I was a little upset by the fact that my shipping got messed up on this order, and then mike told me I would get it on probably monday, but he emailed me yesterday and said it wouldnt be here till wednesday
