I should probably add that i'll be useing an orion 2500d. So the single 18" will be getting around 1600-1800rms.
-
Hmmmm............I can do a slot port with 70sq", and still maitain 6.7cubes.
-
Thx for the responce guys. I have the space to go with either one (flaired or slotted), but I can get more sq" with a slot port. I wasn't to sure if "more is better"?

2002 Caddy on bagz...8 Fi BTL 18's, 2 RF T15k amps (new vid pg 31)
oxsign replied to meade916's topic in General Fi
OH MY GOD!!!!!!!! Who cares what the Caddy looks like. This thread is about the car audio build going on "INSIDE", not what the truck looks like outside. -
If it were only that easy.

x3!!!!!!!!!

LOL, that bike is WAAAYYYYYYY too small for you.

What would be the sub displacment for the 10"?
-
Very nice, but how much are you loosing with the rear windows flexing like that?

Best amp for Maw15's?
oxsign replied to Koridan's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
a JL 500/1 would be good too. I just happen to have 2 for sale too. -
Are you running them sealed? thats going to be tight. thats about 1.2 per sub, you should be ok though.
-
I've decided if I can keep from having to make a wall to fit them both I would rather go that route. I should be getting my truck back here shortly. Then I can start on the box for the 2 18"s. They'll be pushed by an Orion 2500D. I had a plan made up to do a 4th order box in a wall, but I would rather not do a wall if I can get away with it. What would be the smallest sealed box I could do per sub?

200amp alt, 2 redtops, 4 runs of 1/0 (2+ 2-), big 3 upgrade. I should get the truck back this weekend to start the system.

Keeping this in mind (and I dont mean to jack your thread) I will be running 2 rl-p 18"s off of an Orion 2500d. My front stage will be 2 sets of RE 6.5 comps with an Orion 400/4. I "think" this will be enough, but untill it's installed, I wont know.

Where in FL are you?
-
No problem. I probably should've made it a little clear as to which one I was useing.
-
The 2500d has the following specs as far as I can tell: 1 X 1200 @ 4 Ohm 1 X 1700 @ 2 Ohm 1 X 2500 @ 1 Ohm Not sure where you got the 600w @ 2ohm spec from. +1, and with the right electrical system (which I have) the 2500d is very cappable of running at .5ohms.

Sounds good. So, 7.2 cubes (combined enclosure) for 2 18" rl-p's will be fine running off of an Orion 2500D. Thats what I needed to find out. Thx for all the help.
-
Thank you. They are both D2's. Would I be better off putting them both in one sealed box, or put a divider to separate them? Normally I've put subs in one box, and just braced it well. Thx again for the help guys, Vic.

Sealed is what i'm going for both 18"s. It'll be in a 92' s10 4dr blazer.
-
I thought i'd ask, cause I'll have (after sub & brace displacment)7.2 cubes net (3.6 each). I was wondering if that would be enough, maybe add some polyfill.
-
You would be better off doing 2 4" aero's.
-
I currently have a set of these (RE set) I never powered them so I dont really now what they sound like as of yet....... http://www.reaudio.com/components.html But, I was thinking about 4 of the MLI-65 mids..... http://www.mach5audio.com/index-2.html The amp I'll be using is an Orion 400.4. I'm looking for some really good midbass. It's all going into a 4dr blazer. What do you guys think would be a good route to go???
-
Aren't they about the same as far as power? I currently have an RE12.1, but I was kinda looking at the NINe.1 cause I can get a matching NINe.2. I know it's kinda silly, but I like my things to match. Is there a reason one would be better than the other?
