I've never had any issues before, and I used to download a LOT of movies. I think its just the really new ones they keep an eye on. I had "The Lovely Bones" before it was even in theaters, and it was a DVD quality copy. I thought that movie was awesome BTW. I don't get why my PeerBlock didn't catch it unless the IPs just aren't known yet.

Can't buy them until they come out on DVD.

There's no need to post the same topic in multiple forums, and I'm pretty sure its against forum rules also. Adequate for those batteries would be over 200 amps I would think. Call Mechman or XS Power and ask, that would be your best bet.

I'm pretty sure its against forum rules to post the same topic in multiple forums. Your question was answered multiple times in the other thread. Nathan: Are Mechman and XS Power the same company? I ordered a HO alternator from Mechman, and noticed that your both in Knoxville, and Mechman sells XS Power. If I buy a XS Power battery, can I pick it up in Knoxville to avoid having to pay shipping? I'm in Morristown, so I'd say it would save me some money. Thanks for the help.

Dude, that would be PLENTY of battery power as long as you have an adequate alternator to keep them charged.

I want to make some MDF speaker rings that look something like this: But I want the 6.5 and tweeter to fit flush with the mount. Should I just use two pieces of 1/2, and make the inside ring the mounting diameter, and the top piece the outside diameter of the speakers, then glue them together? I may just have to do some experimenting. I'm going to try and mount them in the door in place of the stock 5x7s. I've been thinking of fiberglassing them into the doors, and I probably will in the future, but I just need something temporary right now since the XXX 6.5s will be here tomorrow, along with my BTL. All I'm waiting on to build my sub box is two 3/4"x9"x18" pieces of plexiglass and some super bright LEDs to come via UPS. I plan on doing pretty much the same thing with the plexi, and the mount on the sub box, using two pieces of 3/4, and making them flush. I think I'll just paint it so I don't have to mess with carpet. I'm just going to sand the corners down real good, maybe get a can of bondo and go over the screw holes, spray it, sand it, spray it again, and be done with it. I'm not trying to win any beauty contests. I'm sure it should look fine. I'm using the 18" optimal enclosure for the X-CON on the site here. Its going to take up the whole cargo area of my Explorer. I'm also going to have half the backseat folded down and somehow bolt down a plexiglass amplifier rack. It should be badass. All I've got is a cell phone camera and a ipod nano camera, so I can't post good pictures, but I'll post some videos when its done.

I bought some 1/0 wire from him a while ago also. Very happy with the transaction.

So I want to make some MDF speaker rings...
deernet replied to deernet's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
Yeah, I was planning on using 3/4 if I do it out of a single piece of wood. I just wasn't clear on how to flush mount using a single piece. Thanks for clearing it up for me guys. -
Oh okay, my bad. I just saw "warranty" on it and figured there was a warranty of some kind. I'm sure I won't have any problems out of it anyways.

Any good walkthroughs or build logs of fiberglassing mids into door pa
deernet posted a topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
This is about the best fiberglass walkthrough I've found. My plan thus far is to cut out some holes in the door panels, make some MDF speaker rings, mount them to the door panels with little metal brackets, spread some fabric over it, and put a few layers of resiny fiberglass cloth over it. Sand and repeat, sand again. Am I missing anything? -
there is no warrenty available for the BTL. There is a waiting period for them right now... Then why did I get a warranty slip with mine?

And just keep going around it until you have the difference between the mounting diameter and the outside diameter of the speaker cut out? -

I like both 3 and 9, maybe 6 too. Hell just make them all! -

I plan on using a router to do it anyways, what I don't get, is how can I use a single piece of wood and make them flush mounted. The bottom hole (mounting diameter) will have to be sunken in deeper than the top, bigger hole (outside diameter of speaker). I got these things yesterday, and man are they huge. The 6.5s are so deep, I might have to figure a way to go ahead and mount them to the door panels if I can't get them to fit inside the doors. -
Thinking about getting a small to midsize Japanese car, reccomendation
deernet posted a topic in Automotive and Performance
After I get the credit card bill for all my audio equipment payed off, I think I'm going to get a loan on a small Japanese car. Budget will be around 10k, I'd like to get something '02 or newer with less than 70k miles. I really like this Accord, it seems like a pretty good deal, and I like the 2-doors. My friend has a newer (I think its an '05) Maxima and I like it pretty good too. I'd like to get a manual transmission, but they seem to be fairly rare. I've always wanted a WRX, but I'm thinking that would be out of my price range. I guess Toyotas are out due to the whole unintended acceleration mess. I've always heard good things about Toyotas, but have lost a lot of faith in them lately. I know that every manufacturer has their recalls, but Toyota tried to cover it up, and this is pretty major. If I could find an awesome deal on a Corolla or Camry, I might go for it. I'm pretty confident that if the situation ever did arise (I'm sure I've got better chances of winning the lottery) that I would be able to handle it (just put it in neutral, duh!). My main concern with Toyotas would be the resale value after all this has gone on. I'd like to hear opinions on what you think is reliable, sporty, will hold its value, and can be had for around my price range. Edit: I also like this WRX wagon, although I wouldn't get that one due to the miles, maybe I could find something similar. I like the fact that I could probably take out (maybe half) the back seat and fit me BTL 18. -
Yeah, what kind of amps are they? You have a 1500 watt and a 5000 watt up there, maybe you should look at something in the middle. I've got a RF T1500-1bd for my BTL 18. I might end up getting a T2500 in the future, but I think the 1500 should do fine.

