eh dont think you are giving the bl its "SQ" credit. for the average person who mainly listens to mp3's it has good enough sq. I haven't heard a Q but i have heard a idmax and a AA avalanche. and based off of memory i would easily through it in the same category. it also had much better top end bass than those ported and can still drop like a bagged impala as far as the 30 hz range is concerned. a lil eq cutting and it can "blend" in easily

I haven't done any sounddeading yet. the only really bad rattle you hear on my car are the sides mirrors. when i open the door they stop. would CLD on the doors stop this(i guess by preventing the vibration from reaching the mirrors) or is there any way to deaden the mirrors without seeing anything extra on them. they are the foldable mirrors by the way

if i recall correctly they are basically built by the same people as Audiobahn, current Alphasonic,Digital Audio ect. Speaking of which i was working at a local audio shop for a week (business was entirely to slow to have 3 installers) and they had a brand of subs called fuel audio which was made by digital audio that were packaged in plastic like something that would be hanging on a rack in the store. unfortunately selling cheap crap like this is the bread and butter that keeps most stereo shops still open.

pasmag is alright. seems to be way more focused on "tuner" cars than audio installs. Even though i didn't agree with alot of thier viewpoints (say sealed sounds better than ported but talking about a 40-45hz fart box, saying a 10" sub is louder than a 15" sub without stating that is everything else in the install is the same while giving each sub its optimal box size/tuning the 15" version of a sub would 99% of the time be louder than the 10" barring a trunk install where the bass cant effectively enter the cabin.) i liked CA&E better because it was more based on showcasing install rather than bieng basically import tuner back when they put "full" cars with audio installs in the mag

"What Hurts The Most" Bass Remix?
rysc86 replied to ford302redneck's topic in Computers / Electronics / Music / Games
yeah thats normal. that song brings back memories to me to. not good memories but memories all the same. Listening to Eamon's "i don't want u back" helped me get over ex's -
the whole underpowering speakers are bad thing is a half-truth. it will only damage your speakers if you try to make up for your lack of power by excessive gain,bass-boost, boosted eq or pretty much sending them a clip or distorted signal. i would also suggest getting a custom box followed by more amplifier power b4 worrying about more subs
-
another suggestion to confuse you somemore. Hybrid Audio Technologies Imagine. run for 250 and can be brought from 12voltelectronics authorized.

damn what the point of the argument? he just said he liked the skars more than the w6's he had. he didn't even say they where better he just said HE liked them better. not everybody likes the sound of pure sq. some people like to actually know there is a sub back there, want a slightly peaky response, ect.

there is a warranty but it doesn't cover stupidity so get your settings right regardless. the bl is very musical. I have had a a 12" idmax and a 15" avalanche in sealed and ported enclosures in the past and haven't noticed any real lost in "sq" by running the bl. it sounds closer to a flat response than those to did in a ported box. The bl still has a hump in 30-40hz range but it doesn't seem so much as it lacks on the topend but the lows are just so heavy if that makes sense

are they good for getting noise out of your system if the typical "move grounds, switch rca's ect" dont work?
-
nevermind. i read the article" why imagine series don't have a outboard crossover" and found out that the crossover is only for the tweeter and not the mid.
-
I'm considering getting the HAT Imagine 6.5 component set. I want to run them actively (using a deh860mp) but it appears the crossover is built on the midrange. I know i can simply bypass the connection to the crossover for the tweets but what about the mids?

well i'm going to need to deaden the doors once or before i get a real front stage in my car i'm going to need to deaden the door anyway.I .probally will put some CCF between the mirror and where it mounts to the car I do believe i need to deaden my rear deck. my substage is a Fi BL firing through the rear deck. on higher bass notes, which should be more directional, it blends pretty good with my current crappy front stage and gives upfront bass (u have to cut it off to really tell its on) but u can tell its back there when it drops which i think is from it rattling stuff back there. i also am going to need a shit load of MLV since i want this crown vic as quiet as my dads lexus.
-
sub enclosure has a plexi window so it would be seen when trunk is popped. I might go for it on the BL, just a lot off shit that needs to be taped off. I know i'm going to paint my ava since it needs a recone anyway.
-
I thought about painting the basket on my subwoofer. I wonder would preventing the paint to get through the vent windows on the bottom of the basket be a issue when painting the basket of a speaker that is still working. I figured i ask before i try and if it would be bad i would just paint the basket on the avalanche i need to recone.

I compared the contents of the trueprotien.com protien vs the ON 100%standard whey i got now. seems like a little bit better product for a little bit less that what i pay for the ON at bodybuilding.com. what really intrigued me is the other supplements you sell such as the Arginine, BCAA, alpha gpc ect. My opinion which i derived from the movie "bigger faster stronger" and little common sense is that alot fo the fancy supplements, NO xplode, jack3d, white flood ect. are just overpriced mixtures of basic supplements that are actually dirt cheap. since the main thing you are paying for is thier 5 page spread in Flex magazine. anyway you're site seems like a source where i can buy the basic supplements and mix my own pre workout, intra workout supplements ect. I mixed a scoop of instant coffee, emptied the contents of 2 500mg arginine capsules i brought from dollar general into a protein shake and had more energy and focus then any preworkout i've ever taken.

