16v on car electrical
ssh replied to ssh's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Ya it would. I know Alts from dc can be regulated from 14.4 to 15.1 -

is 15v safe on the cars electrical or a bad idea? -
I'm not sure what technology it uses, perhaps xbl? But I know the rms rating is something crazy

That makes sense, thanks -
Or saz1500

They may use a glue to keep them from unscrewing, may have to heat them up. Hopefully someone who has some experience can post

My alt is rediculous.

now just gotta play it and measure voltage. Do you have a LCD volt meter in dash? -

What's your voltage at full tilt at idle? And what's your setup? -
Couple weekends ago I was at a car show and a hertz sales rep was talking massive trash about sundown amps (and other non-mainstream companies). He stated that it is impossible for sundown amps and other amps of similar build to do rated power on strictly pcb board. he said hertz amps had a solid copper plate underneath the circuitry to deal with producing high current (1000watts+ or whatever). So my question is, do sundown amps (and others) have any plating underneath the boards? If not, then how do they handle all the current without frying? I'm not in any way, shape or form questioning sundown quality (as I have a saz-1500d myself , but just interested in how all this works.

Enclosure Build for Mark @ SSA!! (Installed, P.7)
ssh replied to Argent Audio's topic in Argent Audio
Yes! I doubt the paint will be as crazy as mine on the first run of things, be we are going to be doing a small pre-order on these and buy a stock our selves, then offer them to anyone on that is willing to pay for them. We are no longer calling them pre-fabs only because they are better then most boxes that are custom built. I'm thinking about calling them "Torture Chambers" , something like that. Cost is still up in the air at this point, but just don't expect these at normal "pre-fab" prices since they have so many man hours in them. These should be considered the holy grail of enclosures, they should be pricey as the craftsmanship that goes into these is amazing, woot woot!!! go Andrew -
Mark (co-owner of ssa) hits it pretty f***ing well with his 2 18" xcons. His box is tuned to 26hz. I heard it a couple weekends ago and I was sold So yes, I have heard the xcons and icons and I love them both
-
If I were you, I'd get the xcons with saz-3500d. They will get loud and they will sound good doing it. Hitting the lows is relative to what you consider low, and its box dependent The lower you tune the better sq but less output on higher end. 30hz is a good choice for what you want.

woot haha videos and lots of them

How did you set your gain on the amp?
-
I have learned to ignore most of them. yeah, unless its a video posted by a ssa member
-
I read youtube comments and just get pissed off

2 12" ssa icons (prototype?) review First thing I noticed when I unpackaged them was how well built they were. The huge triple stack motor, well you guys can read the specs but the craftsmanship on these drivers is top notch. In my setup I had dual 1ohm drivers wired to 1ohm on saz-1500d amp. My electrical is stock besides the big 3 done, so I couldn't really take full advantage of the amp, but that was okay because the icons still got loud, very loud. I probably had the gain turned up 2/5 on the saz. First song I played was Narayan by The Prodigy, bass kicking in at 0:44 sounding nice and crisp at low volume, got a couple rattles here and there in the jeep. I then turned it up to hear what it could really do, the rave of the drivers, and I was astounded to hear earth shattering bass without losing any sound quality. My esophagus was tensing up and parts in my vehicle were moving and rattling that I didn't think was possible. My mirrors druped down for god's sake. Everyone knows the icons are SQ based drivers, but they do in fact get loud. Big fat punch to the gut. Next song was Cyanide by Metallica. Every drum line was dead-on, never missing a beat. These drivers carry a punch and sound amazing doing it. I couldn't ask for more, hitting the lows like I never knew possible. When setting up my amp settings and playing some test tones in the garage, I made a roll of paper towels fall from a shelf (just thought I'd share cause it was awesome ) I'll be posting another review once I have the electrical to backup my amp and the icons are broken in. Enclosure Specs: 3.5 @ 33Hz 3.5 air space .28 sub disp .077 bracing 3.75 x 12.5 port area = 13.4 sq in of port per cube Videos (sorry the camera sucks picking up audio)

Have you ever heard your "favorite" aa smd driver before? its not actually my favorite. i just said that cause it a huge ass sub and its expensive, i messing with the guy, since he has no information about price. Why does it sound horrible? i have heard them through Steave Meade's vids, and they sound loud. I never said they sounded bad, and rating a subwoofers ability to get loud and/or sound quality through a video is a joke, seriously? I have nothing against his subwoofers, they're probably very good or his name wouldn't be on them, but that wouldn't make me say "there my favorite" Being expensive doesn't mean it's the best... Never said that they are good because they are expencive. I also put them up because they handle 3500 watts RMS. And I wouldn't say they are good if I heard them through a video. I trust Meade and his choice of subs, if he uses them they must be of good quality plus AA subs I hear are very nice. And I'm done argueing. fair enough
-
For some weird reason, I have a feeling you got the smds
-
x2 or x3 or whatever on the xcon, If this was me, I'd buy ssa xcons in a heartbeat.
