No worries. I also own a porn forum \ And the wife flips about 120 gb of porn?? How does this make sense? J I guess because it wasn't on my CPU... and she doesn't know about the porn section of the forum Glad to see you healthy again and able -
I attest to Andrew from Argent Audio making awesome boxes.

It's a common sickness.... try waiting for a month if you ordered an N2... they still haven't shipped, and when they do it will take a week for them to get to your house. Now that's where the grey hair comes in x2, ordered sa12s a while back, out of stock, would be back in 2weeks, waited, then changed to another 3 weeks, waited, then switched order to icons and got them a week later

I will have over 8 cubes after everything is said in done if I only do 1. I wanna save as much as my back seat as possible lol. well if you want to save as much room as possible, then do a single 18". Smaller box = more storage room. no brainer... If you want more output and have the appropriate net volume then 2 18s would be the way to go.
-
what are your dimensions for an enclosure? You don't sound very sure how much volume you really have. After driver, port, bracing displacement your net volume will be significantly less then your guess / gross. (as shizz stated in chat )

In my mind the amp doesn't just realize it's and .5 and blow..... I believe people keep their electrical under par and with the lower resistance the amp consumes more power.... the lower the voltage the "slower" the power is moving and therefore more power (amperage) is needed. This stresses the internals of the amp and puts them under high stress. My goal is to stay around 14.x volts to keep the amp healthy. I obviously can't do this with additional batts (since the 12v batts float around 12.5) so I will likely need additional alternator power. I don't know if I listed this before, but I will likely be acquiring an additional 3000D and run both at 1ohm, which seems less risky to me. No matter what route I go, the amps will be running under the most optimal conditions I can provide.... yes that even means lowering the gains from their optimal position (wattage wise) if need be. I hear ya. At least your giving it enough power to cover the amperage draw and is just for the mean time

Clean truck, clean install. I dig it!

Tuned in! Interested in seeing how the amp does at .5 for daily...

why are you so set on a 21" or 22", sure it has more cone area then a 18" but nothing a couple 18s wouldn't outdo... I just don't see the point, 18" is big already, if you want more output add more drivers, adjust enclosure volume / tuning...

Nothing gets removed. No functionality is lost. It all win. More alts, more amperage, lots of power. Nothing but love. That's pretty wild, most setups with dual alts require the ac to be removed Excited to see photos of the before and after engine bay
-
That's stupid, quad bracket? you don't need 4 alternators. Just put a optima battery in the back and call it a day. The Bracket, pulleys, and bearings all show amazing craftsmanship. If I ever need a bracket I'll definitely go through tejcurrent. So in order for this to fit, what all is being removed? AC?

maybe thats the way to go...would you recommend the ssa icons? I've used the ssa icons and there awesome. linear response, maintained sq at full excursion, and still got loud

F150 regular cab. I actually met Mark today nd he took a look at my car and I also talked to one of the box builders...Mark was kind of leaning towards the two twelves sealed and the box guy and my friend were leaning more towards the ported 12...so its tough to say and I am sure its hard to really say which will be louder...haha toughest decision of my life must have an easy life if this is your toughest decision... It would certainly be cheaper to go with one driver, but something about sealed enclosures just sound a little different, maybe more linear flat response. Either way you can't go wrong.

tips to make build sound that much better?
ssh replied to ChocolopeMawnster's topic in General Audio
I've always gotten the best output when I mounted my subwoofers on my rear windshield IB style. But really you have to ask some specific questions. Do you want tips on how to improve on sq or spl? Is this thread only about your sub stage or front stage as well? What equipment are you using? -
Yes AA, makes 7" carbon mids. I believe you can get them with tweeters too, (I think the tweeters are made from someone else, but Fi wouldn't use them if they weren't good).

Alpine CDA-105 is a nice headunit, but it really depends on what features you need... -

Not sure which specific style of cars your looking for, but these have plenty of room for a big build: And I'm sure there's tons of stuff you can do to the engine, if interested may wanna check out the volvospeed forum
