Sorry, Subs did get here today. Both subs basically flopping about loose in box. One magnet has slight crack. After spending 800 on 2 subs you would think they would halfway try to protect them better. Guess that is special just for BTL's or SP4's. Doesnt seem to have any negative side affect I guess. Anyway, The shit is loud and sounds great! I normally cut the holes a hair small just so its a snug fit but I had to break out the sander and take away alittle more so freakin saw dust got everywhere. And its hard to get out of black carpet. After maybe a hour total play time I think I need to tighten both rear doors now, lol. I can now hear them squeeking when the music is off just riding now. Wasnt that way yesterday. I will get her cleaned up and try to get some pics and maybe a video. For only 1500watts its impressive. I am gonna try to install the Mechman tomorrow and get the Crunch put in. My voltage is dropping to the high 11's right now. But I do have my volt meter reading from the + on the amp so I am getting real time amp numbers. Seems to be about .3 difference from the volt meter hooked up front. As I expected the Q's in the box are flat hammering the lows with much authority!! Subs just arent moving much being stiff and low watts.

EXACTLY haha

Thanks a lot, subs get here tomorrow so I will post up some finished pics. It's gonna looks great with the padded leather panels in but my wife has taken over garage for a week for a yard sale next weekend. so those will have to wait till after, lol. Still got to install my Mechman 270 and 3k but will get the subs broke in on the 1500 for a week or so

Little progress here. Finished sanding down all resin on box, entire inside is smooth now. Got the carpet done, not real concerned with seems on sides because leather beauty panels will cover sides and front. I will probably use velcro for those. Sorry for shitty photos, everything will clean up much better when done. Here is finish box ready to go in Took 3 of us to get the box in place after we had to completely remove the rear door from hinges, lol 5/16 terminals on side Port clearance on pass side Amps and ANL distro Block will be mounted in front of box, \ Subs finally shipped from FI and are on the way. Gonna do the leather panels tomorrow. I will get everything wired up and mounted this weekend a so all I have to do is drop the subs in when they get here.

Quick Noob Question About Double Baffle/Flush Mount.
swift replied to HawkEye's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
You can do that. Just make sure you drill the pilot hole straight down. A slight angle after going through the first 3/4 can put you a 1/16th off very easily. I just use a big upcut bit and go down 3/4 or whatever depth I choose to flush mount. Neither way is wrong. One thing that sucks is trying to remove a heavy sub if flush mounted tightly, need a little room to grab that monster -

If you have a router then you will want to do it together which will be the most accurate way. Do the outside first then the hole -

I was looking forward to actual American Bully pics (pitbulls) lol -
So I have gotten bored looking at the box in garage waiting on the subs and decided to resin all corners and seams and maybe all inside just for the hell of it. Well this has created a nightmare, 90% is hard as a rock but the corners in some places will not completely harden and are still tacky after 2 days. I have read leave it alone and it will eventually harden but the is BS. I don't know whether to scrape or try to sand it down bare again or what. I tried another layer last night with a little more hardener but same thing. Tacky in some spots, I am regretting even doing it now. After over 300 bucks in just wood I don't want to screw it up. I think it's not hardening were the liquid nails sealed the corners. Any ideas?

I was thinking flush router bit before I read it. That's a great way to make sure two are exact without cutting two at once. Good job

That looks loud! Good job! -
I have a set of Rockford T2652-s components up front and they sound great, the tweeters were alittle harsh though. I blew one of them and Sonic sent me a complete new component set and after 2 weeks the other tweeter blew. That was after turning the gain down. Several reviews say the same about faulty tweeters in the T2 set. Instead of trying to warranty the second set I bought a set of T1 tweeters (The same that come in the T1262s set) Those sound much better that the T2 tweeters. I wouldnt hesitate to buy a set of the T1 components. For the price and the right amp/install they will sound great. I have not had a problem with the T1's at all. I have my mids in stock door location and the tweeters mounted on pillar on axis. -2db on the crossover tweeter setting

You could fire the sub towards the rear and have the port fire under the dash area or vise versus. That way you can make a nice arm pad on top. I would only do one 15 and give it proper space and port area. I did the same but in the rear of my F250 same concept diff truck

two SAZ1500's strapped or one 3k
swift posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I have one SAZ 1500v.2 and I also have one Crunch GP3000d-Pro. I need to power 2 FI Q's and was gonna run the Crunch amp but appearance wise two matching SAZ1500's would look much better. The subs are Dual 1's so I would have to run the Sundowns at .5ohm to get a 1 ohm load but I would be easy with the gain knob and also will have the electrical to back them up. Anyone see a problem with this other than warranty issues. Curious what to do. I know both will do work but Im sorta torn. Im thinking the 2 Sundowns may sound cleaner but at .5 maybe not? My trucks interior is all black, lol -
17cu, 256sqin port, two 18's (how much bracing needed, glassing, e
swift posted a topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
Well looks like I will end up with 17.87cu before bracing and sub displacement. I really want to end up with 17cu total after. This is for 2 18in FI Q's on 3k watts. Box dimensions will be Outside 35h x 54w x 27d.... All sides double 3/4 MDF except front baffle will be triple. (may use some Birch for weight reduction) Usable inside demensions are 32h x 41.5w x 23.25d = 17.87cu Port is 8 x 32 = 256in total Sub displacement = .24... but I will be triple baffled so what maybe .22 or less?? Total of six 2in hardwood dowels for bracing =.35 2in wide 45's in corners =.10 So this leaves me with 17cuft tuned at 30hz after all is said and done. I may glass the inside as well? whats the benefits? Anybody see anything I am missing? Will six 2in hardwood dowels be enough fr bracing? 2 top to bottom, 2 front to back and 2 side to port wall. Plus with all double walled and triple baffle this mofo should be solid I would think. -
Got the false floor done last night. The uncovered portion will be covered by the box so I didnt waste carpet. The front panel has 4 screws that hold it on so I can access wiring. Amps will be placed on front top side after the box is put is. Will make for easy adjustments and should look decent.

ficaraudio.com simple google search would have answered the same -
There is not enough info about the enclosure to be able to assume this. Its within the Zcon specs. Assuming its built well it should be just fine for one 15. Its even in the area for two 12's. If he is gonna use that box I dont see why one could assume it would work. Port area plays a huge role in how it will perform and we don't have that information. This is true.

The Zcon would like that box and they sound amazing! I vote Zcon

This this being completely doubled layered and braced like a log home is really stout. I made the brace depth deep enough to put SP4's or any other deep style sub down the road if needed. I decided not to resin the inside. Too much work for a daily box and this thing is really square and air tight so I figured no need. I will first carpet it all black then maybe do some leather accenting on it to give it a flush mount look. I wanted 2 full layers to mount the sub to. Gonna order some aluminum all thread for terminals. Gonna take a few days to finish the cab of the truck and hopefully next week the subs will ship from FI.
