I have a 2.2L 2002 Oldsmobile Alero and am having a tough time finding a high output alternator bigger than 150amps. I'm just wondering if somebody has this car and purchased one, I called a place and they said an alternator made for a 1999-2002 Chevy cavalier MIGHT FIT, so that's a take a chance and hope you're right. I am running 2000 watts right now, my alternator fried today and have been searching for hours trying to find one but nothing comes up. I figure I might as well get one now instead of wasting $100 to get a new 105amp one. Otherwise would a second battery work after the big 3 upgrade? I have 2 1000 watt alpines and 2 pioneer premiers ts-w3004spl but will be getting 2 15" Fi BL's as soon as pioneers are sold, also have an upgraded battery already. -Also have searched forum for answers but not are100% clear for my setup-

Yeah before i got y new battery my voltage was horrible and I fried my kenwood amps. Both of them lol. That's when I got my alpines and a new battery. But thanks for the advice everyone! It's like 110% clear what I'm gonna do now.

Good point I don't but I do know someone who does so I guess I will check it out. More than likely it will be 800 watts at 12.8 his alpine does somewhere around there at a very minimum of like 12v

Yeah I never liked the idea of strapping, if u don't do it right u can kiss your subs goodbye lol. But yeah I forgot 2ohms is easier on the car but would 2 2ohm subs be better than a single 1ohm stable sub doing the same watts rms

I have 2 subs and 2 amps. So 1 amp is pushing 1 sub each sub is dual 4ohm so each sub is wired to 2ohm so each amp is doing 1000 watts rms so 2000 in total. To make everything clear lol.

Lol I pretty much max them out 90% of the time and my job requires no freeway all highway with stop lights and my stock alternator puts out 105amps which isn't actually terrible for a stock alt. My caps voltage says I dip below 12.8 about 50% of the time now especially listening to young jeezy or lil Wayne lol. But that's w/o the big 3.

Will have to do thanks. So the big 3 and another battery would work fine then?

Wait.. a local shop that claimed they can "beef up a stock alternator" and it worked?? -- first i heard of this. A friend actually did this, it was spendy, not as much as a brand new h/o! But only upgraded a little bit but maybe I will just do the big 3 add a second battery and do that. I plan on getting bigger amps eventually down the road but maybe I'll have a new car/suv by then with more cargo room lol.

Yes that is my amp the good ol' mrp-m1000 and I have 2 of them with a capacitor, yes I have a 30 farad capacitor as a voltage meter and looks. I know it basically does nothing without any other upgrades but hey it looks cool. Also my battery is the D34/78 the first one on that list!

as in I had it in my garage uninstalled and it was stolen from my garage, I know what the big 3 is.

Thanks I decided to make a first post lol. In order: 2000 watts RMS cea2006 certified so no bullshit lol. My only battery is a yellowtop something, I just rememember it was the best they had at pep boys in stock so unsure of the brand anymore. It was $230 if that helps lol. Also no i haven't done any big 3 yet because the wiring got stolen..
