So so far I will follow that guide on setting the gain with dmm. Also I read somewhere that having a box ported tuned to around 30-35hz then you should set the subsonic filter to few hz below that. But what about subsonic filter for my coaxials and components on the other amp, what do you set the subsonic filter on those to ?
-
Ok, I read and I got the the point where I think setting gain will set how much power the speakers/subs receive, so I will follow that link on how to setup gain the proper way. Now any links on what the subsonic is ? I also looked online about the 880prs and it says it has: # High-Pass Crossover (HPF): 50/63/80/100/ 125/160/200Hz, 0/-6/-12dB/Oct. # Subwoofer Crossover (LPF): 50/63/80/100/ 125/160/200Hz, -6/-12/-18dB/Oct. I just hope I'm not in over my head with setting up those amps and hu

I glanced quick at the manual and thought it only had pictures on how to wire the speakers to the amp, I was distracted and never came back to it as I thought there was not much info on it, will get to reading asap EDIT: there's actually no explanation in the manual http://www.sundownaudio.com/SAX504_1004_1252.pdf

Hey guys, I'm new here and I'm looking all over the net for some good info and I stumbled upon this site by a fluke I read on few forums that this is a quality amp and seems to be going for a price of $200 which is the top I want to spend on an amp, budget is tight. I've got two sets of coaxial speakers, both Alpine, one is Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. and the other Alpine Electronics of America, Inc. I'm working with limited space of no more than 17''x11'' in an enclosed trunk space, I will attach picture of someone elses car with the location of where I also want to put the amp.

I ended up buying Image Dynamics CTX65cs for the fronts and gotta measure if I can fit CTX65 coaxials in the back. From what I read these should play nicely on 50.4
-
Grabbed 125.2 thx SilverBane for your help and it should look nice next to 50.4

Hey guys, just wanted to sign in and post some info. I found this site looking for info on Sundown amps and I got more than I hoped for here. I have '06 Scion Xb, I spent a lot of money on visual and suspension modifications and it's about time I put some better audio in the car than stockies. I'm on budget as the wifey looks at me with a killer eye every time a new part comes in for the car so I can't get what I want exactly. I wanted to do good front components and good coaxials/components for the back as we always lay front seats flat and sit with our heads right infornt of rear speakers when we go to drive in movies, wanted good Sundown 4 channel for Speakers and 4or2 channel for 2 8'' subs in the trunk, I didn't need the box shaking and getting attention of everyone on the road so 8'' were more than I thought I needed. Also double din dvd player up front for those times when I'm waiting for the wife to come out of the store and last but not least sound deadening, most likely damplifier lite in maybe 50% of the car followed by closed cell foam where it's needed. But all of this would cost me too much and we're saving for a new home and I just said simple but a big difference than sock, so I thought Alpine SPR coaxials up front and back, said forget it to components up front so I won't have to deal with crossovers, extra wire, holes for tweeters and more setup and sundown sax 50.4 to run the two sets, all of this running off of pioneer DEH-P6100BT. simple and little work to hook it up and defeniatelly better than what I have now. Now getting this stuff to Toronto is gonna be fun, and finding that soldout sax 50.4 is gonna be even more harder than I expected Thanks, hope to stay a member of this forum, there's a good vibe here.

So far I got on my list: 4 Gauge Amplifier Installation Kit Knukonceptz product detail for KOLOSSUS FLEKS KABLE 4 GAUGE BLACK POWER/GROUND WIRE 3' ground for second amp Knukonceptz product detail for KARMA SS 12 GAUGE SPEAKER WIRE extra cable to have enough for all speakers Which cable for 125.2 running 2 8's from amp to hu ? rca 2 channel or subwoofer cable ? Which distribution block ? How many extra connectors and of what kind ? Anything else u would add ?

Hello, I would need some help on wiring two amps. I have Sundown 50.4 for fronts and backs, and will order Sundown 125.2 for 2 8'' subs in the back. I need wiring info on which things to buy to wire those two amps. I was looking at knukoncepts and wasn't sure which items to grab to have complete parts. This kit seems good for the 50.4 and I should have enough power wire to run it to the amps 4 Gauge Amplifier Installation Kit and then I got info that I should run distribution block to split the power wire between the two amps ? If so which distribution wire would be a good one ? I don't think I would need another amp kit but just additional rca's, another ground wire, connectors ? This will be my first install and I'm hoping I got the right image in my mind: Run power wire from battery to distribution block with fuse(the one included in 4chan kit) on the power wire, or don't need one because distibution block has a fuse ? Then split power wire on the distribution wire into two amps. Then separate ground wires from each amp to ground points on the car(can it be the same ground point for both amps?). Speaker wire goes from speakers/subs to amp and then signl gets send to HU via RCA cables ? Which rca from 2 8'' subs via 125.2 ?
-
What does it mean Fust immediatelly ?
-
Yeah, whatever you guys will reccomend that's what I'm gonna go with
-
then i'll be down for 2 for pre-order when you have it started. What would be the coil that I would need for that amp ?
-
Would 2 of these work off of 125.2 ? Would the power be enough for them ? I'm looking for 2 8's just to fill the bass in the car, don't want anything extreme.
-
Yeah, I'm thinking about addin a sub right now, but i got time, will wanna have everything delivered for final install in May.
-
Is that a different subwoofer ? if so what's the difference between these ? Edit: Thx Eastman, I guess i'll move to the e8 v.2 thread as that's probably more what I had in mind. thx again.

I'm about to order Pioneer DEH-P6100BT it's in the price I want, has front USB that I want, Bluetooth that I want but supposedly worst interface ever. I'm aware of that but once u get those first settings taken care of the it's just occasional changes in settings. I guess there's a downside to everything unless u pay good bucks. I was aware that Pioneer makes awsome HU's since I sat in my first car, and that hasen't changed for last 10 years, so I'll give my business to Pioneer. Brands I do not trust with HU's are Sony, JVC and maybe Kenwood, this is just my preference, they might be awsome but it's just something about those companies that doesn't sit right with me. I also always heard good reviews about Alpine and Clarion.

Hey guys, are those subs for specific purpose only like competition or are those just regular 8'' subs for every car ? I gotta ask cuz I'm thinking about 2 8's in my trunk and I'm starting to learn that Sundown Audio is quality stuff. I got 50.4 for speakers and I'm thinking if 2 of these 8's would run on 125.2 ? I don't want extreme bass, don't want my car to rattle or windshields to crack I'm thinking 2 8's will be more then enough to complete the sound, also I'm on budget so I was hoping I don't need huge amp and that 125.2 would suffice. And what is that choice of coils ? which one is the normal one
-
I bought 50.4 from db-r cuz Jacob was all sold out Now I've got shopping fever and I'm thinking what new to buy now
-
Ok, so I officially started with the audio as I bought 50.4 refurbished from db-r as Jacos said he's all sold out.
-
Yes, I asked sundownz about that and he said they are behing on their website, that there's abslutely no more 50.4's left
