You are a patient man. I would have chalked that one off two weeks ago. lol

As of right now I have a Mechman 270 and two optima red tops under the hood in stock locations. Big 3 done also. I am dropping into 11's on full tilt at idle and mid 12's while driving. I was originally going to replace both red tops up front with the two d3400's which I think would be fine for my power (3600watts roughly) but was wondering should I leave the Redtops up front and put the d3400's in the rear and run wire directly from my alt to those that way they don't pull from the red tops and they are dedicated to the system? Is this a option or should I just stay with my original plan running both up front. Thanks

It is strange, I hope the alt is good, SOB was expensive. I only have a 250amp fuse up near the battery. Based on my volt meter which the power goes into the amp + with the main power wire, and it is grounded up front at a factory ground location. I would think that its reading accurately. I calibrated it with a dmm at idle. At the 11.2 Volts that I have seen, 2800 watts should have popped that fuse if I am figuring correctly. I have a 3k and a 600 watt amp. I must be leaving alot on the table?? The box the alt came in said it tested at 178amps at idle and 279 at full output. My Optima's are 3 years old and rest at 12.5 with the truck off. When the stock alt was in and the SAZ1500 the Volts would hit low 12's high 11's at idle. What ground would be bad? The amp where the voltage is reading?

if im doing a sheet metal ground thats what i do too. the reason you put it through the terminal itself is to keep it from moving. makes it a solid ground. i usually use 2 in the hole and 1 in the terminal itself. most daily setups dont need much more than that because they never really have enough current to make a difference. No, the real reason you put it through the terminal too is because your too lazy to use it the way it was intended and it may take alittle more time.. LOL -

Amazing work!! -
I will go against the grain here and say if you know you won't upgrade to a bigger amp then no way I would waste my time or money doing the big 3. I had a system at one point consisting of a fosgate bd500 on 2 diamond audio 15's and also a alpine 150 watt amp on my components and banged that setup for 2 years solid and never had a voltage or charging issue in completely stock electrical. I would do good 4 gauge wire to the amp and fused correctly.

Thank you! Yes a black DC 5K or Sundown 3500-4500 would match much better. They seem like I could give them more power too, I have a 250amp fuse at the battery and it hasnt popped, would take about 3300 watts to pop it. Thats with a 3k and a 600 watt amp, so Im not sure which amp is leaving power on the table. Sounds incredible though and is definitely a low end beast

Thanks I am happy with it! Its 1/4in mdf, covered in thick foam that I get from one of my customers and the vinyl is cheap stuff at Hobby Lobby that is glued on the stapled on the back. If done correctly it gives a nice leather look and with padding looks expensive. (Its actually 7.00 per yard, LOL)

Thanks Finished photos and a small video

I would just get the dual 1 ohm subs to do this.
-
Looks great, I bet it sounds good tuned low as well!!
-
I am getting 4.0cu after subs (4.3 before) and tuning of 42hz with 19in port per cube. I would narrow the port to 3.75 using two .75in pieces the size and length of port. That would give you tuning of 35hz and 13.5in of port per cube which would work. That should be easy to glue those boards, slide them in and put a wedge piece of wood in the port to act as a clamp. Then just seal up with caulk when done.

Subs are getting broke in some, seems alittle louder each day. The responses from demos are funny, not sure what it would meter but it seems to peak around 30ish and is loud as piss. I am really happy with these subs! Beauty panels are almost done and should add a nice touch to it. I will try to get some videos up soon.

Got the Mechman 270 installed and also the Crunch 3k. Its much much louder with this amp and the alt is very good at holding the volts were I want. I still have 2 XS D3400's coming to go under the hood to replace the Optima red tops. Here are some 95% done pics. Only thing left to do is put in the leather beauty panels on the box. But overall I am very happy with how everything turned out.

Gotcha, sorry if I missed but what amp and is it aftermarket alt?
-
Looks mean, where do you have the power wire to your volt meter going?

bl or ssd?

I would stay under 1000 watts with that alt. You should more look at the SSA Gcon and a 500-750 watt amp. That would get plenty loud -
bl or ssd?

With zero info and that amp I would go Q or BL -
All of that looks painful. LOL I would love to do two 21 DP's walled on my next build!!

Through two different orders with FI I have never had a issue with them returning emails or quality of the subs. Their subs are amazing and I would not hesitate to buy again. 4 SP4 15's would be unreal if setup correctly!
