153.0@37hz headrest in Meca yesterday. Did a 131.0 in Park & Pound DB4. That was on 300amp of fusing. Two 1st place trophies, best truck and best install medals as well. I really want to pull a 55 at the headrest though. Now its time to add more batteries, distro blocks, more 2/0, add the second 5500 and also incorporate this DD 2 channel amp I have to run just the tweeters while the 4 channel runs the mids. Also gonna be doing my doors and will probably be running all Rockford Pro Audio gear soon. Crescendo cant seem to keep anything in stock so I will probably switch tweeters too. Will more than likely have 3 6.5's in each door and one or two tweeters in each door. Whichever one disgust M5 the most is what I will probably go with. lmao

Which is better ( Fi 15 inch bl or a Kicker l7 15 inch)
swift replied to c0le99's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Two 12's would be better in a Cavalier. The Crescendo amp is a great amp, I would also get another large battery for the rear. -
Put that Q in a well designed 4cu net box tuned at 28-32hz with 50sq in of port and it will really dig some low notes out. If you want lows it's more about the enclosure than the sub.
-
The vent Mach would not be "better" with the q, especially with small port area. The Q has more Xmax requiring more port area that a BL would, "if" you are concerned with vent Mach. Also you have it backwards, the Q would do better in a larger enclosure tuned lower. My guess is that it won't sound near how you think with your enclosure. I prefer a Q over the BL, but for you I believe you have made the wrong choice. I will assume you mean a 15in sub.

Those are tiny! I guess they would be good somewhere, just not in my truck, haha -
That's great man!! You deserve it, can't wait to see the monsters!!

You have a nice truck, especially for your age no doubt. Its easy to get caught up in thinking the smoke is fun or cool but it really bothers people because it is so thick and will stick to everything. Keep the playing with that switch to remote areas and everyone will be happier

Would a Mustang getting waxed by a 9000lb truck from a redlight be considered gay and give other Mustangs a bad name too? LOL
-
Dumping black smoke is almost unavoidable at times with a strong tune in it until the turbo spools up. I can roll into my throttle and not smoke much at all but if I have to get out in traffic in a hurry and step into it quickly she is gonna dump a thick cloud. My truck has some of the best tunes in it you can get, some of them will smoke some not. At WOT in my Extreme or Anarchy tune it will not smoke much at all once I am in boost, but if you flat foot it from a jump or while cruizing it will bellow out a deep black cloud. A smoke only tune is pointless and dumb. But a fast ass truck that smokes while spooling up is just part of it.

I personally do not think that car audio power cable has a thick enough jacket for me to feel comfortable running it under the vehicle exposed to the elements. Inside the vehicle it seems fine. I also have some Coleman Royale Stage cable that is perfect to run under vehicle. It has a very thick 600v jacket and is also very flexible. It's the same thing you see at Concerts, Carnivals and Fairs. Now being that I have been there and doing that now if you do plan to run another amp down the road make sure you place the first 3100 in a spot where you can just add more beside it later and also go ahead and do the main runs front to back so all you have to do is add jumpers. I have to pull all of mine out because I didn't do that the first time. Also for a BC5500 I would do 2 3100's in the rear along with your 3400 up front. Then add 2 or 3 more 3100's when you add the other amp. I would do 2 + and 2- front to back and also ground in the rear to the frame as well.

When I put a dmm on the terminals on the outside of my box it reads .5 ohm. Ok regardless. When you wire 3 dual 1 subs they wire to .67 load. Now when I add a second amp I will wire them to what 12volt says will give me a 1.5 load making each amp see a .75 load. At .75 or .5 they will be drawing more than I have now and need more battery power.
-
I would do sub forward and port up. I would also not worry about doing a hairtrick. It either will do one or it wont. I have seen setups that hairtrick like a boss and sound like complete ass.
-
Normally with dual 1's they would read .67 or 1.5 which ever way I wire. But since these are .7's they are giving me a final reading of .5. So I will assume that when I wire the subs to what would normally be 1.5 fthat it will actually read 1ohm giving me a .5ohm load on each amp when strapped. Correct?
-
I can get into 12's right now if pushing hard enough, It wasnt so bad at 1ohm but now its at a .5. When I add the second amp both will be at .5. I bet its gonna draw like a mofo

Picked up my 2nd 5500 today I have a extra 50ft of 2/0 ready to go. Now I need to think of how many batteries I need. I dont know whether to buy the Die Hard Plats like Mr Mead or get XP3000's. I will need to put them in my tool box in the back. I may need to move the other 3400's back there too. I hate to have batteries under hood, under false floor and in rear tool box. May need to go ahead and pull it all back out and rewire completely. hmmmm How many batteries should I run for 12k. I currently have 4 D3400's. I thought I would start with 3 group 31's and go from there. I need a deal so if anyone has any thoughts?

Curious about your battery bank and electrical? -
No brainer to me especially for a daily ground pounder

With your mods done that truck should last a long time. Just watch the trans temp. Once the 6.0 gets studded, egr delete and a fresh oil cooler they are awesome.

I will admit that I blew it during that video of the 156.7 on music. That song is loud and I tuned my setup at volume 55. I went volume 58 and probably clipped it some and just smoked it. The other one is fine. I will be redoing the front now and will be running 2 Ft1's, 2 6.5's and 1 8in in each door.
