1/2in all thread and 1 1/4 dowels, the 3/4 all thread was just simply too heavy. My current box has 2in dowels and they are huge, this box I needed all the airspace I could get. I really wanted to stay at 20+ cubes. I really think this will be just loud as balls. Lol the current setup can get pretty brutal. I can't wait to hear this one! Got another thick coat of resin in tonight and this weekend I will finish sanding and painting it. Then carpet the box black and get it ready to make the trim panels for the wall and think about what sort of beauty panels to do. May stick to padded vinyl or try a carbon fiber look

Overall American bass makes some nice gear, as long as you know it's rated at 1700 who cares what the name says.

I agree about 80hz or so but I have never heard of a sub blowing from playing to high, it may sound like shit but blow? This is false

I think I responded to you on another forum. I have a local guy with a F150 single cab I did a ported box for one 12 that you could hook up with and hear. Its 2.25cu tuned at 30hz if I remember right. Its a great design and sounds really good. he can lean his seat all the way back too. id love to see some pictures of the box if you could get me some I will get some, could be a few days

Yep, Both 5500's will mount front and the 4 channel and 2 channel will mount under the false floor. Batteries are being moved to the tool box in bed. No man, I wish. The third sub hasnt shipped yet and I still have a ton of prep work to do to the truck. Everything is still in my truck though so you can get a demo of the two 18's. They do pretty good

Yeah, good idea. That way I can look back at it when I'm old and def and say WTF were we doing back then, haha. I think I might build a stand the exact height I need it so we can just push and slide it in, or use a forklift very carefull till its half way in and just slide the rest of the way. I will video it either way.

How about some bracing. Painted and sanded the port with 180 grit, smooooooth Glassing the 45's and port junction Mofo is huge All I have to do now is one more coat of resin inside and some sanding, put the brass terminals in, roundover the port entry and she can go in the truck. I have a feeling this is gonna get loud. Then I have the task of making it all look good in the truck. I have alot of money wrapped up in this enclosure, and I still have a ways to go.... I started looking at receipts, bad idea..... Final specs are 20cuft net, with 277.5in of port, tuned at 31hz

Zcon 15's and another amp

Thanks guys

Got alot done over the last two days. Been working on the port over the last couple days. here is my progress. Got the 45's in the box to flow into the port. Port assembly Test fitting Shows how the 45's flow into the port Since there are a few small things I am not 100% satisfied with I will be glassing the 45's, port wall and sand and paint the whole inside. Considering how much labor I have in this thing I might as well do it all.

Thank you Steve!! That means alot!! When you laid down a 155 with a blown sub I was like wow, thats serious.... Mark, my next sub purchase will be some of yours. No doubt about it!!

Good 3500 > budget 2500 -
Do you have a compound Miter saw? If so cut your 45's on it. Also if you didn't account for 45's they will throw off tuning some
-
Wow, did Senchez get drunk and fall asleep on the couch trying a recone? Lol Damn, Shizzon it looks like a crime scene!! Lmao
-
damn, I shoulda drive to your house haha, be at your place about 9:30-10 to wake the dead I guess lol

Your gonna get more cabin gain with the port either up or to the side, but really you won't know until you try it both ways. It will probably change your freq response alittle each way so listen to several songs both ways. 1/4 board, glue foam p on then wrap on vinyl staple on back. I tried Velcro but my front piece is so large I actually have trim screws on each corner Thanks a lot for the compliments.

Looks good, I assume you be using one side of the rear seats. I would definitely fire the subs forward and port up on drivers side. Or subs forward port side firing.

Name some amp options
swift replied to KenC210's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Also a great choice is a Alpine PDX-M6, they do 600x1 at 4 ohms or 2 ohms. Really nice amps and are very small. -
http://blackfriday.com/ Just saying, haha They will add to the list as time goes but I love this site when November rolls around
