you don't have the appropriate volume to use both of them in a ported enclosure, and you don't want to run them sealed... Get over it.

Don't worry about it, I know I'm not the only customer I'm jealous your in LA, I miss that city.

Awesome! Looks like I'll be installing it first thing after school tomorrow. Woot!

sweet, I haven't installed the alternator because I thought I needed the resistor on the old wiring harness so it would work correctly. Can I install it now and leave the old harness disconnected? Will it just trip a light, but still function properly? Oh and did you see my last questions in post #7? Thanks! I'm really excited about getting this monster in

If you can't fit a Ported enclosure for the 18s then maybe you should use a single 18 in a ported box
-
In my tj: width from fenderwell to fenderwell it's 33.5" and from behind driver seat to tailgate it's 35" (but won't leave you space for extra batteries or storage) Just depends on how much room your willing to lose
-
Give us dimensions. I have a 18" bl in my tj...

you think so? would you use it? Send Rudeboy a PM or email him and use his stuff. His stuff works extremely well, and is priced very fair. My JEEP wrangler is pretty quiet after using it

if i could fit two i would have given you the money in my bank account and got a second one, but two 15's i just cant make it work, least i don't think i can. Then get a different vehicle. na, not in my budget, put a lot of work in to the Camry. its not going any where. Life is a series of compromises, deal with it Try a BTL instead of your Q and see if the output and sq meets your standards, if not sell it.

3K is not asking to much is it? i could probably get a 2k rms to take 3k and use common senths not to blow it. Don't expect a company to make something you want just because you asked nicely.

No, there going to be quieter...

What says to put two 40amp fuses? The manual? If so, why was there 25amp fuses in there to begin with?

And is the resistor in stock now?

I've heard of them before. They have mixed reviews... google search: mechman alternator -

your musical genre has no effect on the subwoofer choice. I say for ported enclosure for maximum output, and the sa12s and ssds fall under your budget as well -

Build another box for your current driver, but make a ported enclosure instead of sealed, see how that sounds to you! Tune to ~33hz -
I'd rather have a blunt correct response, then a nice misinformed one. And x4 to M5 coming up first in my mind

more batteries or more alts
ssh replied to kryptonitewhite's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
well isn't that cool. I hope your EA alt works well. When I was looking to get a h/o alt I read reviews on iraggi, mechman, ea, and dc. Iraggi, mechman, and EA all had mixed reviews, especially EA's having bad voltage drop at idle, So I went with DC considering they had zero negative reviews. Does the EA alt have a stock size pulley? or is it smaller to compensate? They have negative reviews as well, just not as many and there customer service does help stop the negative reviews from being posted. Well I couldn't find any I only read two issues people had with their DC alts, both were here in their section of the forum, and both seemed to be taken care of. -

Depending on the enclosure volume and port diameter, you can have port noise issues (turbulence), but I'm not sure how much port area and diameter to volume you need. Any box builder will know

An extra battery in the back wouldn't hurt, probably all it needs. say a d3400

Ok...thanks. How about ports, location, size? Also to keep the box as slim as I can...what is the minimum distance I should have between the edge of the basket and the edge of the box? The O.D. of the sub is listed as 8.25, so would I be able to make the top depth of the box somewhere between 8.5" and 9"? Try port back, you can either do a simple slot port or use an aero port. I think 8.5" or 9" would work fine, considering there's a few boxes I've seen built that had a width of 15" and had a 15" driver mounted, just had the ends on the box sanded down and the driver gasket was kept flush with the wood.