Anyone know of a device that you can hook to RCAs to make LEDs flash?

Anyone know of a device that you can hook to RCAs to make LEDs flash?

So I'm building a box for my BTL this next weekend. I've ordered two 3/4"x9"x18" sheets of plexiglass, and two of these 3w high powered wide angle LEDs on an aluminum base. They'll be going inside the box, and you'll be able to see the badass backside of the BTL while its playing. They're the same ones Steve Meade used in the 2x T15K Escalade build, so I know they're going to be super bright. Here is Plasma LEDs site if anyone is interested. My question, I've heard people talk about before a control module that you could get that you could plug into your RCAs to make your LEDs flash to the beat. Does anyone know where I can find one? I've searched and come up with nothing. Thanks for the help. -

deernet replied to deernet's topic in Automotive and Performance
Yeah I know, originally I was looking at newer Explorers and Expeditions. But I've already got a 4x4 Explorer, and for the price of an Explorer thats a couple years old with lower miles, I could get a MkV GTi. I think that I would have a lot more fun out of the GTi too. There is also a large aftermarket it seems. I would probably get the ECU upgrade shortly after I got one, then maybe later on upgrade the exhaust and possibly turbo. I just think its awesome that you can get your stock computer flashed and get an extra 50hp with the GTi MkV, and you can set it back to stock anytime you want to. The ECU upgrade from APR also has a built in immobilizer, and a valet mode which limits power if you let anyone else drive it. It seems like a deal for $150. -

I've test drove one before, and they are fast, but its still a Neon. It just feels cheap. Also, for the money used, I think I can find something as fast, if not very close. I've been reading up on the GTi's, the '06s have 200hp stock, and you can get the ECU flashed for $150 and get an instant 252hp. Link. Edit: Also wanted to say I have nothing against American cars, except Government Motors maybe. I've owned Ford and Lincoln all my life. I just want something that gets good mileage and looks cool, which is subjective. I've looked at the Mazda 3 hatches, and don't really like them. At this point, if I can afford it, I think I'm going to try to get a '06 GTi. -
nope..... do you guys know that you are the dumbest guys on this board? every thing i say you guys try to make fun of. lol but i could give a shit. i always try to give the best info to my knowledge. im sure ive installed hundreds of more systems than any of you talking shit. REASON i say nope is because my experiences with sub up port back in a trunk are not great. i found that sub back, port back is better for trunked cars that IVE HEARD. of course it is install dependant and there could be variables as to making sub up, port back sound good and have good output but im just stating MY EXPERIENCES. If you had elaborated on your reply in your first post instead of a one word answer, I'm sure that everyone would have understood you better, and not tried to "make fun" of you. Since on a message board the replies are conveyed as plain text with no emotion behind it, I'm sure that your answer could have been taken as smug or condescending. If you are trying to "give the best info" to your knowledge, try to make yourself a bit clearer next time.

Big 3 on 2002 Cadillac Seville STS HELP!!!
deernet replied to cbach1987's topic in Technical Info & How To's
I have a 4-door Toyota Auris 2.0 D4d (diesel) 126 hp : it is not sold (yet) in the USA. It's the new Corolla hatchback. It's a nice (little for you Americans) car, but the trunk is too small for me : I can only fit a 3.5 cu ft ported enclosure, and it's tight !!! Take a look at my ssa gallery . Do you have any pics that show the whole back of the car? I've never seen a Corolla hatch before, haha. -

deernet replied to deernet's topic in General Audio
Thats what I want is something I can hook to the pass through on my T1500. My P3002 has a light on the top of it that flashes to the bass, I'd say I could probably tap into that, but it would look all ghetto I'd say. I'd like to get a device thats made for it. -

Hopefully it will work without the backseat. Even if the Altima SE-R was in my area I wouldn't get it right now, I need to get my credit card bill paid off first. It'll probably be a few months before I end up getting something, I just wanted to get some research done first so I know what I want. Maybe by then I'll find an Altima SE-R around here, I definitely wouldn't be able to fit the 18 in that, have to be a hatch. Whatever I get, its going to be a manual though.
