Fi bl 18s daily ground pounder box build help!!!
swift replied to rowdyful7's topic in SPL & SQ / Fabrication
Just wall it off, I already went that route. I had a very nice all birch 14cu enclosure, after 3 months I walled it. 2 18's will beat the truck up so much you will sound cleaner walled and sealed off. -
Family comes first bro! Car audio will always be there, as will this site. Have a good new year!!

In your car you may be able to just wedge a quarter in at the throttle body if its for comps, if not comps and just demoing the just use your foot. I remember once I was metering my truck and had my foot on pedal and holding at 2k rpm, I looked up a few seconds in and had the tach buried at 5000rpm. Scared the piss out of me. Throttle is touchy in this diesel. Haha

Welcome a d nice looking setup

Lol, how many people post 30sec a drags numbers? I'm just playing around in a parking lot. These are no different than your score methods you recently posted. They are peak Peak and 30 second average are completely different. You are just essentially "burping" on music. Not really sure what your wanting to hear but it really doesnt matter much. You can replace my "music" wording with "burp, peak, outlaw with a gust of wind" if that makes you feel better. You saw the video, make of it as you wish. I can still 30 sec a 55+ on the dash playing music 10hz lower than your burp scores. Is that better? Woah now don't get so butthurt, I wasn't saying they where bad.. they were lacking information. You're .3 tenths louder than me in the kick off of 5k more watts. with my 2 18's I could average a 56+ on 6k sb style.. So talk shit.. I guess. I honestly am not butt hurt at all, you just seem to be looking for that kind of response. I thought my video showing it on peak hold, playing a song, and saying that it was in the kick was plenty of info. lol I dont remember picking apart your burp scores or any other scores for that matter. Hell I even post at what hz I do my numbers at. Anyway, its still sunny in my back yard, no harm here!

I know, right..... LOL Thanks Steve!!! Its all good, I just wanted something loud that sounds good and I'm happy with it. I only posted numbers because I know some people want to see them. No big deal, maybe one day I'll build more of a SPL type vehicle but for know I want to just get the mids and highs straightened out.

Yeah check the grounds. For some reason those trucks electrical sucks. My friend 97 F150 only has a 1000 watt amp and his lights dim like crazy! If the grounds are ok I wouldnt worry too much about it till you upgrade and make more power. Then I would do a alt.

1/0 ga wire and good grounds.

Some more numbers for fun....... All numbers are on music 157.39 on dash song peaking at 41hz 155.27 sealed up on dash same song peaking at 41hz 154.80 @ 30hz outlaw style

I want think dually !!!! I think after a week or so the smell goes away. All my FI subs have been that way.

You feel like a wall tuned at 31hz should be hitting 60's? Damn, I am happy that its doing what its doing. I bet it could pull a 59 the way it sits (on music). Justins SSA Blazer may have hit a 60 on burp with 4 18's. Lenny's Tahoe with 6 SMD 18's in a low tuned wall like mine running 3 DC 9K's hit a 160.9 on burp. I never really chased a number, If I was more concerned about numbers then how it actually sounds then I would have tuned it to maybe 35-38hz. I agree a 60 would be nice but I doubt it will happen in my truck and dont care really. This will play music in the 55's like a champ and sound very clean doing it. That in it self wasnt easy.

Well I only have one laying in the floor just to have sound until they are all mounted up but its getting 75rms. I can tell with both of them at that power I will need maybe four 8's to keep up with them. They scream and sound incredible. Really wish I had listened sooner. Not sure why more people dont run them. Well they are expensive as FK. haha

Should I buy Discover G31 UPS Batteries??
swift replied to EPerez's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I run XS and the Sears Die Hard Platinums. Both are awesome, The SAMs clubs are Deka rebadged which is fine, the Sears ar Oddessy rebadged batteries which are better than Dekas. If you have the money to spend get XS, but dollar for power I like my Sears batts. -
Gonna charge the batteries and try to see a 159 on music. That would be awesome.

Could get front speakers to play, thought it was the new rca's or headunit. Threw the trusty Alpine PDX in and I'm back in business. I will send the Crescendo back and hopefully get that squared away soon. That will give me time to install the 8's and horns. The Rockford 6.5's and one horn hooked up it still loud as hell and I am now sold on hlcd's. Mofo is loud and clear. So after playing the radio for one hour straight with the truck off on battery only I decided to go have a listen once it was in. Took the meter to get a baseline. It will be louder with a fresh charge. Same meter placement, same song as my 156..7 run on this song. Im very happy considering this is a low tuned daily work truck, Its loud as piss.

I have 4 XS D3400's, 4 group 31 Die Hard Marine Platinums and Mechman 370amp alt. I am wired to 1.5.....so each amp should be seeing .75 or so. Maybe less. Drops to low 13's full tilt, which I am fine with.
-
Oh, I didnt read back any, Just looked at the picture.

The subs are playing and its stupid loud with them strapped. But I have zero front stage. Something is way off with the headunit, RCA's or something. I wish I hadnt fucked with replacing the RCA's to the expensive pretty Knu's. The cheap random Rockford and Tsunami worked great. I have no left to right speration, when I balance over I still hear both sides the just get quieter. I can also hear the mids through the highs channel. I double and triple checked the rca's and speaker connections. These are those 4 channel Krystal Kable's that Knu sells. I am going to try a direct swap with the old rca's tonight and see what that does. But the headunit not filtering correctly makes no sense. Its like they are all playing full pass. I disconnected the horns and just playing with the mids to figure this shit out. Im hella pissed. But the windshield looks like she is gonna go, bass hurts. Voltage doesnt go below 13.2 full tilt driving. Still not sure it was worth spending another 2500 to add the other amp. I guess the meter will tell me. If its 158's on music I'll be happy
-
I bet its louder by .5 Thats my guess

I will get pics up later or tomorrow, been running another 70ft of 2/0 tonight. Up at 4.30am work till 6pm, come home, work on truck till 11 then back up at 4.30. Kiss kids, slap wife and back at it again. LOL
