  6. Is it a 3br house with a 6 car garage??
  7. I am interested in the idea of your install in the MR2, it's smaller size presents a great challenge to think outside the box with integrating a system that will give the ouput you are looking for. I would have to agree with the comments above about the Jensen HU. Really suprised that the Sundown Audio E8v2 was not suggested. With only 4.25" mounting depth it seems it would make it a possibility and with 2 of them it would have you in the power range of what the Draconia 4 channel could supply when the 2 rear channels are bridged. As far as the 4 channel amp, I would love to try one of the Zed amps. They have awesome looks and most of what I have heard sound promising. If you are tring to save a few bucks the SAX-100.4 would probly work for what you are trying to accomplish. Watts09 just put together a system on a 100.4 and he seems very happy with the results. Nice thing about using a 4 channel for your amp you should be able to get away with using stock alt., just upgrade bat and do the Big3 and you should be golden. Will be watching to see were your install goes! GL

  9. Got new vehicle, well new to me and I beleive this to be what I will use for my project. Wife extremely unhappy that I want to do this but that is the way it is. She'll live & I'll be Boomin' !! My goal in this setup is of course "LOUD" next is hairtricks and a daily ground-pounder. My concern is port size (to small or to large) Need input on ideas on what I am putting together. Vehicle: 2002 Isuzu Rodeo 3.2 V6 Subs: 4 SA15's Amps: 2 Sundown 2000D's Enclosure will be built as a wall using trim to seal it out to the B pillar. Will be using 3/4" MDF doubled to make all sides 1.5" thick. Calculations are using allowance for .7 woofer displacement and 1 for bracing and working around wheel wells. Enclosure demensions overall Total gross volume=25.27' Height: 36" Width: 45"< May have to be a little bit wider to accomodate the subs on face of wall with a 10" wide port. Length: 34.5" Port size: Port will be centered @ 330"2 Height: 33" Width: 10" Length: 30" My calculations give me a tuning of 34.9Hz Leaving a Net Volume of 14.59' about 3.65' per sub. This site shows a minimum of 276.87" needed compared to my 330 that I would be using. < This is my interest on the design!! What I am considering above would give me 22.6" per foot. < Good/Bad for what I described that I want in my goals?? Let me know what you think. Thanks!

James' 1990 Honda Accord Build - SouthSlap

Get busy!!! I wanna see this at Scrapin the Coast!!
  11. 1: I still like separating the power and speaker/RCAs. I would run the remote with the power wire. 2: I would suggest starting out around 80Hz, but every install is different. 3: Not a fan of using headunit to power speakers. I would use the RCAs (front output for mids/highs and sub out for the channels powering the subs). Add the rears later if you feel it's needed.

    Grasshopper's Hoe

Won't be doing anything crazy for the front speaker install, but planning for something a little different for the sub and amp.

    Grasshopper's Hoe

Wasn't trying to be sneaky about the Eclipse pic. Told Grasshopper when he called that if he wanted to use the garage he better get there before my son got home from school. I can understand Grasshopper wanting the new carpet, it's faded bad and has quite a few stains. Spare tire rack will not be going back in and the new carpet for the rear won't be cut for all the mounting points of the rack.

    Grasshopper's Hoe

When I got home today there was more stuff in my garage(like I need more added to the mess). Grasshopper had gutted the inside of the Hoe and is doing his best to get this project on the move. Grasshopper was planning on cleaning the carpet, but he feels the only way to clean it is into the trash. He has contacted a carpet source adn is waiting on a couple of samples. Promised he would be back Monday to get started on wiring, said he has a full work schedule over the weekend.

    Grasshopper's Hoe

I am finally getting a few pics up that Grasshopper sent me via phone. He has been working on the dash face on and off. A dremel died in the making of this dash face. He said this was plan B Grasshopper is not completely happy with how it turned out, but I got a shot of it when he came by today for a test fit.

My 06 Altima slow build log

For the first time making flared ports I think they turned out good. A little more flare on them so they will sit flat on the enclosure and you'll be ready to go into production! I've been thinking bout a homemade style of aero myself, may try it on an enclosure I'm designing now. Kicks, practice makes perfect!! Overall I think they have a good shape. One thing I have seen with fiberglass is if you can get as close to the final shape you want before you start glassing the less bondo and sanding you will have to do. Keep up the good work!!! I wanna see some more of your progress!!
