Would it be safe to run my Precision Power Black Ice 1800.1 at 1 ohm?
ssh replied to mlcantin's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Yeah sounds like a new alt would be a good idea especially with the newly added stereo stuff. -
No "Fi 4 life" is from MN, it's Sean's trolling account.
-
Are you louder then the "ok" subs? Being louder doesn't equate to much. Consider one could use a lesser product with more quantity, does that now make the lesser product better than the other? But I will say that the Isuzu is a monster, and "Fi 4 life's" posts make no sense.

What range would you suggest to be too low? Since I never played music full-tilt with the engine off I always set the gain while the car was running, so I was relying more on the alt than the battery. I tried to keep the voltage above 12.6v So with stereo off, 15v, playing music loud would be in the 13-14v range, and occasionally it would drop to 12.6v if it was a test tone / long boosted bass line. Below 13v isn't charging the battery much, and below 12v the battery is draining and the amp is going to get hot. The above numbers I used are not set in stone so don't consider what I did as gospel, but it's what I considered safe so I wouldn't ruin my amps, or have a dead battery the next time I needed to go to class. All the while pay attention to the sound while adjusting the gain as you may reach distortion and the amp's maximum output before voltage is an issue. -
Sounds like you did a bit too much. I'm jelly though, in for the pics!

Sure. Watch the voltage, if it drops too low than lower the gain. -
CCA vs OFC is there really a big difference?
ssh replied to nigel's topic in Technical Info & How To's
Unless it's limiting your amperage by half of what OFC would do (which it isn't), than I can't imagine you hearing any audible difference. -
Supposedly they suffered bruises, and one broke his leg--sounds pretty lucky to me.

That's probably a good idea. You might hurt yourself.

As if God gives a shit about your van being loud--if he exists.

I have a useless stupid itch to buy some uber magnum. For no rational reason. Hunting wild armored freight trains from across a valley? I dunno. Just want big boom. I share that sentiment.

You have my deepest condolences.

You shouldn't have pissed off true concepts lol i would not give him so much credit, im thinking its my ex...Its Kevin from skar. We all know how good he is at screwing shit up. J Except he's not competent enough to pull it off.

Happy Birthday Aaron!

one two three four five.... Accidentally deleted Matt2s post about his work pass being that. At my past job your password had to be 8 characters, all lowercase and numbers. I never understood why companies or applications would limit their passwords like that. Only thing I can think of is the extra storage space for an extra 10-20 bits X all users, but even that seems farfetched.
-
Did they change the email address for resetting the password?

Yeah I think so too. Your idea of wood paneling underneath sounds way better than fiberglassing.
-
I will say that if you do end up glassing over it, you should drill holes throughout the tray before applying resin and fiberglass. The holes will help give something for the resin and cloth to adhere to. At least that's what I've done in the past, and it worked, but I never did something that large.

Are you in ihop land?

Matt you remember those Oculus Rift headsets I posted on here a while back? The co-founder died yesterday after being hit by a car in a police chase.
