I use a Greenlee Cm-600 at work and it's durable and very reliable. The resolution is not a quick as a buddy's Fluke clamp on meter; but unless there is a purpose for your boyfriend to need a meter with a refresh rate within the tenths of a second, the Greenlee would be more than fine and quite a bit cheaper. You can pick the Greenlee up at Lowe's.

This is where it gets tricky. Take the example of both of them being at 80hz/24dB. It'll still be at 80hz/24dB. If one is set to 160hz/24dB and the other is 80hz/24dB however, the point of the 160hz point will overlap the 80hz one. Which effectively makes the 80hz point useless. It doesn't combine. The slopes have to be additive. Let's take two 80hz/12dB crossovers for example. The output signal of the radio is playing at a level of 100dB pink noise. Through the first crossover, the output signal is now 88dB at 80hz going into the second crossover. That 88dB signal will then get cut another 12dB at 80hz to now arrive at an output signal of 76dB, or 24dB from the original signal. Every crossover is going to cut the signal coming into it, regardless of what the original signal was. Correction: As KU40 has said, 80hz would be the point where it is 3 dB down; but even so, through the second crossover the signal would be 6dB down from the original signal.

As I remember, we had it hooked up mono to one sub. The pair that is sleeved with the romex sheathing should be the set used. I believe two were capped off, and the remote had a connector on it. I found an online owner's manual; let me find it. Edit: I'm not coming remotely close to finding it. Damn you, Google, damn you!!!

They are gone, as I checked before coming here. BTW, nice digs here! That 6300 was around for a good while. Surprised it stayed around that long.

If the Kicker doesn't work out, I found a Polk DB804dvc for $42.11 shipped. I assume that since you are selling the vehicle, certain things can be ignored; as such I'm only loking for things that will fit. The sub has a depth of 4". Edit: There is a pair of RF 8's intended for use in the Nissan Sentra system. Those enclosures are pretty tiny! I bet they would work out very well; and you could sell the other one to recoup some of what you spend. Edit#2: There is a seller on eBay selling an Acoustic Research 8" sub for $36 shipped BIN. He says it's intended for for an enclosure size of 1 cube (for what it's worth) and is rated at 100w rms (there wasn't a sensitivity rating, guessing your power will do). BTW all of the subs listed have dual 4ohm coils.

I looked up closed cell foam on eBay, and came up with a ton of different types. Do you guys have any suggestions on which type to buy?

Is your Paypal funds directed through a bank account? If so, as I am to understand, it might take a couple days (how many a "couple" is, I don't know) for Paypal to actually complete the transaction. If funds are in your Paypal account or it is done via a CC, it is essentially instant.
