I would add another layer of wood on top of the box and try again. The box honestly should be the strongest and most stable place in that car. I don't see you finding a more stable place unless you have room for a cushion surface. If you mount the amp on a board first, then mount that board on top of a think piece of foam that may work if you have the space.

Those will sound great!

You cant fix stupid...... So I will just leave it alone and go back to being rich and immature.

Type R's get very loud and handle power great. That would be my choice between the two. I have 4 of them in my truck for 3 years.

Yep, dont even have a plan. no designer on here feels confident enough to make me a design. so ill build the biggest enclosure i can and see what fits. I wish I was rich like you I just dont understand spending so much on woofers and wood but not buying a ram box design or something Its only $60 seriously? My wall far exceeded any expectations. Oh and RAM designs refused to design it because there was no way to make it fit right. If I was rich this would be a whole different animal. IMO two DC 7.5ks with 3 evils is rich a hifonics brz on some L7's is normal people oh Ram failed sorry I didnt know I cant tell from the last 3 pages of this thread or from your status updates what exactly happened 2 your camaro are you just getting a diff vehicle to fit everything in? Im confused why your selling your evils? No more car audio? (please no rage quit) I dont understand them not fitting cause theres mustangs out there with 4 18s in a wall When I first came to this forum I was like wtf is steve meade doing here lol If you base what being rich, normal or poor is by what car audio equipment someone has you must be very young and immature. Also you should expect more from yourself, lets say he has 10k wrapped up in equipment. Yeah thats alot, but do you feel that is enough money to be rich? What if he had bought a used 10k dollar car with 100k miles on it with that money instead and posted pictures of it on here. Would you look at a car and say "Man, I wish I was rich" Lmao, some of the things you young guys post is just comical.

You getting out of the car audio scene all together or just a different build.

Yep, very impressed with the sub in person. Gonna try to get his enclosure together this week.

Any experience on mating higher efficiency woofers to hlcd's?
swift replied to cubdenno's topic in Advanced Discussion
I didnt read the entire thread thoroughly but you NEED to be able to adjust hlcd's as much as possible, not only with EQ but with level and gain control on the fly from my experience with them. The best thing I could have done was go with hlcd's but they do need tweaking to find what you want but once thats done its really nice. Mine are crossed at 1.25k and I wish I could go alittle lower. I am running active I dont have tweeters in my truck right now and they keep up just fine with my subs, (which isnt easy). Loud claps will make you flinch. Listen to these guys, I did -
Omg, you poured water on the new sub......

Dude you pulled up played some music sealed up, that shit was funny. Get it all sorted out then open shit up and let her rip. Sorry I had to run, I was freakin starving!!

Thanks guys. It was a fun event. Won 1st in M4 with a 154.9 (fuse blew immediately, gonna roll into next time as I feel like it should have done better based off my testing) Won 2nd place in Park and Pound 5 with a 134.3 average, lost by .3 to our SSA member DreDay256 with his Magnum with 4 18's which is super clean and loud as hell. Won Best of Show for my combined scores to take the big trophy. I still have some things I want to do but it's all in fun none the less It was great seeing everyone and checking Shizzons ride out. Once he gets it where he wants I will get that demo.

Looking good!!

Lmao, that guy was lost! Thanks guys. I am ready to get the other mids and highs in. I spent tonight getting my HLCD's in correctly so I'm glad that's done. It's plenty loud right now but will become just stupid I'm sure. Here you can see my horns mounted, I have front plates on them so the meet the dash for good acoustical transition supposedly. These things are awesome though.
-
Got the doors back, They look great! here is a mock up, I will be ordering black FT1's for the doors and 4 more mids. But you get the idea Here they are installed. Since I only had two 8's here at the house I went ahead and added the Rockford Proaudio 6.5's just for temporary and for the show tomorrow. had to make adapter plates and also cover plates for the open holes. Covered them in some left over vinyl so it didnt look too shitty. Doors are loud and the Crescendo put out alittle more midbass than I expected. I'm sure with 3 per door I will be content. I stuffed the doors full with foam that I had laying around.

This has nothing to do with FI products but yes a couple of the biggest AGM batteries for the rear would work. Maybe two XP3000's if you have the room.
-
Then I would do 9cu single common chamber with one large port, test, then add blocks or large 45's to reduce volume if the meter tells you too.

Looking forward to seeing your progress, looking good

Thanks, Yeah it will be loud as hell no doubt and I think he did great on them. I did not want the mids and tweeters firing into the side of my seats very low like some you see. These should keep them visible without too much blocking them. But I am hoping to switch between running the horns and supertweeters. Horns daily and everything at Comps. We will see. I'm curious how heavy they will be
-
Yep, should have them back tomorrow. I wanted them to look good and I was alittle apprehensive about trying it. Money well spent it looks like
-
Hmmmm, What do we have here.

Nice! I like the design, should get loud!
