I don't believe that... 120amp alt isn't going to produce ~285amps to an amp that's not very efficient in terms of power output... Even if you had a huge battery bank, voltage would drop to batteries resting voltage (12v-13v), unless it's a 16v setup with a ton of stepdowns for stock electrical.

Google sketchup is free and you can do measurements, interior viewing, exterior, etc... and it's free

2 10" Ported, 2 12" Sealed, or 1 15" Ported?? - 2010 ICONS
ssh replied to stockley1234's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Post your vehicles max dimensions that way we have something to work with. Edit, didn't vote on the poll because it doesn't work like that... Enclosure volume will play a big roll in output. -
I tested out the comment on pts 4 xcons 15s page, everything worked as it should! Pretty awesome you can connect with facebook accounts now. The new site looks so clean, especially the comment bad

Nah I'm pretty sure I'm all there. That's actually my worst nightmare, sane and being locked up in a psych ward.

haha, I love this forum!

rofl, just keep telling him in every thread XD

Get a lcd volt meter and check your voltage at full tilt, other then that and possibly adding another battery you should be good

Help me choose! IB3, X or DCON? or something else?

Right now is a Ford Expedition, but limited space since I carry construction tools for work. Is the xcon for another vehicle? -

What vehicle do you have? Just get an 18" I'd bet running an 18" xcon with only a few hundred watts is going to be louder then what your currently have... -
Pretty sure that was already stated like 5 times. People might steal your stereo since you advertised it. Now it's the 6th time.

In some way you are right, I might be rushing. But the problem is that this Pioneer just cannot make it anymore! From what Ive read, 4gauge is fine up to 1200-1500rms (at the end, depends on the distance too). It is close to battery as the 2000D is underneath the passenger sit, 10ft is pretty much the distance to the battery so thats fine. Unfortunately, I cant take advantage of the 2000rms since that would mean replacing to 0 gauge and most likely doing the Big 3. Noway I can afford a new battery now. My current voltage is 13.6 at idle, 13.7-14.1 while driving. So its not bad IMO. I do plan on using this amp to its full power, but maybe in the future. If anything, I think I should prob replace my 4 gauge with 0 gauge. But that still leaves me with my hungriness for bass Buy one driver, and build a box for it, down the road get a second matching driver and build a new box? -

IB3 is Infinite Baffle, best for sq, not for your goals. Running 1000watts either way is going to need new wire, 4gauge isn't enough unless your only running it ~10ft. To me it seems your rushing, you want something loud but can only spend xxx. You already have a nice amp, take full advantage of it and use drivers that take full advantage of the power. Your gonna need to replace that 4gauge, and probably gonna need another battery for the amp. The only reason I'm suggesting you go bigger and spend more is, you have a big amp, if you didn't intend in using all it's power at some point then your probably would have bought a smaller amp. So instead of doing a small build and then redoing everything in six months, I say wait til you can do it all at once, it'll be cheaper in the end. Just my two cents -
2 ECLIPSE TI PRO 15" VS 2 INCRIMINATOR AUDIO WARDEN 21" VS ANY

I agree. This thread is stupid. for now on, any thread with the text "VS" in the title should just be locked -
Just like that heh.

ssh replied to WARDEN DETHSTROKE's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
Want it to be loud on music, I have no budget will pay anything to get best quality and vehicle is a sebring I have a video of currentf setup also on youtube as holychips7. Build a wall, What dimensions do you have to work with? You could get two more TI's and a bigger amp, that would probably be cheapest If it's still not enough, replace TI's with some other 15s Honestly the possibilities are endless when you have no budget or space requirement -

My uncle's friend's neighbor has a really fast car, cool huh? So I take it you've tested all the above mentioned drivers and concluded that the TIs are better in every single application? -
saz 2500d or saz 1500d for 2 18 fi ssd subs
ssh replied to mrjohnsonjr's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
We can't tell you what exactly you will need because we aren't there doing it for you. But here's what we can recommend. If you run the saz-2500d at 1 ohm you will need electrical upgrades. Here is what you should try in order. Big 3, Battery or Batteries, High Output alternator. The saz-2500 draws a lot of current. You need power to make power. With the Saz-1500d you will probably need to do the big 3 and have an extra battery. Anyways, 2500 watts is a lot for those subs. SSDs are rated at 800 watts and with that amp you'll be giving them 1250 watts each. It may take it, but then again they may not. It really all depends on the install. Since you said you are new, I'd personally play it safe and go for the saz-1500d and run it at 1 ohm for 750 watts to each sub. make sure you get Dual 1 SSDS so you can wire to 1 ohm. Hope I helped. So everyone tellin me if i get the 2500d i will blow the subs wired at one ohm i thought them subs where beast that they where underrated and could Handel atleast 1300 watts what about if i find one of them discontinued 2000d's i dont want them to only get 750 watts and be underpowered so whats a good range to keep them in watt wise Give them rated power. And use smaller font size. If you want to run more power then quit being cheap and buy the BL or BTL. And to go along with this step up of power, upgrade your alt and get a few batteries for the back. I'm giving you good advice, DAWG. thanks man i really appreciate all the info.... and by the way we dont say dawg any more its doggie now I'll have to remember that Do you have a budget man? Not trying to downgrade you or anything, but running a couple ssds verse bl or btls is a fairly big jump power and cost wise. To take advantage of some of the higher end drivers such as bl,btl, nightshade, xcon, warden, etc you need a lot more power, and not only does that mean bigger more expensive amps, but you need to do a fairly big electrical upgrade (ho/ alt(s), battery bank) to keep up with all the amp draw. -
If you want all the "umph" out of that icon, I'd upgrade the amp at some point

Only time I bump that probably pisses people off is at school. Everyone rushing trying to get out of the parking lot, moving a couple feet every couple minutes, and I'll bump for a song or two And luckily for me, my school is full of rich kids that don't have the need to steal, and we have guards everywhere looking for kids doing drugs... So I feel fairly safe about my stuff not getting stolen. x2 Everyday afterschool, leave the lot slowly bumping making these beaners mad cause their shit sounds wack! I'm Mexican.

OK - i am either going with the SA12 or the SKAR 12" subwoofer. Both are rated at 600 rms. Do you think i am making a good choice in selecting one of these drivers and running it at 2 ohm off of a SAX-1200D? That would give me some future head rooom as well to run two woofers at 1 ohm total load to the amp? Thanks guys Running it at 2ohms would be easier on your car's electrical and still provide enough juice for either driver

Now I'm going to add your personal page since I can find it now! "Liked"

Make sure it forms a circle inside the enclosure, or it'll disrupt the sound wave and it'll sound awful. Just Kidding Just throw it in! If your enclosure is ported, you may want to staple it down so it doesn't come out the port...
