Hello im Marco, I was the one that inquired about the amount of x 10's that were still available. I wish you had said the words "quite a few" in your reply to me, because all I got was an unassured answer, if you had told me there were 3 or 4 left I would have them sitting in front of me by now, but instead I invested my money into some Diamond CM3's (back when Diamond was still worth a damn) that im looking to get reconed. Instead you talk about Chinese tolernces and what you think you may or may not know. Oh btw, here's the email to refresh you since you were'nt sure of what I WROTE in the email. I'll just take my chinese subs and my business elsewhere, looks like you dont need it with that attitude. From: Fi Car Audio Sales <[email protected]> Marco, I think we may have a few left. If you order it and we do not have the parts we will simply refund you. I will probably pull them off of the website today or tomorrow. Please let me know if I can help with anything else. Thanks, Nick Fi Car Audio ----- Original Message ----- From: Marco To: [email protected] Sent: Monday, January 03, 2011 8:34 AM Subject: Black Fi Day Sale Are you guys still doing this sale, because it's still up on your website, but someone on the SSA forum said you had no subs left. I was interested in getting 3 or 4 of the old 10 inch x models. Pleasde let me know asap, im very interested. Thanks. Marco

Making my own aero's out of PVC and MDF for 9515, any input or adv

This will be a daily setup, no comps. But i will keep that advice in mind if i do decide to enter some comps considering Jacob just sent out my 2nd SA-8 today. My original plan is to do 2 sundown 8's in a middle console, which will more than likely still happen, but i stumbled upon this 9515g for $200 with a 5.5 cubic foot ported box. The box was built for an Explorer, but that didnt stop me from sitting it onto the front benchseat (just replaced with bucket seats). I drove to my nearest parking lot and gave it a listen on my Bass Mekaniks cd, it bothered my friends throat a good deal and tickled mine. Some of the higher bass notes sounded like arse and i had the LPF set at 120ish, so maybe when i finally get it installed back in the truck i will just set the LPF at 80. I am willing to go up 20 inches tall on the box and still have complete visibility through all windows with some to spare. -

http://viewmorepics.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=viewImage&friendID=132400802&albumID=2763&imageID=2744141#a=2763&i=2744141 Wow, i went and dug up my Myspace page that i havent been on in months. The box im about to build will be shaped like the one in the first 5 pics, you just have to click next to see the others. This pic and the next 4 or 5 are pics of my first attempt at a middle console box with amp rack. I think that was also my first slot port attempt also. I look back at this thing and wonder how the hell i got it to sound so damn loud with that chopped up piece of.......box?lol, i put that sub in a custom built truck style wedge box, put it in my wifes trunk only to hear dissapointment. ( I tried inserting my myspace pics on here, but it wouldnt work) -

Oh yea, why do you think im asking about aero's, lol. I just installed bucket seats to replace the split bench seat. 4 cubes is a guesstimate. I may have to butt it up to the backseat, which will never be used since my sons car seat sits in the middle. It's gonna be about 16" tall, 16" wide at the front tapered down to about 14 in the back, and about 36" to 40" long which still leaves leg room. Im gonna put a notch in the bottom of the back of the box for port clearance. I could go 3 cubes, but reading through some forums tells me the sub only likes 4 and up for anything but SPL, and 4 is still closer to the spl side, but thats all i got. I did the same thing in my standard cab chevy, but with 3 or 3.5 cubes gross( only 14 tall and 13 wide), and the sub downfiring right over the transmission tunnel right in front of the seats and the port facing out of the rear on the bottom. That setup was awesome, and then i put it in the wifes car because i was buying a new truck and stripping the old one. I stumbled upon this 9515 on Craigslist for a VERY GOOD DEAL, that's the only reason i have a sub that doesnt really fit my application. But 2 Sundown SA-8's(my original plan) will fit perfectly, im just waitin for Jacob to get my second one back to me so i can finally hear what 2 sound like, ,i was actually dissapointed with only 1 and all the hype i've been fed, but it could be my box. I have plenty of MDF layin around, so i'd like to build a decent box for this 15, and if i fall in love with it, i'll swap the 2512 in the back of my wife's car for the 8's. -

Good deal, i figured it should work very well considering it's the same concept, just different materials and technique. Do you have any input on 3 - 4" ports. I went ahead and bought 5 foot of 4" pvc, so that gives me 20 inches plus an inch of baffle a piece. I've tried the calculators online, but since DD's boxes dont seem to be quite as normal as others, the port calculators are often wrong for DD's slot ports. Anyone with firsthand experience using a DD 15" and 3 - 4" ports? -

hello all, my name is Marco, this is my first posting. I have recently gotten my hands on a DD 9515g d2. I've never had a sub this massive and i've never used aero ports. Im a DIYer to the max, which is why i created this thread. My purposes with this sub is for DAILY ""SQL"". Im working with either a SAE-1000 or my old MTX 1501d and hope it will run at 1ohm after my BIG 3 upgrade, either one will suffice. So here's my project. Im building a middle console box for my full size Chevy ext. cab. I've already done one in my old standard cab fullsize with a 2512 d4 with the 1501d on it and it the output was incredible. Im gonna try to get 4 cubes with ports into this thing, that way there will still be leg room in the back. I've always built SLOT port boxes and i will not have room for a slot in this setup. Did some research and found out i could save 50% of port with aero ports. There's no way i want to pay for those massive 6 inch aero ports at $40 a piece. I can make my own for a lot less, but i know they wont sound as good. Here is my plan as stated in the title. I can make a baffle board and use my router to cut out the size of the 4" pvc pipe i intend on using. Do you guys think 3 4" ports are enough for the 9515? The plan is to cut a 1/4" recess for the outer diameter of the pipe so it can fit into the baffle, and then cut the remaining 1/2" of thickness to inner diameter of pvc so the mdf baffle will be smooth with end of the pvc pipe. Then i would round over the 3/4 thick baffle like the flare on the aero ports. I may even have to double up the baffle to get enough thickness to make a very mellow roundover. I would repeat the same process for the outside of the box where the ports will be placed. I know it wont be as nice as aero ports, but it will be better than having to put a huge slot port in the box. I just bought 2 different circle guides for my router, so i can cut anywhere from 1" to 19". I cant wait to start cuttin beautiful round circles, beats trying to be perfect with a jigsaw. Any suggestions, input, advice or whatever have you, are all welcome. I can draw out an example and upload a pic of it . Can i upload pics to the forum from my comp, or do i have to import from a website like photobucket? If you've read down this far, thanks for bearing with me, i try to be as informative as i can, helps cut down on useless ?'s and forum space
