HIFONICS BRZ2400.1D fusing
Ohjay replied to nicholasrhall's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
1/0 power and ground cable is fine. You should run a fuse on the power cable within ~18" or so of the amp. A 150 amp fuse should suffice. -

I have built a couple of both in your area. I don't think we did anything in San Marcos itself though. We did 3 in Austin, 1 in Bastrop, 1 in Johnson City, 1 in New Braunfels. A whole lot more in TX but a little further away like Killeen, Pleasant Grove, Waco, Lufkin, Palestine, Stonewall, etc. etc. I could go on for days.

Steel building erection, mostly commercial. Built a lot of Dollar General and O'Reilly's Auto Parts stores and a few big horse barns, shops and homes.

So i was at the local audio pawn shop today.....

They are monsters for sure. The guy who built my enclosure is a die hard DD fan, I got the puzzled "what's SSA?" reaction from him when we were discussing the build, waiting for them to come in. I took them down there in the box and let him do the unpacking. After he got them out and inspected them a bit, he was thoroughly impressed by the build quality and sheer magnitude of them. "These seem beefier than DD 9500s", he said with a big grin. His jaw almost hit the floor when I showed him the prices on the SSA store. He ended up more excited than I was to get the build going and hear the new beasts in the neighborhood. -
I would raise the post count requirement higher. I agree, I think that is a swell idea.

I was trying to find something that offered lots of coverage and protection since I wore them at work, but I didn't want something gangly. I also had to have Transitions lenses and they can only do them in certain frames. I liked them because I could go from the galvanized roof at noon, down into the dark store interior without removing them and having to refocus, plus I could see all the time.

It's been about 3 years or so since I went in last. I hate contacts so I get glasses but I rarely ever wear them. The worst part is picking frames, it took me over an hour last time.

Why not run your ( + ) lengths to the battery bank, then ground the bank in the rear and test? You may just find that to be satisfactory, saving yourself time and money. You could use the cable you saved for things like upgrading the big 3 on any other vehicle you may have, or help out a buddy with their big 3. You could also make yourself some jumper cables / welding leads and use your alt to weld something up if you or someone you like has an emergency. Good luck with whatever you decide and don't forget to keep us posted.

That looks very impressive.

Wow, I thought this thread was going to be about the VVX and something from this company... http://qpowerinc.com/ Going from a Fi driver to a pair of Skar drivers is definitely not an upgrade. I wouldn't switch out a Fi SSD for a pair of VVX subs, much less a Q. I would try to trade the big Q for something more desirable, or sell it and buy something that's more geared towards output and run a single driver ported.

Nice! You should have plenty of juice on tap after this install.

Too strict gun laws are one of the main reasons I won't move back to California.

Merry Christmas from SSA!

Merry Christmas to everyone at SSA! I hope everyone had a safe and happy holiday. -
Happy Birthday buddy, have a great weekend and stay safe.

Looking better, good job

Happy holidays to you guys too.

Sounds like something you should be asking DC Power. I'm pretty sure you can wire it up to the same battery bank with no problems though.

Welcome to SSA.

Looks like it's just going to be cold and windy here.
