Nice pictures. Love the last one. I never out and out weighed mine yet. 37.2lbs and none of it is body fat. LOL I'm still working on getting mine in too.

Agreed... and so... ^^^

I just got my new Fi Q12 as well. It looks bad***! The UPS shipping label said it weighed 35lbs.

I got stainless steel for corrosion resistance, and the nice finish. I'll post pics when installed. 2 - 2" #10/24 Stainless Steel Bolts 6 - #10/24 SS Lock Nuts 4 - #10 SS Washers 4 - #8 Gauge Compression Terminals I'm running 10 gauge speaker wire, but speaker wire is generally larger than standard power wire, hence the 8 gauge compression terminals. Thanks for the input guys

Instead of cutting a hole for a terminal cup I plan on running a 1/4 inch or so bolt through the side of my sub box. My question is, what type of bolt would be best for power/signal transfer? -Standard Steel -Stainless Steel -Brass -Aluminum -Chrome -Grade 8 Steel -Copper (not sure I can find it) There is just so many options and I don't know what to choose. Thanks All

Money's not an issue. It's just a couple bolts Just looking for the best

I'm going to be purchasing a new 12" Fi Q when they come available on the 31st. I'm going to be running it on 500rms in a sealed box. Would any of the many options available be helpful to get, in this application? If so, which ones. Obviously I'm getting the High Qts model. I'm talking about the other options. Thanks guys for any input.

I know this question has been posted before all over, but many of the discussions just turn into b***hfests, and no straight good answer is given. Would stuffing (polyfill etc...), or lining (vibration damper, mlv, etc...) a properly sized and well built box make any difference on the sound quality/characteristics of the subwoofer it contains? I'm looking for one good answer please, not a million random opinions. My head is just in a daze after looking at how many odd forum posts that don't answer the question I'm posing. Thanks to anyone who has good knowledge on this topic!

Alright sounds good. I'll see what I get. Thanks man

Awesome info guys. I have Windows 7 and I can't access the help guide for some reason so I never knew how to enter the info properly. I'll give this a try and see what happens. Also, should I tab completely around the page before entering another value, or can I skip around with a mouse and put the values in?
-
True. I was just wondering if there was any added dampening characteristics from stuffing or lining the box versus not doing so. I've used Winisd but when you enter your own parameters it won't save because they don't match the programs calculated parameters. Is there a way around this? I've entered the parameters of the 12" Dual 2 Q wired in series into Winisd, but it won't save the driver parameters. Also, without the High Qts woofer parameters I can't properly make a model. This is the biggest problem.

Well I'm planning to build a box for the new 12" Q and was looking for a Qtc of .707, theoretically. I've made boxes for other subs to get this Qtc (don't have exact equipment to measure though). I just haven't experimented with building the box slightly smaller and adding polyfill to see if it would help/change the sound versus making the box perfect and not adding polyfill, or for that matter any other "exotic" product. I'm just looking for the cleanest sound possible. I love tight snappy bass, and at around the theoretical Qtc of .707 I am very happy. Hopefully this answers your question for me. Also, do you the exact box size I would need to fabricate to get this Qtc for the 12" Q with HIgh Qts, and the inductance ring? There is a size range posted on the site, but it's not very informative for an exact size. Thanks man

I see that. AWESOME!!!

Does anyone know when the new 2010 Q's will be available on Fi's website. It says March 1st, and nothing. I'm getting antsy...

I've been trying to figure out some theoretical expectations from a few subs using Winisd. I want to use a sealed enclosure, but I can't figure anything out with the SSD (12 inch Dual 2 ohm) until I know the higher qts. Does anyone know what it is? Hopefully I'm not being dumb and just can't find it.

I understand it's not exactly a fair question, but I'm just trying to gain some incite. I previously owned a 12" Type R, ran 500 rms to it in a custom made sealed box of optimum size. (got stolen) Which setup do you guys think would put out the same amount of spl as it at 500 rms; A 12" Fi Q sealed, 12" Fi Q ported, or a 15" Fi Q sealed? I'm looking for sq so that isn't the question. The Type R was perfect for output, but quality was lacking. Hopefully someone has experience. Thanks

Alright, My bad. Sorry for the moment of stupidity. I am very talented at making boxes.
-
I am working on my front stage. Dynamating my car too. I understand that in an sq system you're looking to blend your components together, and in spl you're looking for a ground pounding experience. I was just wondering about output, that's it. Sorry for the apparent dumb question all.
-
I'm fully aware of what I am asking. I just can't compare them in person. I just don't want to loose a lot of output when switching to an sq setup. I know the question sounds ridiculous. I have a 500 rms amplifier and I am looking for a comparison. I don't find the question exactly smart either.
-
Lol you guys. Just wondering

I'm thinking about getting a 12" Fi Q for my ride, but can only afford 500 rms to the sub. Will 500 rms from a JL Audio 500/1v2 be enough to make the Q sound great? Volume isn't a problem cause I've run subs at 400 rms and was satisfied.
-
I'm an sq guy. Right now I have a 10" RF P3 running at 400rms in a ported box and it sounds like plenty. (Temporary cause I had my last sub stolen) Just looking for better sq. I would put the Q in a sealed box. I am very familiar with setting gains, so no problem.
