    RL-P box

I should be receiving my 12" RL-P tomorrow sometime and would like to try and get the box built for it this weekend. I've read more times than I can count that the RL-P loves to be ported, so that is definately the type of box I am leaning towards. And I want to try donwfiring since it will be in an extended cab truck. I should start by saying I have very limited dimensions but can still get the required space. The dimensions I can use are, no more than 26" high, 21" across, and 14" deep up to about 14" high and 10" deep from there up. Kinda hard to visualize? shape would kinda resemble a chair. My questions are as follows: With downfiring would the port direction matter? I can do to the passenger side, forward or up (up being the hardest to get the right length) By SS website 1.5 cuft with 20 sq in of port is what I should shoot for, but would I be better off with 21.25 sq in of port or closer to 30 sq in? Those are pretty much my two options as far as port area go due to the limitations of my truck. Would a tuning frequency of 32Hz be okay or are there better suggestions? (music taste is just about everything) Thats the only questions I can think of right now, I'll post anymore that may come to mind.

    RL-P box

Sub came in today and it looks great. I had no idea these were so heavy. I put it in a 1 cuft box just to get a listen and it sounds okay in that. (didn't get to do much listening) Does anyone have any suggestions on the port firing direction?

    RL-P box

Thanks for the quick reply and all the helpful info there. After playing around with more numbers I can get the net volume between 1.8-1.9 after displacements and a 30Hz tuning. If there is a way to increase low end at 32Hz and 1.5 cuft please let me know, as I could possibly go that route. Hopefully tomorrow I will have sometime and I can see if I can squeeze anymore room outta the space I have. The truck is a Nissan frontier king cab (extended cab)
