removable battery, best way to do it?
deernet replied to antonmiller's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
got any for 2/0? lol They make all kinds of disconnects like that. I'm thinking about the ones for the electric tow motors at work, it looks like what john posted. Those tow motors have like 18 or 20 12 volt batteries. They plug into a charger, that has 2/0 or bigger cable. I would try to find something like that. -
Anyone know where to get the chrome covers for the older RF punch amps
deernet replied to deernet's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
EXACTLY like that. I'm pretty sure they are interchangeable. I just need the bottom one though. And to Brandon, I'm sure it didn't sell for that... -

Alpine deck plays tuner but not cd's or ipod.
deernet replied to Dpaw37's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Agreed. I've had a similar problem, I don't think it was an Alpine HU though. I messed with it forever before I read the manual and figured it out. -
budget:600 dollar laptop
deernet replied to lithium's topic in Computers / Electronics / Music / Games
I got my grandma a 15" Dell with I think a 2.2ghz processor, 500 gig HD, 4 gigs RAM, and Windows 7 for $549 at Walmart. It was a little over $600 after tax. I thought it was pretty nice though. It doesn't compare to my new laptop though. Mines about 5 months old. Dell 17" 2.66 ghz dual core processor, 4 gigs ram, 320 gig HD (fixing to upgrade to dual 600 gigs), bluetooth, etc. I gave $1200 for mine, but I think its worth it. -
Initial Settings, PLEASE HELP, Totally Confused !!!
deernet replied to MikeT66's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Miller, If I use the HU for my settings what should I set the amp settings too or does it matter??? Yes, you've got to set the amp too. Be careful with the gain. -
Does Sundown make the Incriminator amps?
deernet posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I was going through Incriminator Audio's site, and checked out their amplifiers. I noticed that they look awfully similar to the Sundown amps. Just wondering if Sundown makes Incriminator's amps. Tried searching and didn't come up with anything. -

Does Sundown make the Incriminator amps?
deernet replied to deernet's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Well, Incriminator doesn't have any internal pictures, but the case on the 20.1 looks similar to the SAZ-2000, and the demensions are also similar. -
As much as JL shit costs, I would hope its millions.

I appreciate the advice. I didn't get to work on it yesterday because I had to go see about a job. I've already got all my MDF cut to size, and I took my plexi and had it drilled. I had it drilled before I saw this post, so the holes are in 2x2" from each corner. I didn't figure that flexing would be a problem since its 3/4", but I could be wrong. I'll also use the liquid nail like you said. Thanks for the help

Rockford Fosgate FTW! I got my T1500-1bd from ebay for $395 shipped brand new.

I'd say that the turn your head unit to as high as you normally use it, and SLOWLY turn the gain up until you hear unloading or distortion would be the best bet, and not to kid yourself about hearing the distortion, be honest with yourself. Also, SEND IT TO FI! THEY CAN FIX IT BETTER THAN ANYONE! THEY BUILT IT IN THE FIRST PLACE!

Bump, I'd like to get anyones opinion on mounting my plexiglass. I'm fixing to take it to a glass place to have them drill 1/4" holes in it. Thanks.
-
I'm interested to know how you attached the plexi. I'm building a box (hopefully this weekend, got my plexi today), for a 18" BTL. I'm using 9x18 pieces of 3/4" plexi. My plan for attaching them was to drill holes about 2x2" inside from each corner and bolt it to the MDF, then put double pieces of 3/4 MDF where the plexi is going as to make it sit flush. Have any better ideas?

You can't wire two speakers with 2 ohm dual voice coils to 1 ohm. You can either wire to .5 ohm, 2 ohm, or 8 ohm. Subwoofer Wiring Diagrams, Two 2 ohm Dual Voice Coil (DVC) Speakers

looking buy a stereo that plays cd mp3s,am fm radio and my ipod
deernet replied to ExplicitYourSelf's topic in Home Audio
I'm pretty sure you used to be able to get a SoundBlaster PCI card with FM radio for pretty cheap. Haven't looked at them lately though. -
If its inaudible, there wouldn't be much of a reason to do it either, IMO. I don't think it would significantly increase SQ, but I'm no expert. I'd say putting 45s in the corners would give you more of a difference in SQ if your going ported.

Yup, got the second one today. Starting to get a little worried they might finally cut me off. I've got cable internet through Charter now, I'm glad that our power company offers fiber optic internet, I'm just not sure if its available here yet. I'm hoping I won't end up getting kicked off. I haven't downloaded anything in awhile. The DMCA notices were for "The Crazies", and "Repo Men". I always run PeerBlock 1.0, and I'm sure it was running when I downloaded those titles, because I've got it set to run at startup. I'm not sure what else I could do, other than find some more lists for PeerBlock. I think on the DMCA notices it lists the IP numbers of who identified me, I'll be sure to add them to my PeerBlock list. When I lived with my dad I used the fiber optic internet from the power company, and never had any problems. I might just switch to them anyways. I'm also planning on calling the cable company and denying everything and saying some must have been stealing my wireless internets! Any other ideas on what I can do to protect myself?

I'd never thought about that, but your 100% right. I guess if you didn't seed it would reduce your chances of being logged, wouldn't it?

I just read the same thing on a few places. And I was just suggesting it may not be suitable, not everyone wants to be affiliated with illegal ripping, I mean I have done it and gotten caught, and paid a lot to get out of it, just looking out so no need to be defensive. Not getting defensive at all. People talk about a lot of stuff other than car audio. There is a thread about liquor above mine, does that mean SSA is affiliated with booze? As stated before, I'm not recommending anyone take part in anything, or aiding them in doing so. Just telling people about a letter I got in the mail. Edit: This is also on the front page, guess that means SSA is affiliated with anorexia.
-
Nope, no threats of legal action. Basically, it just says if it continues they will suspend or terminate my internet service.
-
Umm... Its not like I'm giving out links or anything. I'm not affiliating anyone with anything.
-
Awesome thread, this is going to really help me on my door panels.

Can't buy them until they come out on DVD. Wait for them to come out on DVD? The Crazies was terribly awful anyways. I thought it was pretty good personally. Just me though.
