    tentatively looking for opinions

I have not used the SEx series but I've used the REx series and SRx series and was pleased with overall performance of both for the money. We've been running over rms power to both series for well over a year (almost 2 years for the pair of SRx) with no problems at all

    system on a $600 to $700 budget

How much space do you want to use? How loud do you want to get? Have you performed any electrical upgrades? If not, would you want/be willing to?
  3. You should be fine with a pair of quality components in the doors on 2 channels of that amp and bridge the other 2 to the sub like Notorious said. Should sound pretty damn good in that reg. cab

    Help with choosing subs.

    Maybe a box with a tunable port and a couple D2 SA-12s on a Sundown 2500d @2ohms daily and @.5 for comps?

    Treo SSX

Good deal as long as there's no problems with it, don't think I've ever seen one even close to that cheap
  8. I agree with bassahaulic (and Notorious) You'll be dropping well over 2 grand (probably closer to 3k+) into a system by going with the BTL and SAZ 3000 if you want to do it right. That's alot of duckets to drop on something you're likely to smoke test very quickly. Notorious has a very good idea that would probably work alot better for you and be alot cheaper while being quite loud. I vote 2 Sundown SA-15s on a Sundown 1200 or 1500. The difference in output would be minimal. The difference in cost by going with the BTL & SAZ3000D will be significant
  9. MTX does not make a sub that I would choose over a BTL. That said, the 9500 series from MTX are pretty damn stout and the only series of subs I'd buy if I were set on MTX.
  10. rms is 2000 and a good high quality 1500-2000watt amp like Sundown should be plenty satisfying, especially if you have the room for a 7-8 cube enclosure
  11. 1500-2000 should be plenty for a daily application and no prior experience imo. Will be more kind to your electrical system as well.

    box build for 12" mtx 9500 x2

Should slam on high notes and peter out quickly digging deep. There used to be a cat running one of those a while back around here, pretty damn loud for 1 12"
  15. Why not just contact a box builder/designer? I would suggest contacting Bromo here on SSA. 98GMC has a link in his sig...

    choosing setup

    Fi BTL is cheap-ish?
  23. There are some nice packages in the SSA store. If you want to do a single sub, the US Amps MD-21 and either 10" or 12" Dcon (I think there is a half inch difference in mounting depth) would be nice and save you some coin. The dual Dcon with Sundown 125.2 package would also be good if you wanted to run 2 subs. Do you want to use your whole budget and be loud or use about half and still sound great without rattling the piss out of your new truck (although I hear single Dcon setups can be plenty loud). There are loads of options to be sure, these are just a couple of very nice ones that I can think of.