sorry i do have the habit of doing that. Must be because i haven't had to really write anything since 2004. I learned a shit ton from t-nation.com. I don't follow there supplement advice since the site is owned by biotest so there is is a obvious bias for the writers to tell you to use their supplements. I don't feel like editing that post so i will put everything in a nutshell. Most people who aren't already "Jacked" and or strong as fuck should focus on heavy multi-joint compound movements such as squats, deadlifts, bench press, overhead press, bentover rows, cleans, pull ups ect. Then do limited amounts of isolation and machine exercises after they have done the main lifts if at all. Kind of like how when you design a stereo system you should focus on good equipment, sounddeading, well designed box and other factors of the install before you worry about using the eq, and time alignment. You shouldn't do crunches, ab twists or any ab gadget they sell on tv (minus the ab wheel that is actually a damn good ab exercise) because you are basically training the muscles to do motions they were "designed" to resist against. The purpose of the abs is to keep your spine in its natural arch no matter how you move your body or what kind of load is on your body. You are doing the exact opposite of this during crunches, ab twists ect. so how are they helpful? Form is important for both safety and maximum performance. small tweaks in form can make your lifts go up instantly. since mainly of us make vids of our stereo systems, make vids of yourself doing various exercises and compare them to vids on the 'net of people doing them with proper form to make sure your form is good. A mixed grip and chaulk are better than straps because "its all you" vs using a aid. powerlifters don't use straps and neither should you. G I joe kung fu grip is a important thing to have in life. You can't use straps to help your buddy load his 20 cube 4 18" box in his suv can you? My post isn't directed at anyone in particular, just from what i have noticed browsing through this thread

isn't planet fitness the gym with the "lunk alarm" that doesn't allow you to grunt? seems like a pretty pussy gym to me. Some say the best gym's you can go go to look like crackhouses with weights in them (a lot of huge/strong bodybuilders/powerlifters started out in gyms like this) all you really need is one with squat racks, glute ham raise bench (wish mine has one of these)free weights, basic cable. you really don't need a fancy one with a bazillion elipticals, treadmills , chrome plated everything ect. and you're going to pay more for these frills as far as stinky people go that depends is it the haven't had a shower in weeks, hobo smell or the sweaty funk? if you smell clean as a daisy after a training session you werent working hard enough

In the vid of the girl squatting did anyone else get a "vibe" that the back spotter wanted to grab her tits? especially since his hands were open and not in fists. Parallel is the minimum of how u should do squats purely for exercise. you have to go ass-to-grass in powerlifting and those couple inches do make a big difference in how much you squat so audibel customs bringing up the point she didn't go parallel is a valid critique. like i do question whether a certain person's 500 is a legitamite parallel or lower squat since they only dead 405 and unless you are a powerlifter who uses a suit you are supposed to dead more than you squat especially at 5'9 unless you have really long legs compared to your torso which doesn't happen that often at that height

not being judgemental but just giving advice. the reason some of you are having trouble gaining size/strength is that it seems you're doing the crap muscle&fitness ect tells you to do. that stuff is for people who have already developed a good level of size and strength, meaning just looking at them you can tell they train and have been doing so for a while. A average joe doing those workouts is like putting a jbl MS8 on a factory system in a american car from the 90's. it can help to some degree but you need to build a better foundation first. Looking at alot of the workouts posted there seems to be to much focus on isolation exercises and machine work. search for mark rippletoes "starting strength". its a program that focused on squat, deadlift, bench press, overhead press and pullup/clean/bent-over row. with some optional iso's done after the barbell work. didn't take me long to be "working out" with my old 1 rep maxes from high school on this program. another issue is that u need to study and perfect your form. people on these stereo forums love posting vids of excursion pron, door/window/windshield flex ect. Take that same camera and record your self doing lifts and compare with vids of people doing them with good form. try searching youtube for dave tate, elitefts, t-nation for vids of correct form. good form makes a night and day difference on how much do you lift besides "just" keeping u safe. Crunches are pretty much a waste of time. the limited range of motion doesn't really stimulate the abs regardless of the burn. the purpose of the abs are to keep the spine in its natural arch and the purpose of the obliques is to prevent rotation so how are u strengthening them by making them do the motions they are designed to prevent? On the safety videos they show u when u start a job involving manual labor they tell you not to twist your back when you move something from side to side but move your feet in order to prevent back injuries, right? so why should u do that as a form of exercise? smarter ab exercises are plank variations, woodchoppers, palof press, windshield wipers, dragonflies ect. the man with the world record for situps doesn't even have a 6 pack. a 6 pack is a indicator of leanness, nothing more, nonthing less. that why weak scrawny teenagers can have them and why most word strongest man competitos dont even though the strongman man's abs vs the teenagers is like a f-350 vs a geo metro. there is a saying that 6packs abs are made in the kitchen. You really shouldn't use straps since they are basically a crutch for your weak grip. you should try fat bar work (either by attachments to make the bar thicker or simply wrapping a towel around the bar) plate pinches where you hold 2 ten pound plates between your thumb and the rest of your fingers for time. a mixed grip (one hand overhand the other underhand) and chalk works wonders for your grip. My grip is actually better this way then when i used straps. be sure to switch which hand is over/which is under causes it does cause a wierd uneven pull on your back muscles. don't use gloves either they hurt grip by making the bar slightly "thicker" to be on topic yesterday dumbell swings 3x8 overhead press 3x5 (even though i have huge shoulders i suck at these, still havent went past 175lbs and that was 6 weeks out from starting doing them) deadlift 5,5,3 palof press 3x10 each sides 30 mins of walking on treadmill later today sledgehammer work tire throwing work weighted tire drags

Looking to get some better front stage going...
rysc86 replied to Shogen's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
im interested well pretty much sold on those vibe space 3d's i'll probally get them as soon as i get the funds -
to get it loud enough you will probally need to port it. when you build really small ported enclosure most of the enclosure space and volume it taken up by the port since it will be so long. youll probally take up less gross space running a larger 10 or 12 sealed. to run ib you would need as much cone area as u and your rear deck ect can afford since u are relying so much on sd to create output
