Has anyone had experience with these? I have read that the scs line is the ones to get if any but was wondering what people have to say about the components in general. Will be most likely looking at the 5.25" comp set possibly a 6.5" set.

Does anyone have any opinions on these components?

I noticed a difference going from a 13ov2 to my 12 rlp. Not much output wise cause the rlp is still sealed for now. But SQ wise I like it alot. I would say to build a ported box for the 13kv2s first, if still not enough upgrade then

So I guess the design is pretty solid? should the enclosure be touching the floor on all sides or is leaving the front part open like like more ideal?

Does the direction the port is facing matter very much? What would the best direction be in this setup? 12" RL-p downfiring in an extended cab nissan frontier. The box will be ~2cubes tuned to ~30Hz. Would it be better to fire out the side towards passenger side, out the top, or forward toward drivers seat. If anyone has experience with this truck specifically that would be great, but just ideas would work.

Basically, I am contemplating the carputer idea heavily and will be looking for ideas as far as EQing and setting the system up. I want it headunitless, so an external unit is needed. Is there something out that has all the features of an active type of headunit? (think TA etc...) Any ideas post them up, the carputer is only in the early stages but I will be putting everything together in pieces. Help me out here

Would any of the Alpine pxa series stuff work the same, or are there MAJOR differences that would make someone lean towards the newer 701? I am definately liking these things and they seem to be highly recommended, even if I decide to stay with a headunit and not the carputer.

thats what I am doing at the moment with my 10's <{POST_SNAPBACK}> How do you like the sound with the port facing the passenger side? I have had it that way before with subs facing forward, but it was my first box ever and I think that had a big role in me not liking it. I think I'm going to draw up a couple different plans and see which I like better. If one doesn't sound good I could always build another box....

So, you think a single 4" round port would work? Hmmmm.... I think that is what I'll go with then and probably try side firing or on the same plane as the sub. Rear firing the port is definately out because the box will be right against the back wall. Ok so what I'm getting by hand and bass box pro is a 4" port with about 16" length. One more quick question, the volume displaced by the round port, bass box pro is showing ~.15 cuft with a PVC pipe of .25" thick, sound about right?

From what mike told me on my thread asking around the same question, if you go with a 1.5cuft box tuned to 32Hz it will get a bit louder, but you can go 2.0cuft tuned lower for low end and increase output with the larger box. http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/forum/i...?showtopic=5399

Well it will be a slot port I am sure. Although I haven't looked at using a round port on this box mainly because I think it maybe too long. Haven't gotten a length on a round port though. edit: a round port (or 2 in this case) is out of the question. It will be too long

I have always done that and heard that before too. But I'm not sure if it is the same for a downfiring box (never done one before).

Heh..... the eD sounds ok but doesnt last like you would hope reading everything over on ICIX. Were good subs but not great. Hoping the RL-p is great so I don't have to buy any new subs for a little while and finish the rest of things. Again, GO FOR THE RL-P!!!!!

Hmmmm.... deal with the cost doesnt sound to enticing. Anyone know of anything else?

I have actually owned the eD subs before, 9kv.2s and 13ov.2s, now I own a 12" RL-p and love. My RL-p in a crap box sounds as good as my 13ov.2 did in a proper box off of the same power. Go with the RL-p

I know my nine.1 is a good little amp and I have not had any problems with it, but at the same time I am looking for other amps and maybe looking to sell/trade the nine.1 sometime soon. If you can find them used with a warranty I would use it. Kind of like a Hyundai, longest warranty available but only because they are built to use it.....
