My DSS Ethos review and comparison to the SP4 (db numbers inside)
swift replied to swift's topic in Direct Sound Solutions
We'll see how 4 18's on 10k do in mine. I'd love to see 160 at or below 40hz is the goal -

No doubt the sp4's are low end monsters, this just shows me how good the Ethos do. Looking forward to seeing what a lot of cone area does, -

Crescendo BC2000 (2250rms @1ohm) only used for a total of maybe 2 months play time and never ran below 1 ohm. Mechanical 10/10 Physical 9/10 Amp was bought new and used for 1 month in my 79 dually and used for only a week in my new truck, 375 shipped and insured any where in US. DSS Ethos 15 D2 Sub has only 4 days of play time as of now and getting louder every day. This sub is a monster and is extremely impressive. I would put these up against almost any sub on the market right now. 275 + shipping

Looks like its time to make this truck louder . The 15, and BC2000 will be for sale. I am walling the truck, big numbers and door open hair tricks will ensue, lol

Alternator question
swift replied to KenC210's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Why? Do you not trust who is doing the work? -
I will be, just trying to figure with Q about airspace needed. I dont want to rebuild as the box is built and ready to go in. All I really want to do is lower internal space which will raise tuning. my current setup is 20cu net. But if its worth it then..............

I bet, I am blown away at how hard this sub pounds out shit below 30hz. This could be the ultimate ground pounding sub if doing multiples. Cant wait till 18's are available. These things murder the lows for sure.Well see how they hang at higher frequency in my truck. I know, I'm excited to see. I would love to wall with 18's.

HO Alternator Amp questions for Orion HCCA Setup
swift replied to Orionismything's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I would want a 270amp alt or the biggest you can afford and a XS d3400 under the hood and 1 or 2 XS xp3000's for the rear. If not XS Power then get Sears Die Hard Platinum Group 34 under hood and Group 31 for the rear -
Yep running the IA6.4. Its a great amp

Pioneer 80prs in, had to get a damn 150.00 adapter to make it a aftermarket radio work in the truck. Sundown 6.5 comps in factory locations My old trusty sub box that has been in 3 different vehicles now. 3.6cu@29hz, 44sqin of port. DSS Ethos 15 Fits perfect This will get cleaned up alot Vid is kinda long but here it is anyway. I start music at the 5min mark if someone doesnt want to see me jabber

Loving my Ethos. The sub plays with more authority down low than the Q but hits the higher notes way better. The Q didnt play all that great up above 40hz (I mean it played well just nothing to write home about) The Ethos plays a much wider range it seems. My box is 3.6 tuned at 29hz. Has plenty of punch on the rock stuff I was listening to.

Ethos is in and it sounds awesome. This sub may hammer out the lows better than anything I have tried in this box. It's definitely better rounded than the Q was. Can't wait till I get it broke in and loosened up some. Pics and vids coming

Damn on a boat I would have went active on some pro audio gear and been way louder enough to entertain a whole cove for 1/4 of that
-
Or run a top port and dont worry about the side port. Unless its a meter only build who cares. A top port can do big numbers too and actually sound better to both listeners at the same time with both windows down

Six 15's will be just flat out sick!
