BL not reaching potential?
ssh replied to SentraGuy's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Yeah he kinda ignored my questions about that... lol -
2door '97 jeep wrangler (hard top). No rear bench seat. Not doing a wall. My plan is four SA12's, but the above design would be the same, just two more drivers horizontally.

My options are either this, or down firing with a 3-4" gap Doing this would lower the overall box height which would be very nice for my case.

2000 watts on saz 1500d amp?
ssh replied to nick.hofstatter's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Simple answer: Will the saz1500d match up nicely with the Qs? Yes. You may be able to find a used saz2000d for sale. or a new saz2500d. -
Question about crimping terminals onto 1/0 gauge
ssh replied to threedd97's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Nice find, I always just use a triangular grip on my vice. -
LOC & Line Driver

Not trying to be the salesman But I have one of these laying around that I need to get rid of -
I'd pick a Fi product over any dc soundlab product. Hard to get an answer tho when you have no goals lol.

2 10" Ported, 2 12" Sealed, or 1 15" Ported?? - 2010 ICONS
ssh replied to stockley1234's topic in Subwoofers / Speakers
The rear seats fold do fold down. But i do not want to lose my rear seats. If I am taking this wrong please let me know. It is the very first time someone has asked me if they fold down. I want the box to be restricted to the trunk only. As for looking at the tech section, yes I have. I have practically studied the box sizes for all the woofer combinations I am asking about and it seems that they will all fit. The only thing left to do is to actually make mock boxes from say cardboard or something and see if they fit in. Without crippling the cardboard of course, and I will be doing this, hopefully soon, if so tomorrow. he was wondering if the opening (behind your rear seats) is big enough to fit/slide the box through Yes. -
Waiting on the close up shots

Were the older baskets even black? Or did he just get a fi dustcap and magnet boot...

When I read the title I was getting ready to laugh... But it actually looks really good

WHAT? Two systems I've seen at school, people used lamp cord for their power and grounds on their 1200max output 300rms amps.

BL not reaching potential?
ssh replied to SentraGuy's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
The gain is used to set the correct output voltage depending on input voltage (without clipping of course). Example:5 Max Output Capable is 10. you input 2, output is 10 (set correctly) you input 3, output is cut while trying to produce 15. (clipped) you input 1, output is 5. (not full potential) ^This is just made up, but do you get the idea of varying inputs causing varying outputs and clipping if pushed too far. And then you throw in an adjuster (gain knob) to match the input to achieve max output. -
Alarm/remote start troubles
ssh replied to inkfx's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Make sure it's wired correctly, if the actual sensor is bad then It would have gone off before you put the aftermarket alarm in. At least that's my guess, makes sense. -
Plus there isn't a big enough demand for it in the car audio industry. 80% or 90% of car audio products sold are cheap shit. For every person with a nice setup, there's fifty with their sony xplods and 1200watt max amplifiers that use lamp cord for their power and grounds...

Alarm/remote start troubles

If it's not going off with the trunk release disabled then it sounds like that's your problem... Does the aftermarket alarm tap into the stock trunk release sensor or does it use it's own? -
BL not reaching potential?
ssh replied to SentraGuy's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
The xmax on the BL is 18mm, not sure if that's one way, so either 0.7" or 1.4" of excursion, So your inch of travel falls in there just fine. Watching a youtube video doesn't dictate anything. Don't want over-excursion now do you... What are your amp settings? What type of enclosure? volume, tuning? -

Do the rear seats fold down? If so what's the opening dimensions from that? -
Alarm/remote start troubles
ssh replied to inkfx's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
I agree they are cheap alarms and there's always the possibility it's faulty... There may be a bad sensor setting it off, check if there's a hood latch sensor, door latch sensors, etc. Long process of elimination =/ -
Your not loud enough

I'd post on 12v, they have a lot of knowledgeable people and info on car alarms and anything car electrical related -
One of the reason why I have 'things' shipped the local UPS store, with my cell on the address ....the "oh, it's just parts for my car" bit was wearing thin..... especially when she found how much her cousin spent on his car audio! lol Ha Ha, I just ship it to the house and let her find out in due time. I usually just get a look but she don't give me a hard time about it. We split the bills up and have separate accounts. She don't ask me how much things cost anymore and neither do I. Trust me, the girls spend the hell out of some money! Arguing about money pretty much ruined my first marriage and separate accounts is only way to fly. Well, there was that time I tripped and fell, and my wiener accidentally got stuck in another girl, that didn't help either. lol +1, She knows that I really enjoy car audio and 'car things' in general make me happy. She spends money clothes etc, and I rarely spend money on anything else; other than her and my dog I guess as long as my car retains a good practicality level (which is one of my system goals anyways), and she is fine with it. BTW, her boss was wondering where the Blue LED light was coming from inside my car...while I was waiting to pick her up from work last night. She told her boss "it was comes from his car audio set-up; his 'OTHER' girlfriend! LOL volt meter, bass knob light?

Two dual 1ohm Fi Q's on AQ 2200D (2 pairs of terminals) to 1 ohm
ssh replied to AHM131313's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
You can use a single pair from the amps output. The others are there for flexibility. As far as wiring down to 1ohm, just follow the picture. Not sure how else to explain it. Obviously you'll have more then a pair of wires since you need to cut some to wire from one coil to another. -
Do you mean khaotic enclosures? They are a part of SSA, I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure Andrew from Argent Audio has access to a CNC machine and gets everything cut to spec and built for them. The thing that makes them aimed towards a specific driver is the volume, tuning is setup for daily (~33hz). So if you have another driver that needs xx amount of volume and a khaotic enclosure is close to that volume requirement then your good P.S. You'll love your icon, I had two, worst thing I did was sell mine

thank you so so so much No problem
