Power and ground wire
ssh replied to Kyle1141's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / Electrical
Then why bother asking if you already know what your gonna do? Anyhow it's looks awful perdy compared to welding cable -
Basically I want to know why people look to see what feq. they're car peaks at and how that would be useful in my situation. For example, air force ones- by Jeezy gets really loud. So say I figure out what freq. that bassline plays at, could that be any use to mean as far as port tuning goes? People that find their RF use it for competing. For fart boxes. Your wasting your time. If you want more output, tune higher and lose on the low end. Or buy another driver and or run more power (within drivers rms...)

Power and ground wire

never used kicker wire before, but I use 0gauge from weldingsupply.com and it's awesome. It's a little cheaper then "car audio" wire but it's exactly the same. Pure copper, fast shipping, what's not to love -
We don't know what you're talking about.

My headunit is the alpine cde-102 and I got the alpine kce-433iv (full speed connection cable made specifically for my hu). Hooked the cable up to the rear pigtail connection, flipped through all the sources on HU and it shows nothing. If I set it to Aux, I can play music from the ipod but can't control ipod from headunit. So it's acting as a normal 3.5mm jack aux cable... I tried switching settings from Aux input ON to OFF and that only enabled/disabled the music from ipod, but still no headunit controls. My ipod is a touch 2g, I've also tried a ipod nano 2g, and no avail. Anyone have a similar problem or solution? Perhaps my cable is crap, but it seems odd for a new cable to go bad

Impressive, any time on the TL yet?

Both of these are untrue. They are not made for fart boxes in the least, they are just cheaper form of DD. And as long as the box is correct, the AQ's can get just as low as the DD's in every way. And I would dare say if you got the Aluminum coil AQ's, they would take much more abuse then the DC Lv4s would. dun dun dun! Haven't played with either drivers, no input from me.

That has long been taken care of, and it was essentially one or two people that made a huge stink that could have handled it much better. Many people like to whine and bitch and bash. Good to hear, to be honest I just googled Leviathan to find some reviews and found that. Didn't even look for the date that was posted But everything I've read on SSA, people love the amp. To the OP, if your still torn between both amps, it wouldn't hurt to check the build logs and find a couple people with the amps and pm them about it

Not trying to steer you away from Zed, but may wanna give this a read: http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/member-product-reviews/68939-where-zed-leviathan-kronos-reviews.html First batch had a couple issues with pop noises and protect, but they got that fixed and everyone seems to love theirs.

Sealed enclosures aren't bad, but doing a "big build" is generally done in order to get loud. Typically ported enclosures are louder to begin with, so why spend more money on more drivers when you can simply port the enclosure and gain dbs.

alpine cde-102 & full speed connection cable

Problem solved! I unplugged it and plugged it back in numerous times, each time til it clicked and still nothing. Tried one last time after being pissed off and pushed as hard as I could, and now it works -
149's on music. Funny looking box, but nice numbers

sounds like your using your friends mistake to your advantage, and then some... you only need a recone, not a whole driver cmon man
-
lols, great plan. You should get some proper education before you try and design your own drivers.

Well put.

Let's not forget, Nick is on the forum and chat almost everyday answering any questions or problems relating to Fi and car audio in general.

Pretty fun day, got to check out Marks rocket ship and Damerico's ( ) smds -
This weekend I competed against a truck with 4 15" drivers in a sealed enclosure. I had a single 18" in ported enclosure and we were doing virtually the same numbers (Within tenths of a db).

As stated above, check your voltage and grounds.
