  1. Well normally if someone buys xxx drivers with xxx enclosure and likes the sq or spl, then it gives one an idea of what sq or loudness is to them. SQ and SPL are all relative to the person, so knowing what you have used/listened helps us judge what your interpretation of sq or spl really is. You could have a real shit front stage and be jumping up and down that you want sq subs when in fact any decent spl sub would sound great and be loud enough for you. Or we could judge off your front stage what you've done and it gives us an idea of what you enjoy and deem sq. Comparing a 10" driver with 300watts or a 12" with 500watts is plain stupid, it doesn't mean anything. You and I both know a lot more comes into play for finding either SQ or SPL then just power or cone area. I kinda get the feeling you don't want my input
  2. 510watts at 4ohms, lower the gain on the amp and it'll produce less power. Would the idea of putting a small enclosure behind the center console work for you? Just disconnect the wires and pull it out when you need to carry 3 people, otherwise you can carry 2. It would be simple, fast to take in and out, and you wouldn't have to mess with your center console.
  3. You keep stating you want SQ and not spl, yet you bring power ratings into the equation... Have you ever heard an sa8, or a 10" Fi Q? Just because you have 510watts doesn't mean you need to use all of it... consider it headroom. How can you honestly say your into SQ when you list your current substage as "two 10s in a ported box, with 870watts" <-That doesn't tell us shit, only gives the impression that you aren't an audiophile looking for true SQ, but someone looking for something loud and musical. Report back with some detailed information of your current front stage and sub stage. Help us help you
  4. In my dads dodge ram we put a small box for a 10" Polk behind the center console. When we need to carry 3 people in the back, we simply unhook it and tape up the wires so they don't short circuit. But with the enclosure in, we can still carry 2 people in the back. I'll post a picture later.
  5. Hi Guys, Bought a 270xp alt from you guys for a 4.0L 1997 jeep wrangler, sold the jeep, got a 2002 volvo v40 wagon, 1.9L inline 4. Do you guys have cases that fit the volvo? Can I send my alt in and get that switched out? How much? Thank you, Stefan Talked to Stan, this thread can be closed. Thank you.

    Welcome to the IHoP

    That's insane
  7. what would u do in my situation? i dont have the money for a HO alt. i only have the money for maybe another battery but thats all. i have a "65 mustang and summer is coming up and i have alot of mantinance to do to get it ready. it needs brakes and new upper and lower ball joints. not that that has anything to do with systems but i wanted to fill u in on my situation. save up and get some sealed agm batteries, xspower batts are great but pricey, may wanna also check out some deka 9a31s (I think that model number is right)
  8. You did refer to volts as amps, there not the same lol. These walmart batteries, got a link to the specs? Sealed agm batteries are fine inside the cabin, but i have a feeling these cheap batteries aren't sealed, therefore they leak gas... ya idk about all that. when i picked up the 9500's, the guy had 4 of the walmart batteries in his trunk and said it was all good. fortunatly, he gave me one lol. the batteries are just the regular boat batteries from walmart. im sure u can find them on walmarts website or even at walmart if ur ever there I only asked for the safety of you, I'm not going to search the walmart site trying to find what batteries you bought and whether or not their safe to be in the cabin. Just because he says there fine doesn't mean they are. What if you sold them next week to someone and said yeah there fine. They would believe you, yet you clearly don't know. Just my thoughts on the matter, Good luck.

    most potential

I couldn't agree more I would go with the fi BL and 4" coil option and cooling. It should work comfortably on 1600watts as long as your enclosure is proper size and amp settings are good

Have to put the car on ramps to have enough space to get to it, I don't have the room to use ramps. And to be honest, it's just a pain in the ass getting to the alt on this car, have to move the ac compressor, radiator, and a few other things.

Well I'm not sure if I can really afford to dish out $800 for xcons atm, so I'm leaning towards icons, but I believe their out of stock since their making the new ones. So not sure. Depending on if DC Power can swap cases on my current alt, I'll likely run a saz3500d or cres3kwp. If they can't make an alt that fits, I'll run a couple extra batteries and use a saz1500d. Enclosure is being made now YAY! im sure that if i can (and going to) get a 270xp, for my 94 Camry.. then they can make one for you. (my stock is 80amp. HA!!) a 270xp would do, right? My current dc alt is a 270xp, they would just swap internals into a new case. I just gotta call'm on Monday and see if they can do it Only bummer is I won't be able to install it, so I have to pay a shop to do it...

I got the car for $4900 (86k miles). Timing belt was just changed, checking dealership record to see if the tensioner was also changed. New air filter, ordered iridium spark plugs, and a few other maintenance stuff. Cleaned the maf sensors and throttle body this afternoon, everything has been in good shape. Contemplating whether or not to switch to a 3" downpipe for the turbo, supposedly it lessens the turbo lag and adds a tad more power...

    Amp Rack/ False Floor

the carpet does come out in one piece for my celica. but do you raise the floor like 2"s or what? I believe the saz1500d is over 2" in height, so that wouldn't work for ya now would it The more space between the amps and false floor, the more heat dissipation and cooling.
