okay thanks, so is there enough difference between the volume from 1 15 btl and 2 12 bls to warrant the $200 price difference? Right now i have 2 10" type r's in a prefab ported box and they are pretty loud. how much louder would 1 15" btl be in a ported box tuned for spl? would there be a night and day difference between the two? what vehicle is this going in? how much space do you have (volume)? haha by volume i meant sound output, but it is going into a 2000 ford taurus, so it has a ton of trunk space. my 2 10's take up probably less than a third of it haha by volume I meant volume (SPACE) in your car for an enclosure, not sound output... I definitely have the space to put a 3-5 cu ft box in my trunk. how much difference will there be between two bl 12's and one btl 15 on 1500 watts? will there be a night and day difference between the btl and my two type r 10s? also what does "Re: 0.7 Ohms/coil | 1.4 Ohms/coil" mean? does it mean that if i get the dual 2 ohms and wire it in parallel it will actually be .7 ohms instead of 1? its the voice coils resistance, not the impedance, so don't worry about it. one dual 2ohm speaker can be wired to either 1ohm or 4ohm. Two dual 2ohm speakers can be wired to 0.5ohm, 2ohm, or 8ohm. that makes sense. so what about sound output? (spl) Could you fit two 15" BLs?

8" 10" 12" 15" 18" 21", etc can all reproduce the same notes and frequencies. Most local audio shops have never heard of FI, ssa, sundown, dc, etc, so it doesn't mean much when they say theyve never heard of them before

There isn't any break-in, but the more you play it, you may notice it gradually get louder

Vehicle is 2door hardtop jeep wrangler. I'm going to put 4 12" icons in, I can either have the drivers face towards the dash or up, port can face any direction (guessing i'll do rear, but perhaps front would be better for semi wall?). If I have the drivers facing the front towards dash, the box will not be a wall (there'll be ~15 inches on sides and top, around the box). This is what I was envisioning for upfiring, or just rotated and move port for front firing. Also, The box will be directly behind driver and passenger seats, and will have about 15inchs of space from rear of box to tailgate (gotta have some storage )

Thanks Josh for the input, I'm going to do a downfire setup, reason is I need the space, and read a couple posts about people getting better results in my vehicle (jeep wrangler) with downfiring vs sub up port back ok, sounds good! When you coming down to Phx to do your build? Or are you already here?

saz 3500d output @ 1.33ohm
ssh replied to mrbojang's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Rough guess, ~3k, but then again i have no clue what your electrical is... 6drivers rated at 600rms would be 3600watts. 3600watts vs 3000watts, your not going to notice the difference audibly, but if your competing then you lose a few decimal points... like .2 haha Don't worry about it, is what I would suggest -
Hope everything goes well, get well

What vehicle, how many drivers?

lol, i've changed box designs, you'll see in about a month in build log
-
I would love to see a build log for this

WoW that would work I bet too!!!! Not enough time left for shipping before this weekend but worth looking into for sure. Thanks for the link! wish I woulda found it sooner, hope it solves your problem

maybe at the end of the day when he's actually got some work done on it? -
Heres a couple more: Heres a rock we ran over: and this is how far it moved

thanks everyone for your input. Didn't steer me away from building but Argent's gonna make a long ass drive from CA to AZ, so I'm just gonna have him build it haha thanks bromo for the write up, always nice to understand something you didn't know before.

First time building ported enclosure, I would have someone build it but I'd cost too much to ship and sounds like a fun project, sorry Argent hmm, scratch that the box volume is going to be 7.66cuft I used the port calculator at 12volt, port width: 30" port height: 2" port length: 13" tuning: 33hz I drew up this pic so that someone could tell me if "B" is part of the port length or what (p.s. picture is not in proportion to dimensions, just general.) So would A+B=13" or is A 13" and B is?
