Oklahoma Shakedown 2011
Ohjay replied to Ohjay's topic in Competitions & Other Organized SPL/SQ Events
We just made it back to town. We had a pretty good time but the heat was brutal. Went home with a 1st place trophy in AS3(car off). The Caliber did a 140.0 @ 44hz the first run, second run score was 140.2 @ 44hz. The song used for both runs was Trae - I Could Use Somebody from his album The Incredible Truth. Overall gain from swapping out the REs for the Skars and wiring down to 1 ohm was 3.5 db. Pics in just a bit. -
Anyone else plan on attending this event? It's in Durant Oklahoma this weekend. This is supposedly a large show with lots of stuff going on, they will have a MECA competition, hopping contest, lots and lots of classes of show cars/trucks/bicycles, vendors, etc. I'll be there tomorrow (Saturday) and am entering my brother's Caliber in the spl competition. Mainly for shits n giggles and to see how much he gained by switching from a pair of RE SRx 12s to a pair of Skar VVX-12s, adding a DC230a alt and a Kinetik 1400 in back and wiring down from 4 to 1 ohm. Anyone have any suggestions on what we should play in the lanes? I've tried to get him to burp with a tone but he wants to run music. His enclosure is 3 cubes tuned to 35, in the back of a Dodge Caliber with subs and port firing rearward at the hatch.

I was going to buy a router and sander the other day but bought another amp instead. Now I have a slightly taller stack of equipment and still have no system installed in any of my vehicles. I wanted to do something nice with the box/amp rack this time for my Bronco but I can't ever get time off at the same time as other folks who own the tools I need to build it with, I am about to run out of patience though and just build some regular box and leave the amps on the floor with wires looking like Medusa on a bad hair day.

Registration starts at 7am Saturday. Alcohol is allowed but you have to bring your own, no glass bottles of course. SPL on Saturday, SQL on Sunday. Meca 2X points. Here's a flyer: http://www.gonecruisin.com/choctawfly11.jpg I have spoken with Enrique Marquez about the show, if you have any more questions, feel free to ask and I will try to answer as best I can and quickly as possible. -
X2 I've recently started playing volleyball again 3-4 days a week for about 2-3 hours at a time and after putting on a bunch of weight, I have definitely noticed that my body is getting battered alot more just trying to move, cut, jump, stop and pretty much everything else.

to SSA! You'll have to provide us with a little more information if you want any real help. Amplifier? Plan to run ported or sealed? Music preference? Plan to compete? Willing to run just 1 sub? How much room do you have for the enclosure?

Anda boleh mempunyai seseorang di Amerika Syarikat membina sebuah kotak dan kapal untuk anda tetapi ia akan menjadi mahal.

Why wouldn't they be offered in D2? I'm pretty sure they will offer them in D2.

Nobody can tell you for sure, install it and see if you have significant voltage drop. -
Wiring up multiple batteries
Ohjay replied to b00sted's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
You can mix a regular wet cell with an agm battery in your install with no major adverse effects as long as the vehicle is used regularly. If this is a daily driver, it is not imperative to replace your factory wet cell with an agm. If this is a vehicle which does not get used very often, you should unhook the batteries from each other (usually easiest via fuse). -
Order yourself a few extra feet of cable to use for troubleshooting in the future, I keep a couple pieces of #4 welding cable in my cars/trucks for this reason. I've jumpstarted many vehicles with these too. If you have the extra cash, go ahead and pick up several extra feet of cable and 2 pairs of clamps and make yourself some jumper cables.

I think it looks ok, much better than the rides you see with large decals everywhere.
