    Little build in a '99 Chevy 1500 for a co-worker

Looks great, I'm sure he will be very pleased. These days, I think about a grand is a budget setup if you're redoing everything. Around here people want to spend 2-300 and expect to have a great system.

    Team Sundown Russia -- 160 dB No-Wall

Only 3 studs hold those wheels on? Crazy Russians. Great score though, Sundown is shutting 'em down worldwide!

    First comp. with the XCON's

I couldn't tell from the pic, looked like it might have been above it. I'll be using an SUV so I can go a bit above the window but have to stay below the seat.

    First comp. with the XCON's

I see, I wasn't sure if you were able to run in a street class with that box. Have you gone through many 150a fuses? I will be running S3 next season using a pair of 15s and 160 amps of fusing, looks like I'm gonna have to step up my game. Competition around here isn't as tough as it is further north, I'm just hoping to make it to finals and learn some more. Unless I fall into some big money anyway
  12. no, don't put deadener in there

    First comp. with the XCON's

Nice score buddy! That's good enough to win at most shows around here, are you competing in M4 and DB4?
  14. IIRC = If I Recall Correctly I haven't heard anything bad about the Rubicon series, heard some folks speak real highly of them actually. I thought that they were the only recent SS line capable of operating under 1ohm. oh well

    Welcome to the IHoP

You would be if you did hear it lol. I'm getting noise at slightly higher volume as well, I'm not sure exactly what it is but it definitely sucks. I can't even play close to full tilt.

Need help with Box Design for SA-10's

Maybe they are busy? Give 'em a few days or shoot them another polite email. I'm guessing the person that is building the box is not a box builder and just a competent carpenter?

    Welcome to the IHoP

You're supposed to think you should not have ordered something from Kevin@ Skar. laughter HA! I'm pretty pleased with the VVX subs but the box he sent me is garbage, total pos. I had to seal it up myself (there was no sealant at all and some one-eighth or slightly bigger gaps on nearly every joint), terminal cup is barely held in, port sucks (1" wide) and the baffle flexes like crazy even with 300 rms subs in it getting maybe 100-150 watts each.

Didn't we just go through this a week ago? Have you contacted someone about a design?

^this^ Damn near anything in the proper install should be loud as shit inside that tiny cabin. Honestly, your old pair of L7s could have gotten you very close to 150 db, if not over it. In those trucks, a pair of 15s, subs up port up on around 2k will have your truck flapping like you want and easily in the upper 40s. If you want an ugly monster of a box firing forward you ought to just wall it off properly.

    Help with Ported box design

You're correct, double baffle means that the side that the subwoofer is mounted on is two layers thick.
  25. I'm not doubting their ability to do so but am kind of surprised that they will go that low without going into protect almost immediately.
