Ok, some updates, changes.. SP4 18's..................................on the way Crescendo BC5500.................on the way Crescendo PWX 8's and FT1's....one the way Mechman 270 alt, fixed and back and installed............awesome customer service 2 day turn around (thanks) Both XS D3400's here and being installed now (two redtops under hood) Doing a total of 3 runs of 1/0 to rear batteries, 2 from Redtop up front and 1 from alt. Gonna be doing door panels of some sort, I should have front stage done and playing by the time subs come I hope. If I trade my Sundown amp for a D3100 I will add another to rear and move 3400's under hood. Pics will come soon. I think over 150's on music are possible. This shit is gonna slap either way:)

I will have to make some door panels since the Crescendo 8's wont fit in the stock locations without the factory door panels blocking half the speaker. So I think panels are the best choice here. I will probably do them in 3/4 MDF and flush mount them and cover in black vinyl to match truck and box. I was going to do 6's also in doors but dont have room unless I really get into the storage areas of the stock panels which I dont really want to do. Should I do the FT1's flush mounted in door panels too or try my hand at fiber glassing some pillar pods in each corner. Will they be loud enough in doors? I hate to make a even bigger blind spot in the corner in the pillar, which in a lifted 250 is already kinda bad. Here are a couple examples and what the stock panels are like. Sorry for the shitty pics Both mounted in doors Tweeter up on pillar I plan on using the HPF on the alpine amp to cutoff the mids at about 80hz and use a lpf blocker to cut off above 4000k, Then use bass blockers to cut off below 4000hz for the FT1's. run them all off individual channels. gain down much lower on the tweeters....

Wow, this is getting serious! Man those subs look amazing

Well shit..................... 2 sets of 6.5 components and just make this simple?...lol Kicks are out of the question because it will interfere with my park break which I have to have. Now I need to rethink it all, I had thought I had this halfway figured out. Thanks

I did a install in a friends F150 with some MA lower end 75watt rms components ran off head unit. It just doesnt get loud enough to make you happy honestly. Sounds good at low level but turning it up sounds unappealing. Buy a small efficient amp and you will be very happy.

Well, I have already ordered the super tweeters and would like to try them. Maybe I will regret it but I have always had a preference of having loud tweeters. So the question would be... on axis or off axis? Would it be smarter to do kicks on axis for both the 8's and tweeters and still run my components up top? I thought panels were my best bet for both but I dont want to sound like ass. What should I cut the 8's and tweeters off at? The site says 2500+ for the tweeters and 76-5100hz for the 8's.

Well, kicks are not out of the question. Nothing is really. I want the best sound as possible with being able to get loud enough to still hang with the two sp4 18's. I want to be able to really impress in a demo but sound clean as hell during my all day riding in the truck I do. I have these Rockford T2 6.5 components in now. I thought of using the 6.5's for more the mid range and I could cut the 8's off lower? But I was under the impression the Crescendo 8's were more of "midrange" instead of "mid bass". It also says the Ft1's like it 4000+, I guess I can cut into the pockets if I have too. But then I will be making more of sorta door enclosures instead of panels. I will deaden each door and use a rubber gasket to seal the panel to door. I really need to think this out. A couple beers and I could really fuck up some shit.... lmao Any suggestions?

Help with amp choice to power my 18's
swift posted a topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I am torn here an what amp(s) to power my 2 SP4 18's. I am looking to run RMS to them for a strong daily setup. If I ever do compete would be strictly for fun once. My thoughts are either.... DD M4a @ 1ohm........used 2 DD M3a's @ .5 ohm each........used Crescendo BC5500 @ 1ohm..........new DC 5.0k @ 1ohm...........used Sundown 4500 ( a little expensive IMO).........used 2 Sundown 2500's @ .5 ohm each........used Electrical should support whichever setup....Mechman 270, 2 Redtops under the hood and 2 XS d3400's in the rear with multiple runs of 1/0 gauge to rear. Front stage will get a Crescendo PDX 6.5, 8in and FT1 in each door ran of a Alpine PDX 4.150. I am leaning heavily towards either a DC 5k or a new Crescendo 5500 Budget is 1000 or less. I'm tired of trying to decide and ready to get this decision over with and move on to the next step, lol Opinions and why??? -
M5.... Not sure what you mean about the pocket? And yeah it's a Superduty

Decided on the BC5500 There is a very nice M4a on another board for sale but thats just too much money. That extra money goes a long way in other areas. Thanks for all the opinons -

If you get a lead on one lead please let me know. I could even start with one and buy another one down the road I guess. I'm sure one m3a would push them ok just starting out. I may add another d3400 down the road. The. Xp3000's and d3100's are too large to fit under my false floor -

I missed a like new one on **** now looking again, seems like 2 m3a,s would be wicked too. I have a lead on a local DC but don't know if the dude is serious or not. I have a couple weeks till subs get here so I am trying to be patient and make a solid choice -
This is gonna be nasty!!!

I don't even know what to say honestly

Damn son let's get crackin

lol, why would he blow them? Just curious what your assumption is based on. The box is alittle small but perfectly fine. Its barely under 11cubes and has over 13in of port per cube. Once again, I'm sure if he cared about window line he wouldnt have wanted to buy 18's? Since I do not even know the guy we can all assume that. Its not my place to (tell) him to do anything. If he asks I will give my advice, but like I said earlier. I would have went with two 12's if that was my truck.
