sundown plus more power is a good combo!! what kind a power you looking forward to? 10k? 15k? or more! Going to depend a lot on which subs I go with...but would like to end up with between 10k-15k
-
I actually plan on swapping out subs and amps sometime this summer. Haven't decided if I want to go with Fi SP4 subs or maybe...maybe even some Sundown Zv3 subs...and a lot more power! :-)
-
Cause this looks waaay cooler! lol Plus, I am a huge fan of aero ports. They take up less area than a slot port and it would seem they are a bit more efficient.

Recones done. :-) Fi softparts on Re SX motors/baskets Just need to finish up the amp rack and face of the wall. And... Burping a 152.8 at 30hz at the moment. Hoping to get it above a 153 at 30hz. Not too bad for a couple of AQ2200s
-
Update: Decided to do a wall. 2 - 18" Re SX woofers w/Fi softparts 2 - Audioque AQ2200d sub amps 12.75 ft^3 tuned to 26hz 1 - Audioque 4X90 mid/high amp Sony DSX-310BTX head unit Audiobahn mids/highs (not my choice...but they keep up very well!) 2 - 155 amp alternators 1 - Optima Yellow Top under the hood Using the old box to get the volume I am after. Had to connect them so I decided to cut some pieces to put together. Using glass on the interior for strength and to connect the old trunk box to the front of the wall.

152.3db at 36hz. Not sure what kind of power this burp was at, didn't clamp the amps. Will do that soon. Meter in the legal MWSPL location on the dash.

1996 Cavalier 2 door Cuirrently: 1 - Kenwood X994 Head Unit 1 - 18" Soundstream XXX 2 - Audioque AQ3500D.1 1 - Audioque 4x90 1 - Set Alpine Type R 6 1/2 components 2 - Optima Yellow Tops 1 - 155 amp Alternator Still to come: 2 - 220 amp alts 2 - XS Power D3100 batteries Sexy amps! Nice! Test fitting the baffle with sub mounted: Horrible safety mask! lol Grinding down and re-using the molded glass bottom of the prior box for this build. Trying to get as much box volume as possible while still keeping everything in the trunk! Pocket holes ftw! More test fitting Ports, front and back sides flared. Messy! Not so messy! Base of the box Start of more glass work. Glassed the entire inside of the box after strengthening the corners a lot! Starting to look good! Back side of box, ready for amp racks and wiring! Amp and battery wires Making the wires fit! Amp rack coming along All amps and batteries mounted! Everything, including a 5 ft^3 box in the trunk of a Cavy! Front side painted Will hopefully get some testing done this week. This is a build for MWSPL Xtreme Trunk Class. For this class, must be a stock trunk, nothing cut, no bonding to body, carpet in, and everything inside the trunk area. Box is 5 ft^3 tuned to 35hz. I am still needing to clean up the wiring in the trunk a little bit more. Will be changing Batteries in the next week or so to the XS Power D3100s. Will be looking to do the alternators in the next few weeks as well.

What Voice Coil options will be available? Dual 2 and 4?
-
Can not wait to order one (or two!) of these!

I did over 3k for an entire competition season. 30 seconds at a time at or above 3k on music. Burped it over 4k. 151.2 @35hz

Alpine 9886 H.U. Phoenix Gold RSd 6.5" components. Going to add another set of these soon. Phoenix Gold Octane r4.0:2 mid/high amp I went with the PGs for the sound quality and that is the same reason I went with the Icons. The Icons are a bit loud for the mids so I need to pick up another set and work on glassing the doors to hold them. Current: (was taken with a crappy camera so the quality is not the best)
