dialing in my us amps xt1600.2....please help!
ssh replied to AndrewBR98's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Kinda OT, but what is the Bass EQ good for then? Seems like it's pretty pointless? If your gains are set correctly, then it's not going to boost the bass anymore, it's only going to clip the signal. On this amp the bass EQ is centered at 45hz, counter-clockwise = 0db, full clockwise = 12db, it's not going to magically add 12db in bass and not clip... -

Do you have the cross over set to hpf, full, or lpf? -

I'd set the lpf to 80hz, not 50hz. -
Subs Ringing Problem
ssh replied to rmzsuzuki89's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Oh, well if the rcas are unplugged then it's not the headunit. I don't think an amp ground would do this either? Can you try just using one amp? Maybe it has something to do when their strapped? -

Could it be possible the maxxlink was filtering out the engine noise? Try running a new ground on the headunit. -
I'd be worried if you played 8hz all the windows would shatter?

And where, good sir, is this section? I see "General" "Products" and "Technical" He already stated "Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical. " This isn't Fi related... It's about your electrical... P.S if you buy a cheap sh*t alt, not only will it most likely be worse then oem, but it'll fail from all the stress. Buy a decent aftermarket alt or don't buy one at all. I suggest adding a battery or two as well, this will take some stress off the alt...

If you run your hand along the edges of the rear wall and top can you feel any breeze of air escaping? Perhaps there's a couple spots that are leaking and can be sealed?

1st time on the LCD Bass Meter with a 144.5

This isn't going to be anything drastic and probably already did it, but have you tried running the ac on beforehand, close vents, turn sun visor down, move seats forward, etc? and btw i'm digging your score -
Only you would know that. This is not a Sentra forum. lol I would doubt it, but go measure your trunk and come back. Just measured and got these numbers. (Not exact by any means) 39" wide (between the wheel wells) 29" deep 15" tall only way it would fit is if you had it upfiring or down firing, considering this is going in a trunk I would do down firing so your trunk lid doesn't rattle as much. But you may gain or lose output from down firing, only way to know is to test it out. So a 12" facing the rear may be a better way to go.

35hz would sound very nice. For whats it worth, I have two icons and my enclosure is tuned to 33hz and it sounds very good. Although I sometimes think about tuning lower
-
Well if you want to get louder on the same amount of power, then go for biggest cone area that you can fit with optimal volume. so how much volume do you have to work with? If you can't fit an 18" within optimal specs then a 15" would be better. Is space an issue for you?

You can use audacity, which is free for download. Open Audacity go to Project and Import Audio highlight the part of the song you want to check go to Analyze and Plot Spectrum change the box that says 512 to 16384 change linear frequency to log frequency move the cursor over the highest peaks and it'll tell you the frequencies. -Derrick824
